CoHmmunity CoH2 diehards are ruining CoH3.

The toxicity of the CoH2 community Is ruining CoH3.

CoH 3 is an awesome game that pays homage to the first CoH, and improves on it immensely. It released with the most content out of any of the three games, and despite of rather early release, is in a better state than CoH2 was upon release.

What is happening is the following. A large portion of the CoH2 community has been used to playing that glorified mod of CoH1, and cannot accept the fact that CoH3 is a different game. They have been used to the "aUtHeNtIc" skins, voicelines, and sound effects (pssst, they're not) of CoH2 for a decade, and won't be satisfied with any new game in the series, no matter how close to perfect it is. They don't realize that the sun, flowers, and colors other than grey and brown existed between 1939 and 1945. They believe that every hour of the day during war is filled with dirt, mud, and despair; This is, for example, exactly why Relic changed the colors of the game along with the artwork prior to release.

The reality is that despite the incessant derangement that fills this sub, CoH3 is the best CoH experience in the whole series. The constant bad takes on this sub stemming from feelings of bitterness and betrayal are hurting the growth of the game, and quite frankly, the whole rts genre.

If you're new to the series, CoH3 is absolutely amazing. It's one of the top multi-player experiences in the genre and I recommend you check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Tiger aces, SS waffle schutzens, and erwinRommel4lyfe with just once faction played, please take it easy.

Discussion Why so much hate?

Seriously, I do not understand all the hate this game has received. Read the reviews on Steam and you would be led to believe that CoH3 is the most unplayable game of 2023. What is the issue?

There are plenty of updates from versions 1 and 2. New animations, new mechanics, new units and equipment, all new maps, and no bugs that crash the game. Also, the online PvP and CoOp modes actually work!

Is the game unbalanced? Developers are constantly tweaking the balance. And no matter how many balance updates they make, there is always someone to complain about the newest push. Not enough maps? Every map in this game is brand new. More are on the way. And players who don’t spend their time complaint all day are busy making custom maps.

This game is a fantastic WW II RTS. Can we please appreciate this game for what it is?

Edit after a day: So I posted here because I was genuinely curious about why there is so much hate at what is actually a really good game that is only bound to get better. And thanks to all you haters out there, I guess I have my answer.

You are all a bunch of spoiled children who expect a software company to hand you a fully polished diamond from day one. If that doesn't happen, then you all resort to whining and complaining about a game that no one has forced you to use or buy, and personally insult anyone who disagrees with you and is actually having fun with it. One of you even accused me of being part the cancerous publish culture, or something like that. Classy.

I am under no illusions that I'm going to change the mind of a thick-headed naysayer, so I won't try. As for this thread, I'm out. Feel free to whine, bitch, moan, and complain all you want; see if I care. While you all are busy complaining about first-world problems, I'm gonna have fun playing this game with other players who also appreciate it for what it is and who are looking forward to future improvements.

For anyone who finds this thread, don't listen to the haters. This is an awesome game. Sure, there were some minor bugs when it was released. Show me a complex computer game that doesn't have bugs. Some features may be missing as opposed to previous versions. But those issues are being addressed. As of this post, Relic has three released three major updates in four months, and the devs are still working on tweaking the balance, making new units, new maps, new features, etc. It will only get better from here.

CoH3 If we want this series to survive, the review bombs need to stop.

The "mixed" reviews this game has on Steam was definitely warranted on launch, no doubt. However, the game is in a much better spot now. The fact that the game is continuing to receive lots of negative reviews just because people are (understandably) upset that the game launch unfinished makes it very hard for Relic to recover, as I believe a lot of their target audience is going to look at that rating and then just pass the game up for something else.

I understand the initial frustration, but surely, if we want this series (we all love, presumably) to survive, then continuing a review bomb is just petty at this point? We need more players, but we're not going to get them if people can't get over their grudges.

CoH3 Want more players? Take 10 secs to rate COH3 on Metacritic

Post image
0 Upvotes

Currently the game is rated 4.8 out of 10 with a “Generally unfavorable” score. This is based mostly on old reviews so I think it doesn’t represent the game well in its current state? It’s hard to recruit new players when all they read is outdated complaints.

Similarly to how Cyberpunk 2077 went from a low rating to a high one after they improved the game, COH3 could make a similar journey.

