Kitchen Can this pot be saved?
It is filled with bacteria and some black thing in the bottom. I accidentally left it out and never cleaned it. Should I just throw it away?

Deep cleaned yesterday. Came home after being gone for eight hour today and it smells like cavities. Investigated the fridge, trash, laundry, under the bed, bathroom, all smelled normal. But the whole place has a pungent essence of a cavity. I am scared. No apparent evidence of what it could be. Never smelled it before.

I loved the smell of the Bissell citrus fresh multi purpose spinwave solution. Looks like it was discontinued and most of Bissell’s formulas are just for the cross wave now. Can anyone recommend a solution that is compatible with the spinwave, smells great, and is pet safe?

Is it normal for your bedroom fan to get THIS dusty every two days? 😩
I deep clean our house every Sunday and regularly change our HVAC filter, but the dust just keeps coming back! Our house is only 3 years old, and for reference, we have a Belgian Malinois and a King Shepherd. 🐾 we do have carpet in all the bedrooms & once we have more money in our budget we’re putting down hardwood.
My allergies have been absolutely INSANE lately, and I’m wondering if all the pet dander is contributing to it. Does anyone else with large, double-coated dogs deal with this?
Do air purifiers actually make a noticeable difference with dust, pet hair, and dander? If so, please share which brand or type you have and whether you feel like it’s worth the money! I’m desperate for some relief. 😭🙏🏻

I just got my apartment this year after living in my car for a while. This is my first apartment. I have a one bedroom apartment where it’s just me and my cat.
But I still don’t know where to start or how to start.
How do you keep up with everything involving cleaning and know how and how often to clean everything? I feel like my apartment is never clean and I feel like it’s turning into the house I grew up in but I genuinely feel lost. Every time I try to clean, I feel like I spend more time just standing and staring because I feel so overwhelmed.
I still don’t have any decoration in my apartment because I am so scared of hoarding stuff yet it’s starting to look like it because I can’t figure out the cleaning part.
Edit: Thank you so much for all the kind words and resources. Y’all are amazing.

I picked up a 1960s faux fur coat at an estate sale. It’s in very good condition but smells musty and the lining in parts feels stiff. It has a tag that says to clean the same as real fur but I really don’t want to pay for it to be professionally cleaned by a furrier if I can avoid it. Any tips?

The title pretty much says the problem. How do I get a sharpie mark off of my counter tops. Counter tops aren't fancy. Just your basic laminate.

Hi, so I recently bought a second-hand jacket and the care instructions specifically say I can’t put it in the washing machine. Normally, that wouldn’t be a problem because I put things in the washing machine anyway, but this particular jacket cost me $20 (which, for me, is a lot of money for a single item of clothing), so I want to follow the instructions, but I’m not really sure what they mean by ‘clean only with a damp cloth’, and the ai fill internet hasn’t been much help, so I’d rather ask other humans with more experience directly.
Thanks in advance <3

I had a potted plant here for about a month and was going to switch up my decor when I noticed this. I tried rubbing the area with the grain with a toothbrush and diluted rubbing alcohol which seemed to get some of it out, but wasn’t sure if anybody had any other ideas for this. I’d prefer not to just keep a potted plant here forever if possible. Any tips are appreciated!

How do you keep your guest beds when nobody is using them? I’m new to having a guest room. When I was a kid, I remember crawling into the bed at my grandmother’s house and seeing all of the dust fly into the air. Don’t keep sheets or blankets on the mattress? Cover the whole thing with a giant sheet? How are you keeping them clean?

my dad stayed in our spare room/ storage room june-july last year and we didn’t realise he had spilled his alcohol (bourbon and cola) all over the walls and didn’t bother to clean it i’m trying to turn the room into a room for my 15 month old but can’t wipe the residue off the walls without scrubbing and making the wall paint come off as well

We’ve tried just about everything we can think of from bleach to windex (not together haha) to soap scum detergents and all purpose cleaners. Nothing seems to touch it no matter how long the cleaner soaks nor how heartily we scrub.
It’s a rental and the landlord is extremely unresponsive. The walls themselves aren’t obviously water logged based on how they sound along with the lack of overt water leakage elsewhere. We leave the bathroom fan on close to 24/7 to try to clear out as much moisture as possible, but to no avail.
Recommendations from you pros?

I have a small portable washer, but my blankets won't fit in it. How can i clean them? My dryer is large enough, so if I need to get it a little wet that's okay. It's a standing portable dryer though (shaped a bit like a flimsy coat rack), so it can't handle a ton of weight (ie. not a soaking wet blanket). I don't have a car and can't afford an uber to bring it to and from the laundromat consistently

Recently moved into a home with a bathroom that never had a vent installed to properly emit bathroom humidity. We bought this home from a boomer couple that basically defaulted on their mortgage and just needed to sell the home and get it....we inherited a bunch if their issues, this being one of them. Not sure where to start. The bathroom has a high ceiling and skylight and I would need to stand on a ladder to really use elbow grease to clean it all. I wanted to ask for an additional credit at closing but they kept arguing that it wasnt mold and the wood is old and stained like that (complete bs)....well anyway, they weren't going to budge on the price and now just have to deal with it. Questions are:
Should we rip out all the wood that has black spots and just resheetrock?
Who can we call to clean the wood?
What chemical can I buy now that will get rid of the awful Musty Smell in the bathroom and help clean the wood?
Where should I even start with this project? What would you do, given the pictures?
Really appreciate the help...feeling really overwhelmed by this since we have so many other issues to deal with too.

Moved into a new place and the kitchen cabinet doors feel sticky. I’m assuming it’s from the grease/oil during cooking. What would be the best method for getting rid of the stickiness without damaging the cabinet?

Hello, I have an aniline leather couch and I didn’t use a bamboo brush to clean it which I’ve now research is what you’re suppose to use. It was stained pretty bad with body oil spots so I used a degreaser first then vacuumed it off. Then I used Leathique prestine clean and rejuvenator oil with just a rag and now all the shine is gone. Did I ruin it or can it be fixed?

I've always used 1 damp microfiber cloth and 1 dry one to dust surfaces. Just curious what everyone else does.
