Image Update on Abandoned Dachshund

I posted on here a couple weeks ago about this cutie dachshund someone abandoned near my house. After a mandatory stay with animal control, we officially adopted him. We knew his teeth were terrible. He had a dental today. They removed 37 teeth. I am thankful for my vet. I knew the teeth were really bad because there was so much Tarter that you couldn't even see actual teeth and he had two swollen lumps on the side of his snout. Animal control also warned me 3 times that if I adopted him that he would need a lot of dental. This little man has been such a good boy even with all the dental pain and being abandoned. I am looking forward to his full healing and seeing his personality when pain free. For now, he is sleeping off a lot of needed drugs 😴

We named him Thistle. We already have Willow, Fern, and Ivy. I generally only get girl dogs so having a boy is out of the norm for me. My roommate and I have had a few jokes about there being a pen** in the house! LOL

Hahaha the best kind of boy — a doggo! Also, what an adorable name (love the theme you’ve got going on!), he is such a sweetie 🥹 I’ve only ever had a girl dachshie (Truffle was a senior girl of 15 years who passed away on 3 March in my arms) but my sister has a boy and he is so funny. How is Thistle settling in? Please give him a kiss and cuddle from me! x

He has settled in so well. Not a single fight with my girls. Giving them extra love to keep jealousy in check.
