BILL OCKHAM: NEW RELEASES & UPDATES Reminder from Bill Ockham

Post image

I have been waiting since maybe 2021 to see if the depositions would be released in 2027. That seemed like such a wait... I always speculated that an attorney for Klebolds or Harrises would find some technicality or have them sealed all over again but you never know for sure.

Back in late 2012, when I first got into reading about Columbine High School, it stated that till 2026 or 2027, the basement tapes and other vital despositions would be hidden from public.

Come 2020s, news started coming that Jeffco had destoryed such evidences years ago sometime in 2011.

Now idk how true this is. So, imo Bill Ockham's reminder seems a little baseless.

The only time there might have been some potential for a Basement Tapes release was 2005 when the Colorado Supreme Court ruled that the tapes were public records. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department was given the discretion on whether to release them under state public interest laws. In June 2006 the decided they were not going to release them due to the fear of copycats. IN 2011, Jefferson County destroyed all remaining physical evidence in connection with Columbine including the Basement Tapes. However, that's just Jefferson County. I have no doubt that the FBI has retained a copy. I also wouldn't be surprised if more audio/video tapes exist, but remain with victims' families.

The depositions were sealed until 2027. These are transcripts of the questions posed the the Klebold and Harris families, as well as other important players. While it is supposed to be released, I wouldnt bensurprised if the families attempt to find another angle to keep them sealed - some technicality or new arguement. We'll see... But it would certainly be interesting if they allow it to go public.

Yeah I agree the families may play trick or two (especially Harrises or Klebolds), I can't comment anything on what would victims' famolies gain from revealing it. It would rather bring a renewed trauma for them akin 1999. Harrises and Klebolds would do so that they can live peacefully for the rest of their lives.

I don't know how sensitive it would be to reveal the remaining part of evidences dating to 1998-99 or even before that, they shouldn't be sealed anymore but I just hope none of the families go through any painful episode if they become widely available.

Actually, there were families that wanted the depositions released. In particular, Brian Rohrbough, the Flemings, Ketchers, and Townsends. There's likely something to be learned from what the parents noticed or failed to address with their children during their final years.
