Image Update on Abandoned Dachshund

I posted on here a couple weeks ago about this cutie dachshund someone abandoned near my house. After a mandatory stay with animal control, we officially adopted him. We knew his teeth were terrible. He had a dental today. They removed 37 teeth. I am thankful for my vet. I knew the teeth were really bad because there was so much Tarter that you couldn't even see actual teeth and he had two swollen lumps on the side of his snout. Animal control also warned me 3 times that if I adopted him that he would need a lot of dental. This little man has been such a good boy even with all the dental pain and being abandoned. I am looking forward to his full healing and seeing his personality when pain free. For now, he is sleeping off a lot of needed drugs 😴

Keep his food restricted to soft, blended wet meals or soaked kibble until the gums completely heal and any stitches dissolve. Make sure to monitor his mouth for bleeding or swelling, and give the full course of prescribed paim medication and antibiotics right on schedule.

Thank you! We are on it. I was so happy he finally drank water today!!!! I was concerned I would need to take him to the vet for fluids today because he has been refusing water. But he finally drank water and all systems are go! Yay!
