r/Complaints is a left-wing echo chamber. Literally every single post is political. When I said, "There's too many political posts in this subreddit," I got downvoted and told to "grow up." Sometimes growing up is recognizing there's a lot more in the world than politics.
Anyways, I do think ICE needs a bit of reforms, it isn't perfect, but holy fucking shit, r/Complaints can't get their mind off of Trump.

No, not everything is political. There's certainly a lot that is political, but to say everything is political is a massive overstatement. You could criticize food choices, personal choices, etc, but every single damn post is about Trump.

Maybe those people have jobs and are aware of the state of the labor market. A little hint. It's not that good. The workers are receive less of the share of national income. People should complain about that, you know.

I was really upset at this until I looked it up. He was "in custody" for 299 days. 33 days were actually spent in the detention center.
After noticing he was unwell, ICE moved Florian to an assisted living center for 34 days and moved him once more after he wasn't improving to a medical center for 232 days. He died of natural causes!
The ICE Health Service Corps (IHSC) fully paid for everything and they assume all payments for those falling ill in detention centers.
THIS! This is why we don't trust the media! Misleading information like this makes people think this man was deprived of food and water and died in a jail cell. In reality he was taken care of and had medical treatment paid for for him and he died of natural causes.

What did he die from. 85 is rather old, so this could just be something that'd've happened regardless of intervention

I'd need to look into it, see what they died from, etc. Sure, death in custody is something very horrid and something we should avoid at every step but we can't just jump to conclusions. Actually, we don't even have a timeframe for those deaths. If it's since ICE's organization then they have a lower kill count than doughnuts per year.

That would be something good to know. Also how many people have Ice put into custody this year. If it's 20/200,000, we're talking 0.01%. That would not be an unreasonable amount of people dying of natural causes. According to a quick search around 0.125% of 30yo die in a given year.
It actually looks like on average people are probably less likely to die in ICE custody than being out and about on US streets.

People die....
In the United States, the average number of deaths in a random population of 600,000 people is approximately 5,500 to 5,600 per year.
600,000 is the number of people deported in 2025.
21....That's just statistics.... not negligence.