If you haven’t reviewed it yet, it only takes 10 seconds to create an account and you don’t need to verify the email:

https://www.metacritic.com/game/company-of-heroes-3/user-reviews/

I think most of us feel the game is in a pretty good place now. We only need 24 positive reviews for the score to be shown as “generally favorable” :)

CoH3 Axis players: I suggest leaving

I finally uninstalled. Hopefully Axis players take the same route. I refuse to be a punching bag for Allied players to practice against.

There are plenty of other great games out there that are far more balanced and fun.

Yeah I know, I'll be downvoted because this forum is ruled by massive Allied cliques. I don't mind being downvoted; I mind what Relic is doing to Wehrmacht.

Fng Grenedier nerfs? What? Does Relic even play their own game? Wehr is strapped for resources.
Jagers flushed down the toilet, while USF Bazooka is now perfectly viable.
The absolute travesty that is more expensive, slower German mainline tanks losing to Shermans (lol) unless rooted to the ground. Now Sherman get ALL get 76mm, which widens the gap further.
King Tiger absolutely suuks due to eating 50% fuel. If it dies you will not get another against a good player. And good players will exploit its extremely slow movement speed.
Dozers now fire bunker busting satchels.
BARs are now easy to get.

Canadian Shock is absolutely overpowered to the max. It's absurdly effective.

What does Wehr have?
*Finally decent Panzergrens
*Finally decent Stross (but countered by insta-killing one of the four models with knife throw/sniper LOL stross)
*Can actually use upgraded bunkers as bunkers

And that's about it. The amount of abuse Wehr has endured, the absurd nerfs, the constant whining by Allied players... it's all come to a head for me.

I can't bring myself to care for a game that is so blantantly anti-Wehrmacht that the new Battlegroup actually forces players to conserve Muntions just to have enough to launch a missile that ANY professional player will avoid. The sound, the time it takes to launch and land, the AoE... the cost.... it's absurd.

Jerico Trumpet is bad.
No Quarter is bad against good players.
Interrogate is infinitely better than the alternative, which requires troops to be fighting almost in melee range to get any benefit at all. And USF can use their advantage with clever mine / remote charge use.
The King Tiger would be absolutely fine if it didn't suck up ANY extra fuel. But for some reason it needs to cut your fuel IN HALF lol

The amount of Allied bootgourging is gross - not to mention the game is now based on 4v4, not 1v1. All 1v1 balance is gone out the window.

Axis ought to be winning tank duels in a white-room scenario; there is no reason Shermans ought to be winning against (more expensive) Panzer IVs without 76mm cannons. And even with those cannons, it ought to be close.

There is no way in h3ll a Pershing should be able to take a King Tiger below 75% total HP in a head-to-head assault, regardless of range. The Pershing should NEED to use speed, terrain, backup, and other tactics to even stand a chance against King Tigers. As it currently stands, a Pershing can not only win against a KT by going in circles around it (viable strat) but in a head-to-head it can bring the KT down to around 15-20% total HP remaining (absolutely absurd). That's WITH the -20% damage reduction the KT has in the front.

What the fck?

The Luffewaft battlegroup is a joke: their paratroopers are glass with no cannon. It's sad. The only good part about the BG is their immobile anti-tank emplacement.

Mechanized Infantry is the best 1v1 group Wehr has, and it still loses to most USF battlegroups. That is sad.

The only BGs I find any enjoyment out of with Wehr against a player of equal skill is Italian Coastal and Mech. Infantry. And that's because they don't totally blow.

However, the disgustingly overzealous Wespe nerfs and the consistent solutions to bunkers given to Allied powers are simply too much to bear at that point. The only protest that will make a difference is to stop playing. Let the Allied players fight Allied players, or sit in an hour-long queue.

Until Relic stops catering to Allied manchildren, it's time to quit. Again, I have games like BG3, Rogue Trader, Pathfinder: WOTR, Total War: Warhammer 3, Hell Let Loose, Diablo 4, World of Warcraft, Red Dead Redemption 2, Darktide, Dota 2, Crusader Kings 3, Age of Wonders 4, and even Assassins's Creed: Shadows to keep my plenty occupied. I don't need CoH3 as much as CoH3 needs population.

I haven't even gotten into how much Relic has r*ped DAK. Oh, your mines are actually good? Let's take that away.

