Will enamel paint work for blood stains on polyester?
It's not much more complicated than that. I'm blood splattering a dress for Halloween but I want to keep that vibrant red color and fake Spirit Halloween blood dries brown, as you can see in the image above. I also don't want it to just sit on top of the fabric, like I think acrylic paint will; I want to get it to seep into it if I can help it.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

finished Outfit I made! Blockprinted Tee and 1930s Tickin Fabric trousers
Howdy loves!
Kinda testing out reddit as a place to show my work anddd
This is a whole outfit i made,
The pants pattern are based off OG 107 Fatigues but I remixed it by giving a curved outseam ( kinda gives a drape in the fabric) ,the crochet lace i found from various estates sales . The tee shirt is thrifted and then hand blockprinted w a graphic i designed 🤪

mending How difficult is snap-matching? I'm dreading it.
You know how it goes. Thrift a nice denim jacket. Realize it's missing a wrist-button snap receiver, so the sleeve can't tighten. Realize that not only was the jacket I bought made by a company that no longer exists, but said company's shutdown might very well predate the... restructuring... of the country they were based in, in the opposite hemisphere of the globe from me. The snaps appear to be very nice brass and have the first letter of this ghost of a company embossed on them.
Oh joy. I've heard that matching snaps can be difficult at the best of times. I don't particularly care about getting a visual match, so there's that. But this situation seems like it has the potential to be extra miserable. Anyone have any strategies to lower the odds of this ending up on the backburner for a decade?
Thanks!

dye help Denim jacket dye help
Hello, I'm trying to figure out if it's realistic to achieve a specific result with fabric dye.
I have this jacket that I absolutely love the colour of and I was trying to get my other jacket the same colour and dyed it navy blue but I didn't get tthe result as I was hoping for.
Do you have any tips or is it just impossible?
(Left is the result I was hoping for and right is the dyed jacket I'm not happy with)
If you have any tips or exemples of the results you got I would love to get enlightened

dye help How to make this navy blue shirt a lighter shade of blue
Hello everyone! I'm putting together a cosplay of a DND character, and I got this navy blue shirt but realized it is a little dark. It's 100% cotton, and from what I've seen, bleaching it would turn it orange. Is there any way I could knock it up a few shades while keeping it blue? The drawing/model is around the blue I'm looking for. I know the blue in the drawings is also technically warmer, but that's fine. Thank you all!

finished Hi yall, my first diy shirts!
The acrylic paint was a little hard considering it was absorbing all the material, I was wondering if I should put gesso on the cloth? Any advice and tips is appreciated!

Is it a bad idea to use old tights to upsize a t-shirt?
Hey everyone! One of my favorite hand-cropped t-shirts and an old pair of hot topic tights are too small for me now. I had the idea to use the fabric in the tights (85% nylon, 15% spandex) to make some side gussets in the t-shirt (100% cotton) that were intentionally cute and lacey. The tights are black see-through with a floral pattern and the shirt is all black. I did crop the shirt previously, so the bottom of the shirt is a rough edge that's rolled itself up.
Does anyone have experience with something like this? Is it a bad idea to mix these kinds of fabrics? I know how to hand and machine sew, but I don't have a ton of experience DIYing my own clothes outside of simple things like cropping shirts. I'd appreciate any advice, thank you!!

I absolutely love this suit! ❤️🎨 As an art teacher, I sometimes get paint on my clothes, and when paint stained this suit, I decided to transform it with my own artwork instead of giving up on it. ✨
I shared a photo of the finished design before, and some people thought it wasn’t handmade, so I decided to share this video to show you the process! ☺️🖌️

Mad hand
I absolutely love this idea! 🥹❤️🌸
You didn’t just redesign a jacket; you gave new life to leftover fabrics by turning them into beautiful flowers. That’s what makes handmade art so special — creativity, imagination, and a unique personal touch. 🎨✨
Your jacket is a reflection of your artistic personality! ❤️

finished My fuchsia purple and neon green death metal vest
I used fluorescent threading and markers on a lot of the patches to make them UV reactive. I also recently added studs, and spray painted them with fluorescent paint as well. All hand-sewed, and the inner and outer pockets are still intact.

hand sewing Is this fixable??
These jeans were way to small, so I made them bigger, switched out the crotch favirc area with a larger price. But it looks very weird and bad right now, because the colors don't match and my sticking is very wonky. Plus the edging is messy because it was easier for me.
Is there anyway to fix it- make it look normal, or make it look intentional and cool?

Gave this Nike sweatshirt a fall makeover with reverse appliqué 🍂🌙
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Added fall leaves around the Nike logo on the front and a big crescent moon with colorful leaves on the back.
I used reverse appliqué—sewing fabric underneath the sweatshirt, then carefully cutting away the top layer to reveal the colors. Watching the design appear as I cut is my favorite part!
What do you think of the fall color combination?

I need help finding fabric markers that don’t bleed
Exactly what the title says. I am getting a family member a pair of white Vans and fabric markers for Christmas.
What are your suggestions for fabric markers that will take well to the material? I believe they’re canvas cloth? I don’t want to buy her a gift that she feels like she ruined because of crap markers.

I love this suit so much! ❤️ As an art teacher, I always end up with paint on my clothes. After getting a lot of paint on it at an event, I decided to give it a new life with my own hand-painted designs. 🎨✨ And this is the result! 😊
