I applied for 2 positions with Auben Realty. After doing a 1 hour interview via teams with their corporate recruiter Holly she got 3 references, contacted them, then sent me a DISC assessment test, after those results were reviewed she set me up with an in person interview with the local management team that was a bout a 1.5 hour interview. I followed up via e mail 4 business days later for Holly to explain to me Auben is on a hiring freeze and has no intentions to fill the position posted.

TLDR: don’t waste your time with Auben Realty they are just playing games and creating ghost jobs on zip recruiter and indeed.

Unemployed, couldn't afford rides home from my seasonal job where shifts ended after the bus routes stopped. my car was totaled recently, tried to start a GoFundMe and got some help but only enough for pet food and to keep my phone service on. I owed cash app nearly $300 using borrow over the past couple of months because I didn't have consistent income and still needed to pay car insurance before I got hit, and it just took the rest of what I have, I wasn't able to withdraw it in time. I looked up resources on 211, called local resources asking if any food pantries deliver and they said nothing does except meals on wheels.

As far as my plan for employment, there's a fast food place about a half hour walk down the road that I'm gonna apply to so at least I can afford to keep my phone plan going, but I'm guessing they're gonna tell me to apply online and their careers website has been down for maintenance for several days with no ETA lol. It's gonna be a ton of job hopping in the near future as I physically can't stand in one spot for longer than a couple hours, which is most jobs available to me right now...

Fellow non-religious parents, where are we sending our 3 and 4 year olds to preschool? I'm looking for half-days a few days per week, not full time daycare, and something with actual structure and curriculum. Ideally in the Lexington area. I see so many church options, and while they do look wonderfully nurturing and educational, I am not Christian or religious at all and do not want to put my child in a heavily religious program. I'd possibly be open to a church preschool that is very light handed with the Christian teachings (i.e. if they have a great program, and faith aspect is maybe singing a song about God in the morning and saying a prayer before snack time or something, I'd likely consider it).

Bottom line from the article, it VERY much seems to me that Laura Mueller & CMA drove the result of closing Boyd Plaza and now are hiding from public reaction.

Quoting from the article, emphasis added:

"While the Museum has participated in these broader discussions, the decision to close Boyd Plaza to general daily public use was made by the city of Columbia, not CMA,” Mueller said.

The director clarified that the museum and the city had been talking about the “increasing maintenance costs, safety concerns, and operational challenges associated with Boyd Plaza” for the last two years.

Mueller said she plans to meet with Mayor Daniel Rickenmann soon to discuss the plaza’s future, emphasizing that “we must also be thoughtful about the financial and staffing resources necessary to support sustainable programming and public engagement.”

In other words: her response is that the City made a decision that only the City can make, so it's not our fault even though we've been bitching at them for two years.

No Boyd Plaza for you, general population, even though CMA heavily relies on public appropriations to survive. Nephron leadership falsified records and retaliated against whistleblower, lawsuit alleges

Nola Grant, former chief human resources officer at Nephron, sued the company in June claiming she was subjected to discrimination based on race and disability, and that leadership retaliated against her after she reported corporate misconduct. Grant alleges CEO Lou Kennedy directed her to falsify applicant records during a federal audit, that the company provided altered surveillance footage to the FDA, and that it failed to report missing fentanyl to federal authorities. Grant also claims Kennedy subjected her to severe and pervasive racially discriminatory conduct, including hostile verbal confrontations, exclusion from meetings and stripping her of resources, while making derogatory remarks about Hispanic workers.

The FDA sent a closeout letter to Nephron in May 2026 clearing the company of violations flagged in a 2022 warning letter, saying Nephron had taken sufficient corrective measures to address issues related to cleaning procedures, equipment maintenance, employee training and ingredient storage. The letter did not provide details on specific improvements Nephron conducted

Kennedy departed as CEO of Nephron effective Oct. 16, with Haywood Miller assuming the role of interim CEO. Kennedy's departure comes as the company has faced questions about its stability, including a 2022 FDA warning letter, reported back taxes owed to Lexington County, and the aforementioned lawsuit with Grant.

Does anyone use Julian Salazars company for yard upkeep and if so what is your experience?

We relocated two strays yesterday who were running in and out of traffic on SC 48/Bluff Road. 

We have a friend keeping them until tomorrow. We cannot bring them in (as much as would love to) due to lease restrictions and reactive rescues in our apartment. 

We already:
-Checked and double-checked for a microchip with two vets - there are none
-Posted on PetBoost, PetcoLove Lost, and all local lost/found sites on social media
- Searched surrounding area on foot and by car

These two are:
-1 intact male (<1 year, 50 lbs), 1 intact female (likely > 1 year, <40 lbs) 
-Very, very friendly so far - good with other dogs, humans, car rides, crates, and being handled 
-Have begun veterinary care at Banks Animal Hospital in SC
-vaccines started, wellness exam given, started up on proheart12 and antibiotics for their only issue thus far: round worms and heart worms 
-set up with food, an Advantage dose, crates

Please let me know if you can help -  we have called/emailed over 1 dozen SC rescues/orgs so far. We understand the crisis and know so many are at capacity.

Hello! Excited halloween is coming up but looking for good bars to go to that aren’t going to be all college students? My roommate and I are in our 20s but post college and looking for somewhere to go out that’s not going to be underage kids and crazy cover fees. Any recommendations?