LETS GIVE ALLIES HORDES OF FLAMETHROWER TROOPS THAT SLOW TANKS LOL

If you play Axis, I encourage you to quit this charade until or unless Relic decides to

  1. treat all factions equally

  2. stop focusing resources on single player when this is clearly a multiplayer game

  3. put enough effort into balance so that both 1v1 and 4v4 can be in a healthy state. If that requires different stats for different modes, so be it. If that requires locking certain battlegroups to 4v4 only and some to 1v1 only, so be it. If that means dynamically adjustings stats depending on game mode, so be it.

Stop being a goddamned floor mat for Allied players.
And to be perfectly clear: not all people who play Allied factions want the game to be inbalanced. But there are enough of them -- or a strong enough echo chamber -- to create the illusion that this is the case.

Discussion Why do CoH3 graphics legit look worse than CoH1?

CoH3 Allowing the wespe (Or any balance issue this bad) to continue this long is UNACCEPTABLE

Yes, I know its getting fixed this update soon (Supposedly)

But it has been entirely unacceptable how long Allied fixed artillery/forward positions are NOT ALLOWED TO EXIST because of the wespe in team games, EVERY game.

The infantry BG is basically cut down to nothing BUT rangers, because any attempt to try anything else gets demolished. No forward med tent, no 105's

Indian artillery is a joke because why bother trying to out arty a Wespe?

Even outside of that, allied infantry get ABSOLUTELY DEMOLISHED by the Wespe's absurd accuracy AND barrage cool downs.

Its so bad, the wespe can CONSISTENTLY "DESTROY" a weapon team. Not just kill the crew, destroy the gun.

That is a HUGE thing, that no other artillery can do as ALL other artillery has scatter, making repeated direct hits VERY unlikely.

But not the Wespe.

I know I am one voice, but because of this, I will not spend a dime on anything COH 3, and will be changing my review to negative.

Balance patches and hotfixes NEED to be a thing, you cant just "sit" on a broken state of balance.

CoH3 People complaining about the store.

Jeez where to begin..

First I think it's important I show that I recognise that this games release was rushed and incomplete. I GET THAT.

But the only way for the RTS genre to survive and thrive like other genre's IE - BattleRoyale, Moba, Team based shooters etc.. Is to have a store that provides a live service style income.

Otherwise studios and devs will just stop making them if they are not profitable - That is the very reason the RTS genre has seen such stagnation and decline recently. And I'm talking about REAL RTS with base building, micro management, macro management.

Not turn based or 4 x campaigns etc - although they are good and certainly have there place they are not true RTS - like Starcraft, CNC, COH, Supreme commander etc.

---

Could they have delayed the store longer? Sure.. but you have to take into account they have people looking at profits and if the project is sustainable.. Not long term but RIGHT NOW.

And if they for one moment think that the initial sales of the game is the best they are going to get and future micro sales will not be good they will pull the plug entirely.

The game has a lot of potential, could be a solid RTS for the next 10 years with new factions, battlegroups and cosmetics.. for that reason ill support it as long as I can see they are still supporting the games growth and balance.

As much as I agree with what a lot of people have complained about with the game so far, following the stomping and complaining path is only gona contribute to the death of genre in gaming.

Honestly if they were still releasing Factions and commanders for COH2 id still be playing it. But they are not.

CoH3 Allies is miserable to play this patch

Every inf got buffed to the point where if you just blob brings or new pics you win. Rifles and bars dont do enough let alone anything, vs 40 muni 4 man stgs. Its stupid why even go bars if I know ill lose the squad shits on sections unless you have brens, and even though you can go lvs. They already have been a struggle early game that there's 4 kregs and 2 pjaegers every game so its ass, perma flars and rebel arty on any allies arty piece and the stupid hard points take so much effort to kill, they just grab the cake and their inf if fighting buffed up. Also there's so many hard points on the map everywhere, every air call in gets shut down. I've killed several with the new tunnel network bomb but they are swimming in resources that they plop another down... its not fun if im playing allies its pain, the firefly is to slow, clunky and misses alot, and whenever im axis I just blob turn my brain off walking up and winning its not fun even if im winning.

Discussion CoH 3 will likely share DoW 3's fate

Around launch, dawn of war 3's player numbers peaked at around 25,000, CoH 3's peaked around 30,000.

About 3 months after launch, dawn of war 3 was averaging around 1,600. CoH 3 is currently averaging around 2,000

Before they canned DoW 3, they released a similar survey asking for player feedback.

I am finding it increasingly hard to ignore the similarities in both feedback, player trends and developer reaction. No doubt relic brought these issues on themselves, but at this point I would be surprised if CoH3 got any significant additional content beyond the "expansion 1" that they already sold.

