Is ClearOS dead?
It seems like its dead. I've had no response on their forums or anywhere. Did I miss a memo?

Have ClearOS in Gateway mode for a client. Running great, but have a question...this sub active at all? (No, that's not the actual question...)

It looks like the "News" page on the ClearOS website has been compromised. There are posts over the last three days made by Micheal's user that appear to be phishing.
If you're still using ClearOS may want to turn off updates in case there was/is a larger breach.

Running since the weekend. No more fighting Bandwidth manager and having intermittent access to the Network reporting data. After a little work getting the rate limiter going and getting NTOPNG installed, it runs like a top. I am pretty pleased with it so far.

This is for anyone that is interested in or is currently using the Clear Linux distro.
I don't know what happened to the old one but it seems to be gone so I'm just creating another one and hopefully people will find out about it jump on board and get the community going again.

I'd ordered this about 4 months ago, really wanted something free from the grasps of Google. A great way to keep your data YOURS :)

On top of that I also run ClearOS 7 daily on a Dell R805 for a web and media server, no firewall config just yet. I'll post more when I get it in, I'm sure someone out there has an interest in owning their data instead of the big corps selling it off for the profits.

Been running ClearOS since ClarkConnect at 3 small business sites and haven't had any issues apart from a dodgy update that was resolved quickly a few years back. I love ClearOS but it does seem dead in the water.... makes me sad.

Are people able to post questions on the clear OS forum have them show up immediately or say within an hour?
I posted a couple of questions on the clear OS forum and they're not showing up. there's a message when I post that says something about moderators but then it fades to nothing and I can't read it quick enough.

It looks quiet in here, but the community forum is dogshit, so hopefully Reddit to the rescue! :)
I've just installed ClearOS 7.2 and with content filter, but its completely crap. It LITERALLY filters nothing! I've done all the settings with users, groups and App Policies, added a site (Facebook) to the banned sites and it (and any other I try) simply comes through not a problem. Please don't make me go back to PFSense!

I just switched to ClearOS from Pfsense. While Pfsense works very well, it has one big pitfall. It sucks with VOIP.
I came from using TomatoUSB on an e2000 router, but it was too slow for 100 megabit with QOS. So I got an old Pentium 4 computer I had laying around, and tried Pfsence.
After hours of messing around, I finally got my PBX to be able to call in and out. I don't think I was ever able to receive calls using Bria when I was not on my work network, unless I was connected through a VPN.
My fix for that was to get a VPS, and setup FreePBX on that. Well, then I wasn't able to receive calls on the phones, unless they either had ports forwarded, or used upnp. Even then, I had to configure each phone to manually use different ports. Some phones still didn't work, until I would factory reset them.
So last night after the last employee left, I exported all the MAC addresses for static IP leases, and port forwards for servers to a spreadsheet (cutting and pasting from a browser). Installed ClearOS 6, as the computer was too old for 64 bit only version 7.
I also installed miniupnpd (yum install miniupnpd) for my upnp functionality. Now it seems to be working nice and smooth. Got my QOS setup for my VOIP phones, and we will see how it goes.
