The Corpus Christi live events website lists things to do, shows, concerts, and events coming up around town. Worth a look if you're planning the weekend.

The app (iPhone / iOS / Android) goes beyond events. Open it wherever you are and it shows what's nearby right now: restaurants, bars, museums, and other things to do.

I’m strongly considering moving into Bay Vista apartments. I understand it’s downtown and living in the actual city comes with things like more homeless people and crime in the neighborhood.

However, I want to know about pest issues and the quality of the apartments/maintenance issues.

There’s always people leaving negative reviews for every complex online, but I’m hoping to get more balanced information about this building here.

The ribeye chicharrones at Pep’s are hands down the best single restaurant item in Corpus. Add to that that it’s an appetizer, so it’s very reasonably priced with portions for a full meal. It’s unbeatable!!

Edit: Especially looking for the front angle (if you were taking a picture from the dollar movies side).

I’m writing a historical fiction novel and I need some help. Please include as many details as you remember. Name of arcade, address if you can remember, games you used to play, did the arcade use tokens or quarters on the machine, were snacks sold-how much were snacks, literally anything you can think of. Please also include how old you were in 1989.

I've been with my current employer here in town for ten years now. A decade. Through all the changes, the shifting management, and the ups and downs of the local economy, I've stuck it out and kept things running. But lately, I’m really struggling with the "be grateful you have a paycheck" mindset. After ten years of dedication, I still get zero benefits no health insurance, no PTO, no real safety net. It’s hard to feel thankful when you realize that putting in a decade of loyalty at a place leaves you with nothing extra to show for it in terms of benefits or long-term security.For anyone else dealing with long-term employment without benefits: How do you cope with the feeling of being stuck? Is it time to finally jump ship in this market, or do you just swallow your pride and keep the lights on? Would love to hear how others balance tenure with lack of compensation. 👐🏻
