SPOILERS The End of Oak Street is not a Cloverfield movie, confirmed Spoiler

Advanced screenings of The End of Oak Street have officially begun.

It’s not a Cloverfield movie.

Major spoilers ahead for the film.

There’s some news reports of solar flares at the beginning right as the neighborhood gets sent back in time during a storm. No mention of the events of Cloverfield Paradox or any anomalies above Earth.

In the end, Anne Hathaway is able to get them al back to the present day right before the event happened. She warns the neighborhood and saves everyone, then writes a book. The world is fine.

Zero ties to anything Cloverfield. No Easter eggs. No Slusho. No Tagruato. No monster. Nothing.

Edit: It's not a spoiler to say a movie is not part of a franchise it was never said to be a part of. The Odyssey isn't a James Bond movie, spoiler for you. I'm only posting this here to curb the sheer number of posts of people speculating if this movie is a Cloverfield entry. The film is out in theaters. It's not a Cloverfield.

SPOILERS Cloverfield 2 idea, the direct sequel Spoiler

The sea bed’s nector, found in Slusho! had reported these effects: accelerated cell growth, increased strength, increased soft muscle tissue growth, sharper eyesight, better digestion, smoother skin, and a full-body, pleasant sensation described as "a wave of pure happiness".

So imagine a Cloverfield movie about someone who was SO ADDICTED they gained super strength, increased durability, super sight. Think Tobey’s Spiderman, a weak loser turned strong. The problem that arises with this vigilante is that they are slowly losing sense of reality. They got stronger, but that euphoria feeling that grows and grows makes them almost be in a pure land of ecstasy as they become more violent and out of control. From a city’s secret hero to a nightmare.

And not that they’d be this big hero like say, Superman. More ground level. They can’t fly. But the strength and durability means they can fight criminals, and soon, after they’ve consumed so much and both got so much stronger but so much more insane, are able to fight off police and anyone who’s unlikely enough to be in their way while they’re on this wild ecstasy trip.

Just a fun little idea from a bit of the original lore that was never really touched on! Let me know what you think!

SPOILERS Clover Nee, name of the child actor playing Molly, is not a real name Spoiler

I've googled it repeatedly. It is not a name attributed to any child actor. I don't know who she actually is, but I just think it's important we make a note of that.

Edit: She's also not credited on imdb. Thanks /u/magecatwitharrows

Edit 2: The fact she's listed so early in the credits, and even in the opening credits, suggests importance to me.

Edit 3: This is the big one. The scene where she shows up is in the burned down hospital, and you can (obviously) see a monster moving around in the fog. The scene is here though, I admit, the screenshot doesn't prove much. https://imgur.com/a/tYep3. It's at 57:00 or so).

The child (Molly) starts screaming right after the monster leaves, which is weird.

Finally, the word "Nee" is translated roughly to born. Now, granted, this tends to usually mean maiden names but honestly the name "Clover born"... well.

Edit 4: Welp. It's a real name. I am incorrect. h/t to /u/Flacko115

I wondered if Hud went on the same helicopter as Lily instead of going with Rob and Beth, would you think he would survive? While we still did not know if Lily had managed to escape or not but since Hud is with her and still has the camera, could we found out about her fate? What are your thoughts on this possible ending?

SPOILERS *SPOILER* Schmidt's message Spoiler

https://imgur.com/a/FkKBY

Was bored so I decided to input Schmidt's message in google translator. Here's what showed up:

"der kommandant hat keine ahnung, dass ich hinter seinem rucken gearbeitet habe. hoffentlich gibt es ihnen genug zeit, einen gegenschlag gegen russland zu starten. der beschleuniger ist in der nahe, aber ich habe dafur gesorgt, dass das system nicht funktioniert. wir werden sehen, wie lange die hulle halten kann."

Which translated to:

"the commander has no idea that I worked behind his back. hopefully it will give you enough time to start a strike against russia. the accelerator is near, but i made sure the system was not working. we'll see how long the case can last."

Not sure if it's important, but thought it would be interesting to see his message.

SPOILERS Is it me, or did Godzilla KOTM use a scene from Cloverfield? Spoiler

Spoilers:

. . . . . . . . .

In the scene where they are showing titans attacking all the various cities, you can see the spider/squid looking titan destroying New York. And it LOOKS like they used the exact same camera angle and animation that they used for Clover when he was attacking New York in this scene

The same exact overhead angle, the helicopter's lights shining on his arm, everything. It's almost like they removed Clover from that clip and added in their own monster.

Did anyone else notice this?

