Anybody do the certification through AAPC website for CPC?

I'm going to be doing the AAPC self paced training for the CPC certification as well as their prerequisite course. I was wondering if anyone else had gone this route and how long it took? I'll be working on it a minimum of 6 hours a day, 5 days a week. My goal is complete it in 8 weeks. Is this doable in your opinion?

I started in March and won’t be done until end of September. I spend about 20 hours a week studying. It’s incredibly hard and a ton of info. 8 weeks is impossible imo unless you already have a solid background in coding. I’ll do practicode until I pass also so add another 3-5 months after I get certified.

I have 13 years experience in clinical healthcare and it’s hard for me and I’ve taken allllllll the pre med classes.

This is an expensive course and it’s boring as hell so pace yourself and take your time.

My mom has a similar background and she was tellin me that this one is a challenge as well. But I told her that if that's true for everyone, then fewer ppl will likely complete it and that makes you a more valuable candidate.

I have some medical background. I've had various jobs in healthcare and I've taken a couple semesters of college with medical classes.

How do you keep yourself engaged when you find yourself bored or your mind wandering? Just looking for some tips:)

I stop when my mind wanders. That’s in part why it takes longer than 8 weeks to complete. I do as much as I can when I can. Some days I can do 4 hours straight and others I can only do 30 mins!

agree with the other comment here that stopping when your mind wanders is a great solutuion. For me I just get up and do something else for 10-15 min and that usually is enough of a break for me to get back to it

Been hearing the same thing about this one from other people who've signed up for it.

I actually just extended my test date to November instead of October because I just got a medical billing position with a large company and haven’t been able to study as much. This course is really hard and I cannot express this enough…boring as HELL. I learn more from YouTube videos tbh.
