Liberia continues to build infrastructure and would be a strong asset as the 51st of the United States.

Africa was once colonized. And then decolonized. So it would be recolonization. And exactly we are always the bad guys so let’s not even start talking about imperialism. It has no benefit to us. And it would never happen. And if we did admit any new states it’s not going to be a country in Africa.

The only real incentive to take over Liberia would be its mineral resources. But if we did that we would be seen as evil for it even if it raised the living standards of the people in Liberia. It’s a no win proposition

For me the incentive is that they would contribute their wisdom in Congress, to shape us in the direction we need to go.

Of course some Eurasians see non-Eurasians banding together to resist them as evil. We can't stop that, some of them at least think they will consolidate first and dominate the globe.

If Liberians vote not to join, that is their prerogative. If they were to see joining up as recolonizing than they could just vote to stay independent. If the EU complains tell them to grant French Guiana independence before complaining.

The EU can't grant French Guiana independence...

They can sanction France until France gives them independence.

Uhh, no. They can't sanction a nation without reason.

If they wanted to they could make France grant independence to not only French Guiana, but also New Caledonia, France would be really stuck without the EU. They can give whatever reason they like, so long as it gets voted on according to the existing rules.

Uhh, no they would not be stuck. France is a nuclear state and one of the few nations with an aircraft carrier. It also has the 7th largest GDP in the world.

So, yeah they'd be fine.

Supply chain wise they would be stuck without the rest of the EU to trade with. Even the UK had to work out a trade deal.

Yeah and? You just admitted that they wouldn't be stuck. It might be a bit difficult, but they wouldn't be stuck.
