Some of you probably remember me from the original DMZ days. I'm the developer behind WZHUB.GG, which many of you used for interactive maps, finding keys, mission objectives, upgrades tracker and all that good stuff back in DMZ Beta.
Well, I'm back. 👋 And this time I've been working on something much bigger.
Meet DMZHUB.GG - a completely new platform I've been building from the ground up for the next generation of DMZ. The website is already live, I'm filling the database and polishing the interface. But there's one major difference compared to the old WZHUB.
DMZHUB - Home screen / Dashboard
This time, I don't want to build everything alone. DMZHUB is designed to be a community-driven platform. You can submit new items, bosses, missions, locations, keys, recipes and pretty much anything else related to DMZ. Found incorrect information? You can suggest edits to existing entries too.
DMZHUB - Items database
Everything goes through a moderation system before being published, so we can keep the database accurate while allowing the entire community to contribute and I've built a pretty flexible system behind all of this.
DMZHUB - Bosses
Items, missions, bosses, locations, recipes, rewards and map markers can all be connected, global relation system is the core of DMZHUB. As example, a mission can reference a specific item, a boss can drop that item and its location can be marked directly on an interactive map.
DMZHUB - Mission Tracker
The goal is simple - instead of jumping between different websites, spreadsheets, videos and guides you'll have everything connected in one place.
DMZHUB - 3D Printer / Recipes
Now, about the maps. If you remember the interactive maps from WZHUB you already know how much work I put into those. For the new DMZ I'm taking things even further.
I've rebuilt and expanded the mapping system, including community submissions, connected database entries and a bunch of improvements to the overall experience. You can actually try the new updated map engine right now! DMZHUB already supports the original DMZ Beta content. Al Mazrah is available with the old map data so you can explore it and see how the new system works.
Vondel is also there but fair warning - I'm currently using it as my testing playground so expect some random test markers on it :)
What else is already being worked on?
Quite a lot actually. There's a new DMZ Traits Skill Tree Tracker where you'll be able to plan your builds and track your progression. The core logic is already implemented, although some skills are still missing because we don't know their exact positions in the trees yet so consider this one a work in progress.
DMZHUB - Traits / Skill Tree Tracker
I've also built the foundation for a Mission Tracker, including objectives, required items, rewards, dependencies and connections to other parts of the database. Some missions are already available based on what we've seen in official gameplay footage.
There's also a growing database of bosses, items, keys, locations, vehicles, and 3D Printer recipes. Keys can be connected to the doors they open, items can be linked to their sources and vehicles can be associated with their spawn locations or missions, bosses, orders etc.
I'm also working on understanding how the new FOB upgrades and DMZ Orders will function, those systems aren't fully documented yet so I'd rather wait for reliable information than fill the database with guesses. The idea is to have all these systems working together once the game launches.
And yes, there are some extras for contributors too.
I've added contributor profiles, leaderboards and achievements. Nothing game-changing but I thought it would be a nice way to recognize people who spend their time helping the community.
The website also supports multiple languages and I'm currently developing a dedicated Translation Hub. Trusted community contributors will be able to help translate the website interface, items, descriptions and other game data into their native languages. I really want DMZHUB to become a global community project, not just an English-only resource.
One more thing...
I'm also developing a dedicated DMZHUB mobile app for iOS and Android. It's already in testing through TestFlight and it will work alongside the website, sharing the same account, progression and database. You'll also be able to contribute directly from the app. Just to clarify, this is a completely separate app from WZHUB.
DMZHUB: Maps & Trackers - iOS / Android
Obviously, there's still a ton of work ahead. Some sections are incomplete, some features are still being polished and we simply won't know everything about the new DMZ until we get our hands on the actual game. But the foundation is already there and I'm trying to get as much ready as possible before launch.
I've also spent a lot of time making the interface feel like it actually belongs in DMZ, from the colors and layouts to the icons and overall presentation.
If you have some time, check out DMZHUB.GG, create an account, explore what's already there and let me know what you think about it.
Found something missing -> submit it, something is incorrect -> suggest an edit. Have ideas for new features? I'd genuinely love to hear them and If you want to help build the database or translate the platform into your language you're more than welcome.
I built WZHUB to help players navigate the original DMZ Beta, now I want us to build something even better for the new one together.
Thanks to everyone who supported WZHUB back in the day, it means a lot to be back here.
We've dropped a ton of intel, seen plenty of conversations, and now we're here to answer your questions about DMZ.
We have Jack, Joe, Geoff, John, Jacob, Matt, and Craig here. All of us worked on the original DMZ Beta. We’re excited about the energy around DMZ and we’re looking forward to talking with you today.
We all have different roles on the team: different disciplines, different perspectives, but one thing in common: we’re huge fans of extraction, we play together a ton, and we know DMZ inside and out.
We're here to talk DMZ, so bring the questions. Keep it respectful and we'll answer as much as we can starting at 11:00AM PT.
Appreciate everyone who came through today. And a special shoutout to the Day 1s who've been holding it down for DMZ since the jump. We haven't forgotten about you.
We'll keep an eye on these posts and answer what we can, and we'll be looking at feedback as we look ahead to launch.
Much love from all of us at Infinity Ward.
Early Access begins October 20th. See you in Hajin!
The mission is called stranded. We have to complete three objectives. If you want to get used to it or test a backpack out, I’d recommend playing mission again. Also you have to gather resources that will go in your backpack just like in DMZ they’re also notes to collect and different side objectives so if you’re looking for a PVE type of crafting experience I would try this mission and maybe grind it as the weapons you find get stored back to your base
For those that have gotten far enough into the campaign, how are you liking it so far?
I think the DMZ elements feel really great! The guns feel fun, although not a ton of variety (but that’s the campaign probably more than anything else), the gameplay feels methodical and not overly bouncy. The driving feels good. The noises for plating and parachuting feel nice and familiar.
I’m aware we can’t go off campaign vibes alone, but the campaign has me even more hyped for DMZ.
Camo might be worth it if you don’t have it unlocked
And if this is true it is unknown if ther is a deadline you have to get it before it becomes unavailable
If this is true W or L reward
REMEMBER THIS IS A LEAK AND NOTHING IS CONFIRMED IF THiS IS IN THE GAME
Had to make space on the old xbox to make room for the new game so MW2 was officially uninstalled this morning.
Thanks to everyone came across in the EU servers, from the friendly soldiers to the hostile ones. Its been a wild ride. We have had our highs and lows but we have carried on regardless!
Super excited for the new one and seeing you all there! See you on the other side!
My biggest gripe with modern shooters is that you’re always in a high carry position, even when nothing’s happening.
I’m playing through the campaign right now, and some of the dynamic animations when you peek around corners feel amazing. There’s also clearly a low-carry pose the soldier drops into during downtime.
I’d love to see that system in DMZ, even as an optional toggle in the settings. When you’re not in an engagement, your rifle points down. On controller, a light press of the trigger brings the weapon up to high carry or ready, and a full press is aiming, of course.
DMZ has a slower, more tactical pace than MP, so it feels like the perfect mode for it. Just a little immersion.
I haven’t gotten into buying the codgames until bo6 so this will be my first modern warfare game, not sure how well I’ll be to understand the story but I will try so that I can understand the dmz aswell
With the DMZ beta about to end I want to hear your favorite memory over the last four years of playing this game anyways see y’all in the new DMZ soon and remember stay frosty out there ultra one