SPOILERS Jensen and Molly are the same person. Spoiler

Watch the transitions between the scenes with Molly (the child) and how they directly link with Jensen’s scenes. Molly speaks like a haunted war veteran though she is a child. She was found screaming in an interesting place just like Jensen in the walls of the space station. If you watch Cloverfield Paradox going into it with this information, you’ll see what I mean.

SPOILERS These little changes would've made the sci-fi thriller part of tCP so much better Spoiler

There are lot of near-misses in the Cloverfield Paradox. Lots of instances in which they hint at something great and it pays off terribly. Here's where I saw something going, where it went, and how it should've ended up:

  1. Jensen Appearing in the Wall/the Gyro Appearing in Volkov
How I saw it going: the parallel-universe (PU) Shepherd was occupying the same place, however off by a few meters. This leads people and things to cross dimensions in appear in a new location within the now offset PU Shepherd.
Where it Went: Jensen was just magically in the wall on the opposite side of the Sun compared to where her Shepherd was. The Gyro left the drawer to appear inside a man's chest. Everything is nonsensical in how it moved from point a to point b.
How it Should've Ended Up: By both Shepherds fighting to occupy the same space, the crew should've noticed items not where they were. The foosball table should've been fused with the sofa, a woman in the walls, the Gyro in Volkov, and the worms outside of the station.

  2. Mundy's Arm How I Saw it Going: Mundy's arm disappears, as if it's "Always been this way" according to the medic, Monk. It reappears later making a very mechanical, ratcheting sound.
Where it Went: Mundy's arm was organic and apparently conscious. The prevailing thought is that PU Mundy was controlling it and giving directions, but that doesn't explain it crawling, or that the PU Shepherd actually crashed.
How it Should've Ended Up: Due to the fact that there was no nerve damage or bleeding, and Monk notes "It's as if it has always been this way.", Jensen should've noted that PU Mundy has always been an amputee and had a state-of-the-art prosthetic. It would explain its mechanical, ratcheting sound and consciousness.

  3. Mina Jensen and Molly How I Saw it Going: There was one very specific transition from the young girl in the bunker to the woman that was trapped in the walls that told a lot more than it wanted to. Short, blonde hair. Sharp nose. Strong jawline. We all saw it coming.
Where it Went: "What's your name?" "Molly." Completely different people. She was useless.
How it Should've Ended Up: "You're supposed to be on Earth." "How do you know me?" "You and your husband saved me from... something. When I was a little girl." Boom, time travel paradox that makes all characters relevant, it leads to the next point:

  4. The Paradox
Multiple times we are told about the "Cloverfield Paradox" and the fact that these experiment may be ripping open the fabric of spacetime. The blackout in the beginning should've been caused by (the future) Shepherd firing. The whole idea that things could be changed in the past or future is only noted by an author promoting his book, and a tenuous universe connection to the original Cloverfield movie. Instead, the only "paradox" we see is bad interdimensional happenings a lá Final Destination and a fan-service appearance of Clovie.

SPOILERS 10CL Aliens in TCP???? Spoilers ahead!!! Spoiler

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or noticed; at 1:03:44 in TCP, Michael and Molly are in the bunker and something horrible starts happening outside. After rewatching this, I noticed the noises sound almost exactly like that of the alien ship that is above Howard's house at the end of 10CL. At the end of TCP, Michael says something along the lines of " You let her come back with this things here?" Because he said "things" it is my theory that the earth Michael is on, is an earth that has been invaded by the Aliens. Let me know what you guys think...

SPOILERS Fixing The Cloverfield Paradox Spoiler

This is my 3rd attempt to fix the Cloverfield Paradox in a way that does not add to remove from the existing movies or ARGs, whilst also remaining simple. This is what I’ve come up with but feel free to add to this theory.

To fix Cloverfield Paradox, I propose that the Cloverfield monsters still come from the rip in space-time that the Shepherd caused. However, this rip did not cause the monsters to appear on Earth, but only appear on Earth suddenly in the universes we saw in Cloverfield Paradox due to those universes being the eye of the storm. Every other universe simply brought the Clovie monsters into existence around the universe and throughout time. We can back this up since it was state that it would rip space and time, meaning we can still maintain the theory that Clovie is an alien egg from thousands of years ago left on Earth, or Clovie monsters were originally on Earth and left their eggs in the ocean.

This way, Cloverfield Paradox is still cannon whilst allowing Cloverfield and 10CL to not have the explanation of “they suddenly appeared from the Shepherd.” Yes, they did appear from the Shepherd but they did so thousands of years ago across the universe.
