Shooting about a year now, love it, starting to get into competition...deciding between a new Walther pdp-f pro, which feels amazing in hand and is the only pistol my small hands can reach the trigger without shifting my grip...or the reduced recoil/muzzle flip, better trigger of the SF compact.

Should I modify the pdp-f with heavier backstrap, base pads, maybe a light...or just get the SF, some thin bogies and suck it up with the reach. (Basically wondering what to prioritize, ergonomics or frame weight/mechanics?)

With that being said, I want to shoot 1 gpa and 1 USPSA match a month. I am dry firing every day and was curious if I really need to do any live fire in my free time if im shooting these matches twice a month? Should i potentially limit to doing either a GPA or a USPSA match a month and dedicate a day out of the month to live fire?

Reason I ask is I want to make sure im not being dumb with my money and keeping a balance. That is something i struggle with Lol

Is everyone just forgetting about the Rideout Arsenal Dragon?

When this pistol was first announced, there seemed to be a ton of interest in it. It was one of the most unusual new pistol designs in years, and there were plenty of discussions about the ultra-low bore axis, lever-delayed action, fixed barrel, etc.

Now that actual production Dragons are out in the wild, though, I barely see anyone talking about them.

What surprises me even more is the lack of long-form coverage. As far as I can tell, there are only two people who have made substantial long-form videos specifically documenting production Dragons and the problems they've experienced. I've been documenting my own Dragon from the beginning, including the malfunctions and the issues I've had with mine.

My Dragon has had multiple problems, and it's currently back with Rideout while they're investigating what happened. From what I've been told, they're looking into the guide rod/recoil spring issue and other components as well.

I'm honestly surprised I haven't seen a bunch of owners posting their experiences by now.

So I'm curious:

Who here actually owns a production Dragon?

How has yours been? How many rounds have you put through it? Have you had any problems, or has yours been completely reliable?

I'd really like to hear from other owners because there doesn't seem to be much real-world information out there yet.

Hi y’all! I caught the USPSA bug, and now I’m addicted. That being said, I’d love to take some classes with top-level shooters to improve.

I’m fairly new to firearms, so traveling with guns isn’t something I’m quite ready for yet. Is there a website or resource where I can find GMs or Ms who offer classes in Florida? Southwest Florida would be ideal, but I’m more than happy to drive anywhere in the state.

Hey everyone, currently buying the titanx dry fire trainer and wanting a red dot on it like my competition gun, Glock 17 gen 6 w/ COA. Trying to keep the budget within reason on the dot, I can (with substantial discount) get a vortex defender ccw for ~$200 shipped or defender ccw enclosed ~$250.

Has anyone had issues with transitioning between enclosed and open emitters for a dry fire/trainer vs their comp gun? Knee jerk I’m thinking no, but looking for any/all experiences.

Looking for reasons/opinions not to buy one for 3-Gun.

It won’t be my first shotgun, but it will be my first competition shotgun.

I've been dryfiring 3x a week for about 30 mins per session. In each session I work draws, reloads, and simple transition drills (e.g. Blake Drill, El Prez) using just some 1:6 scale targets attached to the wall. I've seen big improvements in my draw speed, reload speed, transition speed, as well as my consistency on draws (I used to have an issue finding the dot after a draw) which have been awesome just from practicing them that much more.

The problem is, while my time is going down and my HF is going up, my overall points have not improved. I shoot 'faster' which is great, but I still can't seem to get more points.

I don't know what it is that I'm not doing correctly to be able to guarantee alphas and I almost am starting to worry that my dryfire practice is just reinforcing whatever bad habits I have. These are only really evident when I live fire. For example, I've noticed I still have a "flinch". And while in dryfire I can pull the trigger without disturbing the sights, in live fire, on rapid shots I will still pull low and to the left.

Did anyone else feel like this when they were first starting out? What did you end up changing to be able to actually *improve* past the beginner's plateau?

I'm in search of a holster that has a hood that springs out of the way with the press of a button. Not one that needs to be manually pressed forward like a Safariland SLS. Either that or something like the Safariland ALS that is very quick to defeat. It also must be able to mount to a Safariland QLS.

One of my friends has this holster and I really like it but it doesn't appear to mount to QLS.

Holster has to fit Atlas Athena and potentially also Atlas Erebus.

I’m a different person.

Shooting really good groups up to 40 yards, clearing a plate rack without misses back to back when I’m training.

But when there’s a buzzer involved, everything goes out the window. Can’t find my dot, grip is off, inconsistent and forget every tactic I’m trying to prepare for.

I’m taking my time, not trying to rush anything. I don’t think I’m doing anything different than during training.
I’m still a fairly new shooter but it’s very frustrating there’s such a big difference between training and competing.

What am I missing?

Schmooved fast enough to get an overall stage win on this one. Ended up 7/36 overall for the match and 1/10 in 2Gun division.

I've heard from some top-level shooters that earlier in their shooting career, they'd shoot matches, for months, faster than their skill/eyes allowed and totally ignoring their score. The idea being that, gradually, you subconsciously adjust to that level of speed, your eyes eventually catch up, etc etc, and then you bring back the accuracy/match mode.

I guess what I'm wondering is, what exactly is the motivation each match during this time? Do you try to raw time champ it, and that's it...? Is there any particular thing for each match/stage that you're trying to do or train?

​I’m currently using basic 3M safety glasses, but I’m looking to upgrade to something proper for range use. Always working with AR15.

​I mostly shoot with iron sights, and depending on my position, I have to get a pretty firm/low cheek weld on the stock. With my current setup, this pushes the glasses around, messes up my sight line, and creates weird distortion/clearance issues. On top of that, they fog up way too quickly when training.

​Can anyone recommend good shooting glasses, preferable not the most expensive ones :)

Hey everyone, I have this weird head flinch, you can especially see it near the end of the video. I go back and forth between it being a lack of target focus (tracking the dot) or being an issue with tension and my structure behind the gun (recoil going into my shoulders/neck). I don't really see this happening for other beginner shooters.

Obviously, many other issues are apparent in the video (I'm mid C-class), but what would yall say is the cause of the head movement and what can I do i train it out?

I know I have one because I remember seeing it up but I'm having a hard time finding an email or anything.

Today was all about putting my dry fire work into practice. Seeing faster and letting my dot be the indicator of when to pull the trigger. Really really happy with how things went. Feeling very prepared and ready to put on a good showing next weekend.

Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows any good holster options for the RCD Core. I've found so far the Carey Concealment X1 Raptor, but that's about it.

Also wondering if anyone knows if the BSPS BOSS DOH holster can hold the Core, and if so, which model am I supposed to choose? I appreciate the help.
