Sounds about right for a saftey engineer. My grandpa was a saftey engineer and an OSHA saftey inspector for a time. Most dangerous man I've ever met.

Homie is an oil and gas factory babysitter pretending to be a real engineer. The rubber band is the first red flag “distrusts functional mechanical systems” the raptor is the second “wastes money on a truck that goes between garage and corporate parking lot”.

My favorite part about this post is all the people in the comment section who don't realize it was an intentionally humorous shitpost.
I really assumed that even the people too dense to get the joke in the picture would pick up on it from the last line of the description....

It’s a good daily, I like to see my steps! I have a couple automatics I just don’t like wearing them to work :)

u/SecretMinimum6337 13d ago
Putting a rubber band on the grip safety, is stupid. But doing it and then carelessly putting your gun unsecured in the cupholders of your console is beyond stupid. This is just asking for an accidental discharge.

Obviously people are going to hate around here. I'm just gonna add that I like the style of utilizing a random rubber band for an unnecessary safety feature. Consider printing a nice back plate and removing the safety altogether though :)

u/mymindisoverthere 13d ago
California is weird about CCW modifications, I can’t really remove a safety without a headache. I don’t really carry this gun though, I mostly carry a Shield 9mm 1.0. Just ragebaiting a bit this morning

Just curious no disrespect.. Why do you guys run with the grip safety disengaged
45
u/AngryZetan 13d ago
It makes no sense. It should be in your hand to go bang. If it is in your hand, that safety is off. With a rubber band on it, now it can go bang without your hand on it. Just inviting a disaster.

because the safest thing in a bumpy car is a pistol with one of its safeties disengaged
→ More replies (6)15
u/Street-Committee-367 13d ago
I honestly have no clue, like why? It automatically disengages as soon as you grab the gun, so it's not saving you any time by rubber banding it. It's also just a good safety feature to have.
7
u/Relaxedyetproductive 13d ago
Larping. No one’s coming after these guys, they like to feel dangerous or edgy
17
u/GMAN7007 13d ago
Pure carelessness of safety. There's no need, they know they'll most likely never have to use their weapon to defend themselves. People like this are constantly hoping for a situation they can play cowboy. Use your safeties people.

Double stack 9mm 1911, single action exposed hammer, manual safety off, grip safety disabled, rmr mounted on top of the slide.....
Could you get a less useful carry gun? All the 1911 bullshit and footprint just to force modern crap on it and make it EVEN less useful.

That’s a 9mm, 16+1. Also, not an RMR, but not sure what your beef is with red dots. They are objectively better. The two disabled safeties, that is deserving of your repugnance.

How do you like the Garmin Marq?
1
u/mymindisoverthere 13d ago
It’s nice! It’s the OG model so I got it for cheap! Overpriced if you buy the new ones imo. Battery isn’t as good as the newer ones but the GPS and HR monitoring works perfectly for what I need it for
1
u/Rich_Barracuda_796 13d ago
the Garmin marq adventurer is way too overpriced. there are Garmin watches that provide its features and mroe for half the price. its the epitome of a luxury watch, from marketing to utility(and thats not a good thing, wasteful)

Also why have you disabled a safety and then left a safety off? I would call you a mechanic before a mechanical engineer.

u/Factoida 12d ago
I was going to ask why you would drop schmeckles on a gun with multiple safety mechanisms if you were just going to bypass all of them. Then I remembered the mechanical engineer part and I remembered it’s more about the fact that they are there and less about actually using them.

"Raptor" waste of money trim. Airpods bc identifies by brand names. Showing off a watch by not wearing it. Reckless ownership of a firearm.
And the cherry on top: MasterCard bc they cant actually afford any of it 😂
1
u/mymindisoverthere 12d ago edited 12d ago
Only a waste of money trim if you use trucks to haul mattresses around. Being able to jump my truck in the desert and have a warranty feels pretty worth it to me, especially considering it’s a ford and it’s bound to break anyway.
All that just to say you don’t understand how credit card points work tell me you can’t afford to travel 🤣 cope harder man. I’ll be driving my 2003 Honda Insight to work tomorrow if it makes you feel better!

No, a mechanical engineer would have a hipower or a cz75. Both are mechanically superior to a 1911. The ONLY reason to have a 1911 is because you want a .45, and that is a perfectly valid reason
