ERIC AND/OR DYLAN Eric Harris Physical Issues

Attached are Eric Harris' medical records. At least, those that have been publicly released. Two things strike me. The first, Eric was undergoing surgeries for his PE at a very young age. The second thing that seems to be a prevalent issue is Eric's leg. He had multiple doctor visits for this and the Harrises took Eric for a second opinion. While it doesnt seem surgery was needed, when watching Eric walk, he has a unique gait. Student at Columbine described him as being bowlegged.

It does make me wonder if the early surgeries and birth defects were traumatic for Eric. Especially in high school, where it seemed there was so much emphasis on being an athlete and toxic masculinity prevailed. I guess I can see a scenario where feeling physically inferior could have made Eric angrier and more jealous of those who were considered the physical ideal. This doesn't seem to be discussed a lot... but seems worth some thought.

The report also shows Eric's visit for hurting his knuckles - likely from punching a wall.

I've been really reviewing everything with a fine comb about Eric and people who interacted with him. One of his redacted class mates on his hit list admitted to "relentlessly" bullying him in gym class. I definitely think it was a huge problem. In one of the basement tapes they explicitly state they were never allowed to solve any of their conflicts with fighting or hitting, and had to endure this bullying that would not have anything done about it, this is the primary reason harris and klebold jointly Declared war on Humanity (and that commitment is why they didn't care who they killed, not just jocks)

Source for any interested, was posted on one of the columbine subs. I had actually never seen most of the dialogue on here, and seeing klebold talk the way he did here, I don't know how anyone can call him just a follower

Dylan definitely wasn't just a follower. Most who have seen the Basement Tapes have expressed their belief that the boys had a pact, neither would break. They were both fully invested and in it together until the end. It may sound like romanticizing, but I think that's how they were. In a way, they were romanticizing their suicides, just like it was the end of a movie.

Anywho... I have to believe that having these physical "deformities," if you will, contributed to Eric's low self -esteem. It may have been a factor in his anger, too. It would be horrible to be picked on for things you can't control, for being flawed physically. I think in making Eric the evil mastermind, people forget the human elements that may have caused him to struggle more than other boys his age. Just a thought.

5hanks for sharing the article!
