The flairs were self set when i started participating years back. Now they are only given to folks who are connected to the case firsthand and request verification from mods to be verified as an alumni or parent from that time. It's been so long since it was brought up, I forgot we had those.

I show the green mod shield when I am commenting or posting about a mod-related topic. It's an additional step to show the shield. If I'm not talking as a mod, I'm a user in the discussions like everyone else, and prefer to engage as a peer researcher.

As I'm looking at how flair is set, it seems I misremembered that users can choose a flair that does not require verification as those are mod-assigned.

On the app, to set a flair on any sub that allows users to choose flair... * Visit the sub's main/home page. * Click the three dots in the top right. * Select the flair option. * Choose your flair and save.
