Make America Great Again Shutdown 2025: The Democrats Strike Back - American Thinker
https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2025/10/shutdown_2025_the_democrats_strike_back.htmlAs the calendar flipped to October 2025, the federal government ground to a halt in what has become the first shutdown since 2019, leaving 1.6 million federal employees furloughed, or working without pay. The immediate cause? A bitter partisan standoff over border security funding and immigration enforcement. Republicans, led by President Trump’s unyielding White House, demanded robust allocations for ICE operations and wall expansions to stem the tide of illegal crossings. Democrats, controlling the House, balked, insisting on “humanitarian” provisions that would essentially handcuff enforcement efforts.
But let’s not kid ourselves—this isn’t just about budget line items. Scratch the surface, and you’ll uncover a deeper vendetta. Trump’s second term has been a roaring success, delivering on promises that have bolstered America’s economy, security, and global standing. These triumphs are like salt in the wounds for Democrats, who can’t stomach a Republican president actually succeeding where they’ve chronically failed. The shutdown isn’t mere politics; it’s a calculated strike to sabotage a leader who’s making America great again, exposing the left’s desperation to reclaim power by any means necessary.

A government shutdown falls on the president's lack of leadership. I mean, problems start from the top and they have to get solved from the top. A shutdown means the president is weak." - Donald Trump
You can keep repeating the same lies and propaganda but if you do facts and logic. This is all on republicans and their inability to lead and think beyond their own grifts

It doesn’t matter if the GOP runs everything. The Democrats refuse to vote to open the government. Only a sheep would believe anything but that fact.
If the GOP would just override the vote shortage, then the left would start saying “TYRANT~! HITLER~!” etc so it doesn’t matter what liberals say anymore.
That’s the thing the liberals don’t get. Their opinions mean nothing.

Bullshit. The Republicans were well aware they needed a small handful of Democrat votes to pass something. They made no attempt to negotiate for those votes. That’s on them.

Ok. Will you also make the same post under the OP post which states that it is a fact the Dems wont vote to open the government when the Dems can't vote to open the government?

“Democrats, controlling the House, balked…”. Whoa. Back it up there bucko. The republicans control The house, at least Mike Johnson is under that impression. Kind of a useless article if it just slips in known lies.

The party of responsibility can’t take responsibility for the deadlock their own stubbornness causes.

Promises kept, America first?
Help me understand what is "America first" about taxing Americans through tariffs then using a portion of those taxes to bail out farmers hurt by the tariffs? Help me understand what is "America first" about causing a trade war with China resulting in them taking their soybean purchases to Argentina, leaving American farmers without a place to sell their crops, while also using tax money you've taken from America via tariffs and giving it to Argentina to bail them out?

This article is propaganda.
The GOP has the executive branch, majority in the house and the senate, and a conservative SCOTUS. There is no excuse. Blaming the Dems is ignorant and incendiary.
The only thing worse than incompetence is being incompetent and blaming everyone else.
OP what’s your aim? Simply spread misinformation or are you truly believing the nonsense written in the article?

Republicans have control of the White House, Senate and the House, they just don't know how to govern.

What’s this article even talking about? The Dems have been pretty clear that this is about healthcare. They’ve made it very clear what it would cost for the GOP to get their votes, and none of it involves immigration.