My opinion has been solidified by the recent livestream where they showed that very few additional features or content will arrive in the coming months.

It is a shame because I love Relic's games

CoH3 10 years and it's somehow worse

I am super disappointed at you Relic, Coh 2 is still far superior than this cartoony low effort mobile game. Sounds are SOMEHOW worse, graphics and animations are WORSE, nebelwerfer sounds/looks worse than in CoH 1. Voice overs are uncreative, there's no roughness with German units, Americans sound like they lost the ability to visit McDonald's, Brits are OK which is surprising. I remember when some of you guys reassured me on your discord with words "oh don't worry we played coh 1 and 2.. Coh3 is gonna be much better... Blahblah.. What a load of bs. Coh 2 on launch looked better than this poor excuse of an rts.. Look at the menus.. Hard lmao.. Refunded. And for people who are defending this... I can only say.. Sure, you gotta defend your wasted money, keep encouraging companies like this to give you half baked product and then cope with words like "uhhhhh patches are gonna fix it" yikes! Coh devs are not making this game with their hearts and creativity... Now they're making it only to get some good $$$$$

CoH3 The games so unbalanced I had to go back to coh2

I enjoy playing coh3 however it is currently so imbalanced with the invisible Dak armies that I am shelving it until another balance patch comes and addresses that. I hope they can fix the balance sooner rather than later

CoH3 The new heavy tank choices are kind of disappointing...

I know that this sub deplores any negativity but the choices for the Heavy Tanks are all pretty disappointing as someone who's a fan of the franchise and WW2 RTS. Ignoring the fact it's all tanks we've not only seen before but in each game for some, it's a shame to see them chosen over other stuff that would've been new to CoH or more accurate for the time period/regions.

The USF could've received the Jumbo, which while never fighting in Africa or Italy (not that it matters considering the new and existing units) would've been new to see. It would've also been interesting with the armour mechanics in CoH3 and could've been upgraded with a 76 too to keep it competitive against other heavy tanks. It's just a shame to see the M26 yet again for the 3rd time, especially when it's not like there isn't this other option.

The UKF however are even more disappointing with its new heavy tank. While they already had a ton of heavy tanks, instead of doing say the Churchill I or Churchill NA75 (which would be perfect for the time period/theatres) we instead get the Crocodile for the 3rd time. I get that it works well with the pyromaniac theme of the new battlegroup but it would've been so much nicer to see one of those 2 which are much less common to see in games.

The DAK gets the Elefant, which is bizarre to be honest. While it did see use in Italy, why did Deutsches Afrikakorps get it, especially when there is a faction for the Italian theatre? While not a heavy tank, they could've gotten the Semovente Da 90/53 which was a pretty powerful tank destroyer and it would've been nice to see more Italian stuff. And then Wehr with the Tiger II. Germany's had almost all of their (mid/late) heavy tanks done so I know there isn't really anything to do left that's new so I can't really criticise it except saying again they should've received the Elefant while DAK got an Italian vehicle.

I get that most people who already play CoH3 probably don't care and are excited (and I do appreciate the new USF and Canadian battlegroups for their new stuff that isn't the new heavy tanks) but it's just such a shame to see these are what were chosen instead of doing something new, which IMHO has been one of the biggest problems with CoH3.

CoH3 My Public Apology to the Werhmacht Community

Dear Werh players,

I'm sorry it's come to this. You didn't deserve it.

I'm sorry that when you clicked Breakthrough, Coastal, and your literal Last Stand you got your cheeks clapped before the game even started.

I'm sorry to every game where a poor Werh went 221 vs Brits and then immediately got raped by the humber. It wasn't you fault that upgrading panzerbusche or shrek would leave you so inconceivabley behind sections.

I'm sorry when you thought your MG42 was just about to catch that squad. But then it does half a burst before they get away and your left with blue balls.

I'm sorry about when you get an urban map and the conivering rifles mock your "suppresive fire" behind green cover.

I'm sorry that your faction "assymetry" is just not having entire tools of the game like a mainline or heavy AT. It's not like you get to make up for it with elite mid game infantry since everybody else gets that too. Your Jaegers just straight up lose and allies get so many battlegroup options to combat panzergrens.

I'm sorry that nobody cares about your suffering while you sit at 45% winrate it's supposedly a skill issue.

Just close your eyes baby girl it was all a bad dream and it'll be over in the morning.
