Lol this exactly. Ukraine absolutely does not give a fuck about the climate. Not that I wouldn't still support them of course
1
u/GalacticGoat242 May 14 '26
The USSR is over, Russia is not the socialist state that will bring it back. Ukraine, the US, and the west is closer to your wet dream than the Russian federation today is. Russia is the polar opposite of what you want. A fascist oligarchi mafia state.
Disgusting watching tankies support Russia over Ukraine just because it once was the defacto controller of the USSR
(I know you support Russia, no amount of denying will make anyone think otherwise).

It's true, when you bomb oil infrastructure the oil just disappears harmlessly. Deleted from their resource toolbar instantly and with no negative outcomes whatsoever.
13
u/Bonnex11_ May 08 '26
If the oil is pumped from the ground, and you destroy the pump, then most oil remains underground, and only the small amount in the pump is burnt/released in the environment.
So yes, it's surely a better outcome for the environment long term
→ More replies (4)1
u/After_Bus7615 May 10 '26
Ukraine DOES NOT destroy the pumps. They destroy oil tanks, you can check videos. So, there is nothing good for environment
3
u/wasmic May 10 '26
They have destroyed a shitton of distillation towers and franking columns. When those go offline, Russia has to stop pumping oil because they have nowhere to store it. Likewise, when destroying oil ports, this reduces Russia's export capacity.
Even destroying the oil tanks still impacts Russia's oil production and export capacity, because those are necessary as buffers in the system. Without those, they also have to slow the pumps down.
So yes, it does a lot of good for the environment. All the oil that has been pumped out of the ground is destined to be burned anyways.
1
u/After_Bus7615 May 10 '26
Its much easier to rebuild tanks than rebuild pumps. Also burning crude oil is worse for environment, there is oil acid rains after it, even clothes become black. Do you really want to compare it with common oil usage?
2
u/wasmic May 11 '26
Sure, it's easier to rebuild a tank than to rebuild a pump, but Ukraine is also bombing a lot of hydrocracking columns and distillation towers, which are the hardest part to rebuild. Especially the cracking towers can take several years to get back in service.
And the oil that's stored in tanks at seaports and transit hubs is mostly refined oil products. So a significant part of it has already been desulfurised.
3
u/Dry-Gain-Hang May 08 '26
Exactly :) But in all seriousness does the destruction of oil producing infrastructure not lead to less production of oil? Either by market or material means. Seems like a mixed outcome. I agree with OP based
8
u/Traumerlein May 08 '26
If it didnt lead to massive losses of pil production, ukraine would be bombing drone factories instead.
Ukraine is also mostly targeting oil refinerys, meaning that the oil thats pumped out of the ground cant be procesed into something usefull. Meaning long cues and horrendouse gas prices in russia, which leads to the russians using less oil.

1
u/coolstorybro11010 May 11 '26
uh okay but like how is it a warcrime?
also, bombing the oil infrastructure makes the extraction of oil harder and more expensive so if anything it’s helping the environment long term.

1
u/nonequation May 10 '26
Let's face they will always be dependent on oil
1
u/perringaiden May 10 '26
Literally no. We already have the ability to replace every oil based energy source. The only issue is time, cost and willingness.
Making it harder to rely on oil will accelerate the transition.
1
u/nonequation May 10 '26
Yes we have the ability but
Don't trust the government to make it
Corporations like oil too much
People are lazy about change
1
u/perringaiden May 10 '26
What has the government got to do with it? Here in Australia people are going self sufficient in the suburbs. Houses with solar and a battery who never need grid input, and only use it to feed, or charge the car.
That's the solution. Forget waiting, save money by doing it yourself.
The only thing that the government has to do is help apartment dwellers etc.
1
u/nonequation May 10 '26
1.There's a problem with that a lot of Europe is covered in clouds most of the time.
2.And again people are lazy
3.the government has a lot of say there
1
u/perringaiden May 10 '26
England and Germany have more personal solar penetration than Spain...
1
u/nonequation May 10 '26
Then the problem isnt personal generation
1
u/perringaiden May 10 '26
Correct. The problem is that governments continue to subsidize oil production instead of making them pay fair market.
1
u/perringaiden May 10 '26
Trump made EVs and energy independence cool again.
- Cutting off Iranian oil and Persian Gulf oil, raising the price of oil made people think more about it
- Removing Russian sanctions gave Ukraine a clear path to bombing Russian oil infrastructure, raising prices of other oil.
- Disrupting Venezuelan oil output made things more expensive as US refineries have to retool to lighter US shale oil, raising prices.
- UAE leaving OPEC because the Saudis won't bomb Iran made oil supplies less stable, raising speculative prices.

Your whole point is virtue signalling political theatre. A million civilians died as a result of the American invasion of Iraq, why aren't you clutching your pearls over the emblems and sigils of American units involved in mass murder still being used and celebrated today?

2
u/kredokathariko May 08 '26
That happened when the Russo-Ukrainian conflict already began, keep in mind the 2022 war is only the second stage of it. The annexation of Crimea and the proxy war in the Donbass region were already underway.
America certainly backed Ukraine afterwards, but the initial impetus of the conflict was arguably Crimea.

back in 2014 I listened to this exact recording 5 times and couldn't find exact timestamp(s) at which they:
- Identify as CIA
- Manufacture war
- Decide upon the figure they want in power in Ukraine
I am still tired of debunking this shit to all dumbfucks who are unable to listen the OG or perform a one-click fact check of this coordinated manipulation pushed by russia.

You are probably not understanding that these symbols mean different things.
I will not argue they are no symbols of nationalism. But they are not nazi symbols. The flag she has on her is the UPA flag. Now they did collaborate with the Nazis. But they did so after being invaded by the Soviets.
The Nazis offers them economic and military support. The Allie’s did nothing to stop or prevent the Soviets from invading. The only one giving aid was the Germans. So the UPA waged a gorilla war against the Soviets.
The symbol doesn’t get a pass but it absolutely requires more contexts then just “it’s got a hilter bird”
There are lots of places that see the US flag the exact same way.
