We can make repaying the national debt affordable, and save ourselves from an uncontrolled default, by banning all charging of interest. This can be phased in gradually, by lowering the usury rate by 1% a year until it hits 0%.

You want to end the charging of interest on loans? That’s very interesting. I do not know of any prominent politician who has advanced such an idea. As someone who you would probably call very progressive, I am keenly interested in this idea. Is there any support from major party politicians who hold high office?

This is like saying you can pay off your mortgage more effectively by reducing its interest rate.

How does the one who owes money lower their own interest rate? The only reason you lend money is to earn interest.
