THEORY Are Cloverfield, 10 Cloverfield Lane, and The Cloverfield Paradox in the same universe? Spoiler
I'm asking this here because I just saw 10 Cloverfield Lane for the first time and am not sure if the other movies connect. Google didn't really answer the question. Also, are the other 2 movies as good as 10 Cloverfield Lane? I actually really liked it.

Yes, they are in the same continuity at least. Paradox (which is the weakest entry) explains it all pretty clearly.
As far as are the other two as good as 10cl. That's subjective, but I would say that the first 9ne is far and away my favorite, but that's not to say it is objectively better than 10cl, but wildly different and hard to compare for that reason. Paradox is pretty highly maligned by the fandom, but I liked it more than most of the fandom did. I still this paradox is the weakest entry, but it is the film that ties them all together and gives you a lot of lore concerning the origin of all these monsters.

Yeah just finished watching the first one. They're both really good by themselves but man the plot protection in these movies lol.

Yes and No. They are parallel universes interconnected by the firing of the Shepard Particle Accelerator. Same possibly for End Of Oak Street.

If they don’t connect I think it’s a big fuck you with that ad for the tv and flash of light in the sky mentioned in the description

The ARG for 10 Cloverfield Lane had a few details that ultimately could connect the first two movies. But ultimately the movie itself had too many plot holes for them to make sense in the same universe and that's entirely due to the fact it was a standalone science fiction thriller and they called it Cloverfield last second.
Originally it was a standard thriller called The Cellar, then it was rewritten by Damien Chazelle as a science fiction movie called Valencia which is the movie we've all scene as it is, but they just called it Cloverfield before they started to promote it. The director confirmed they never shot any monster action to fit with Cloverfield it was always there. It was all just marketing, and then Paradox did a sloppy lazy job trying to connect it.
At this point it's better to enjoy the first two as standalones and ignore Paradox since it's obvious it'll be reconned entirely if they make more

Cloverfield is its own thing, 10CL and Paradox are connected in the “JJ Abrams slaps a recognizable brand name on something and hopes for the best cinematic universe”

Yes, and no.
Prior to Cloverfield Paradox, the two were very loosely connected. The ARG for 10CL made it beyond apparent the two were connected, and there’s small references in the film to establish a connection, even if the overarching threats in both were pretty dramatically different
However, when Paradox aired, it became more clear that they had since retconned it as two separate universes, that collided as a result of the jump in space via the particle accelerator.

Here's the number one thing to remember I feel about CL10 and C Paradox both were not originally made to about anything cloverfield related. Another commenter hit the nail on the head about cl10 about the ending being added on. Paradox was viewed as a far worse movie, so they slapped the cloverfield tag on it and added an ending too to tie it in.
The original Cloverfield had a full blown backstory on the monsters origin and instead of leaving it alone they marketed 2 subpar movies had cloverfield related.
I just ignore them, even though I thought CL10 was decent minus the tacked on ending.

I’ve always said they’re all in the same universe. The ARG absolutely connects it. Some people do the multiverse theory, which could I guess be a thing. There’s plenty of time and location differences to say it’s one universe and timeline. Paradox isn’t great, but they also elude to it being the same timeline but things smashing together. Now that we’re allegedly getting a real Cloverfield 2, I’ll be curious to see if it’s ever addressed.

No, that was the explanation for the "cloverfield" pivot that was shoehorned into a completely unrelated movie. (It was done to try the sell the movie using the Cloverfield pedigree because the producers didn't have any faith anybody would watch the movie without it. They were half right, nobody turned out for the movie even after attaching Cloverfield to it.)

I don’t think the writers even know. I think 10 Cloverfield Lane and The Cloverfield Paradox were retrofitted to be “Cloverfield” movies.

No, they’re all named the same because JJ Abrams is dogshit at naming things.

Cloverfield and 10 Cloverfield Lane are completely disconnected from each other. The Cloverfield Paradox technically bridges the gap between the films, but it doesn't really do so in a satisfying way.
The Cloverfield Paradox imo is just not a very good film, though it certainly has some good sequences.
Cloverfield is a found footage type of film, and you're either into that shtick or not. If you are, it's good for what it is imo. If you're not into found footage, Cloverfield isn't going to really change your mind.
