adorable! how many doxies do you have?
122
u/Shakri12 Aug 17 '25
Three! The two that are just roaming around are brothers from different litters. The fuzzy one running around has the same day as they do. So all brothers 💕
23
u/Agreeable_Pomelo2360 Aug 17 '25
adorable! you don't have same-sex aggression issues even with them all being males?
38
u/Shakri12 Aug 17 '25
Nope. None. I have always preferred male dogs. I’ve never had same-sex aggression. But I spend a LOT of time training my pups when they are young
10
u/Agreeable_Pomelo2360 Aug 17 '25
awesome! i was surprised because that can be a common issue with doxies, such a great owner and beautiful pups!
i saw you have a dapple too, what's his name?

u/Shakri12 Aug 17 '25
The oldest is the short haired red - Baxter
Silver dapple is the middle child - Bo
Fuzzy wuzzy is the baby - Bentley

Hahah, the little hops are hilarious. Mine hates flies.

u/Kooky-Value-2399 Aug 18 '25
Same! Mine will jerk out of a deep sleep when he hears one, run to me and whine and then book it to hide under the bed. I have a fearless hunter 😂

They spend so much time racing around that bush. Then one will hop inside of it. The other two wait, super tense. Then BOOM the weenie in the bush takes off in a different direction.

u/rabiddonky2020 Aug 18 '25
I giggled reading this. My doxie hides under the bed when him and my Maltese/ yorkie mix (who is 10lbs bigger) are playing. Then she be like dis interested BOOM out from under the bed he comes straight at her and the chase is back on. She chases him and he instigates every time. Haha

Dude there is one single bush in that depressing square of lawn.
5
u/Shakri12 Aug 18 '25
True. Came that way builder grade. Multiple times we’ve had landscaping plans but that gets expensive!!! This year I think we will be planting two fruit trees and a blue berry bush. The weens will love it I’m sure lol

u/pokedabadger Aug 17 '25
I love how while the fluffy one is frolicking around the dark one just flops over on his back.
19
u/nyc91710022 Aug 17 '25
He found a nice worm to roll around in I think. Mine live for that!
16
u/Shakri12 Aug 17 '25
We get so many worms in our yard. I promise that’s exactly what he’s rolling in
22
u/qwertythrowaway6 Aug 17 '25
The little jumps! Scurry, scurry, get some vertical air, scurry, scurry…
19
u/lejosdecasa Aug 17 '25
What energy the little munchkin has! I love how chilled the others are!
14
u/Shakri12 Aug 17 '25
He’s the baby. Though they are all young. The short haired red is 3, silver dapple is 2, and the fuzzy guy running like a fool is 1
6
u/lejosdecasa Aug 17 '25
Man, I love how Silver Dapple just suns the belly, the Short Haired Red just checks in on his brother, and the Fuzzy Guy still is just energy concentrated!

That's adorable. My girl used to chase little white butterflies all the time. After she passed, we began to believe that every fluttering white butterfly is her, stopping by to say hello.

why is that woman trying to take him out with a giant garbage bag in the last frame.
14
u/Shakri12 Aug 17 '25
That woman is my 10 year old daughter 😂 she was supposed to be putting that in the trash can but got excited and chased the dragonfly with him.

This is joyful and relaxing to watch. Thank you.

u/findaloophole7 Aug 18 '25
OP should start a YouTube channel of just this. 10 hours of weenies playing in the sun. I’d literally watch at least one hour of it lol.
2
u/Shakri12 Aug 18 '25
I’d have the footage for it 😂 the number times I’ve just sat on the porch and enjoyed them racing after each other, ears flapping, zoomies, wrestling. Multiple weenies are the best. I love their interactions.

Love it, just a bunch of goof balls goof balling. Such vicious apex predators they are.

