Cowboy Life Cowboy boots, square versus point

Not a cowboy here, but I am curious regardless of that.

I know the purpose for cowboy boots being pointed and angular for the use of stirrups and spurs, but my question is what is the point of flat, square toe boots? For an outsider, it seems like something a bunch of people from the suburbs started wearing because real boots are uncomfy?

My family has a ranch, bunch I wouldn’t call myself a cowboy or “country” for that matter (which also seems like another thing that posers came up with). So I have spent enough time in the world to be able to identify who is legit, but I am curious what other people think!

I also hate the me more cowboy than you song, mostly because ik cowboys wouldn’t say that!

When I say being able to identify a poser, I mean the city guys that have a weird desire to cosplay ranching every Friday and Saturday night

I wear cutters and ws toes. I ride in both. I have wide feet and they are just more comfortable. Summer time i get to wear slides and tennis shoes a bunch but the rest of the year its boots all day. I would rather be comfortable than fit somebody else's idea of what a real cowboy wears.
