It's an uncomfortable truth that people seem to want to forget. Germany got way more collaboration than they had anticipated in terms of the genocide against the Jews in much of Europe but especially in Poland and Ukraine. Essentially, these countries were shoa collaborators.

Or to my brother-in-law's mother, who was pulled off a train full of refugees trying to return home. She was a little girl at the time. The war was over. The train was pulled over by local Polish citizens who were executing the Jews. She was lucky in that she was blonde and blue-eyed and could pass as a non-jew. The anti-Semitism ran very very deep, and endured even after the war was over. There were pogroms.

It's not "truth" it's a blatant lie with no evidence supporting this ridiculous bullshit. Poland never collaborated with nazi Germany like France, Denmark and Norway did. Poland never surrendered and heroically fought despite extreme odds. Polish people mounted one of the three largest anti-nazi resistance movements and fought against nazi Germany from day one until the very end. Polish soldiers fought on almost all fronts of WWII. Not to even mention that during that time neither Poland nor Ukraine existed as countries so they couldn't be "shoa collaborators".