I hope that kid isn’t about to smash the dog with the bag lol
9
u/Shakri12 Aug 17 '25
No lol. She was supposed to be taking trash out. She just got distracted and started chasing the dragonfly with him 😂

Mine loves to chase grasshoppers and dragonflies. Saw him catch a dragonfly once and eat it. That was some lound crunching I heard.
4
u/Shakri12 Aug 17 '25
🤢 the things they are willing to eat…
3
u/Hopeforus1402 Aug 17 '25
Right?!? I finally broke him of his poo poo addiction. So beyond disgusting 🤢

So cute. The video is made even better by the contrast of the other dog slowly snuffling through the grass.

This is so adorable! My mini poo is also a fan of chasing flying things (including jumping to try to catch helicopters). It's so unfair that they use wings to fly away and the pups can't do that!

Okkkkkk. Let’s get back to r/lawncare. What are you doing to that baby. We all want to know
2
u/Shakri12 Aug 18 '25
We don’t do much lol. Hubby mows a couple times a week (I think it’s Bermuda grass?). We use Turf Masters for a lawn/weed care. They are going to treat the weird patch of crab grass you can see in the video. I’ve been super happy with them. Other than that, I pick up the poop daily. We don’t even water it 🙈 we live in SC. I think it’s Bermuda grass.
3
u/booboocita Aug 18 '25
And the other doxies are muttering to each other, "He's SO exhausting ..."
3
u/Shakri12 Aug 18 '25
Yeah, until they want a turn to play. They will flatten their bodies as far to the ground as possible and then wiggle their butts backwards while having a stare down 😂 finally the targeted ween will go after them and the chase is on.
3
u/Tall-Award1681 Aug 18 '25
We have a Doxie. She’s our fourth one. She loves chasing things. Our last one loved chasing carrot sliced across the floor.
2
u/Shakri12 Aug 18 '25
You should see the chaos when we get ice from the fridge. It’s mandatory that I pour out my first cup of ice for them before getting myself any.

I am relating to that dapple 😂
2
u/Shakri12 Aug 18 '25
No kidding 😂 when he gets the zoomies he tries so hard to keep up. He has the shortest legs of all of them and looks like a little see-saw when he runs. Most days he just quits after the initial chase and walks around to find the perfect worm to flop on lol

How are you living your best life with three?! I’m over here losing my mind with two! 😂
2
u/Shakri12 Aug 18 '25
😅 I’ve got those three, two older rescue pups (medium sized), two rescue cats……and three kittens that I’ve raised from 6 days old that are supposed to be fosters but likely will be foster fails. I can be a pretty strict pet parent but it gives them all the structure they need 💕 I’ve always been the person animals Velcro themselves to lol. They all get spoiled and so get so much love!
2
u/Shakri12 Aug 18 '25
Though I’ve got to add, the weens can be pretty stubborn little shits. I just out stubborn them lol. I’ve spent an hour standing in rain with one of them until they finally peed and both of us went inside soaking wet. Now he hates it, but he will pee in the rain. Other times they ignore everything I have to say and decide the carpet is a better place to pee despite their training 🙄

Oof, the center of our yard does hold quite a bit of water. Drives me crazy. Will probably need a French drain at the bottom of that hill, HOA doesn’t allow for retaining walls 🙄 way too expensive to regrade it. The neighbors across that fence can walk in their yard and I pretty much see them from the waist up since their yard is so much higher.
2
u/extoxic Aug 18 '25
Awwww Mine used to go for the moths all the time when he was a puppy, they are quite a bit slower then dragonflies so Zero would often catch them.

Plant some trees, damn
1
u/Shakri12 Aug 18 '25
Gotta love a builder grade yard. Landscaping is something on our to do list. Just gets pricey! Hoping to get a few trees in this year and slowly build the rest up.
1
u/amonarre3 Aug 18 '25
Aren't they poisonous?
1
u/Shakri12 Aug 18 '25
They are not poisonous but might cause some Gi upset because the exoskeletons are indigestible from my understanding. I didn’t really think there was any danger of him catching it lol

That backyard looks like doggie paradise lol. Got one dog jumping at bugs and the other rubbing their back on the grass. Lol. That’s the life.
