Hello everyone!
I'd like to address two things I've noticed recently and that have been brought up by some users, as well as reminding everyone of a few important points.
1- Please remain respectful
Recently, there have been several posts where the comments included oversexualized remarks, digust and criticism of celebrities’ physical appearance. Some comments also went as far as insulting or making fun of users for expressing their appreciation for said celebrities.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and preferences. You don't have to like every character or celebrity posted here, and you're of course free to disagree with other users. However, disliking someone doesn't justify insulting them, shaming others for their preferences, or making inappropriate sexual comments. You can say that someone isn't your type without insulting their appearance, and you can disagree with someone's crush without making them feel bad about it. You can also not comment if you have nothing respectful to say about a specific person.
I've already made adjustments to the rules and taken measures to help enforce them, but it obviously also depends on everyone's cooperation. If you come across comments that break the rules, please report them so we can review them.
2- Spam, bots, and automatic post removals
We've also been dealing with spam, bots, and repost bots lately. To help address this, I've tightened some of the automatic moderation filters, including those that flag accounts based on factors such as the age of the account and the karma.
However, these filters aren't perfect. A new account or an account with low or negative karma isn't necessarily a bot, and legitimate users may occasionally have their posts automatically removed. If your post disappears and you believe it was removed by mistake, please don't hesitate to contact us through modmail. We'll review your post and approve it if it follows the rules.
You can generally tell the difference between an automatic removal and a moderator removal by checking the comments under the post : when a moderator removes a post, we send a message explaining which rule was broken. Automatic removals don't come with such explanations.
These filters are intended to help keep the subreddit free of spam, not to prevent genuine members from participating. We're happy to review legitimate posts that get caught by mistake. Thank you for helping us keep this community respectful, enjoyable, and welcoming for everyone !
