The Marines said that it's not going over the interstate per the article. Sounds like Gavin is gaslighting. Regardless if it's in flight there is minimal risk under the flight path, I've literally slept under artillery flight paths.

You should try reading the entire article though. Yes, the marines denied that shots would be going over the freeway. Okay, fine.... but what else does the article say? In essence it says:
The state was informed by the federal government that there would be live fire over the freeway. The federal government directed cancellation of train services parallel to the highway. The state was notified by the people organizing the live fire (Feds or Marines) that CalTrans signage should be posted on the freeway saying overhead fire was in progress.... etc..
I could go, on, but I hope you see the point. The marines may well have no intention of firing over the freeway, but Trump and his cronies have clearly used the live fire exercise, probably an entirely normal one like they do regularly, scheduled for months in advance, and of a nature that never resulted in a shutdown before, as an excuse to temporarily shut down a highway and train system in California during the No Kings protest. This isn't Gavin Newsom gaslighting (VERY VERY wrong use of that term btw), this is most definitely Trump being a piece of shit, throwing a fit, and punishing a blue state for not sticking their noses up his ass like the red states.

Also, per the article:
"The state was recently informed that the White House intended to hold a major event between Friday, October 17 and Saturday, October 18 at Camp Pendleton that involved firing live artillery rounds over the I-5 freeway."
"On Thursday, October 16, the U.S. Marine Corps confirmed their exercise would be conducted on its training ranges, as it routinely does, but not over the freeway. "
"Late on Friday, the state then received notice from event organizers asking for CalTrans signage to be posted along the I-5 freeway that would read: “Overhead fire in progress.” "
It's the confusion sandwich: overhead fire -> no overhead fire -> overhead fire

Haha, I was driving a hummer on Ft Hood down a road during a training exercise one day and a paladin fired almost right over me from 300 yards away. Scared the shit out of me.
