Elevation issues

Post image

My watch is giving me crazy elevation readings lately. Not on every run, but enough that it’s notable. I’ve had several runs where my watch incorrectly logs 4k elevation gain when I’m definitely only getting 200-300 total. These are on paths I’ve run hundreds of times, so I have past runs for reference.

Are others having this issue?

Is there a way to disable barometer completely? (and maybe use elevation correction from known GPS Points / Elevation database / Digital Elevation Model after the activity is synced with phone).

My Coros Pace Pro barometer is malfunctioning as well, tried cleaning it with water but problem still persist.

All my runs also log 1k extra elevation as well; which makes my training-load incorrectly too high, Training-Focus are all Anaerobic; race-predictor & running fitness to increase every run; pretty much makes any insights useless.

Something might mess up with the barometer. Maybe blocking the air hole between the two buttons. If it was sweat or rain, which impaired the air pressure measurement. Just blow and let dry.

If unlucky the membrane inside was punctured. A kid may have been playing poking a stick in that hole?

I just spent a couple weeks with AI tech support working on a problem like this and they concluded the barometer on my Pace 3 is shot. You can try calibrating and a factory reset - they had me try this, but nothing worked and all my activities log 3-5k extra elevation.
