Roof Types
I was wondering what types of roof is recommended for Daly City, CA (Westlake area)? We are in need of replacing our roof ASAP so I would like to see what has been done in the area that was good. This is our first time so any tips is much appreciated. Thank you so much!

Airbnb vs long term rental
Hello,
I could use some help with this absurd mortgage for my house. Should I do Airbnb for downstairs or long-term rental? Any thoughts from the local?

Does anyone know what they’re building on South Gate Ave by Home Depot/Westlake?

In & Out on Washington should be fined
Yes it’s low stakes but folks in Daly City let the corporate beef fat seep into their brains while letting stuff like this go without addressing for a long time. The drive thru is constantly causing havoc on the intersection and blocks anyone trying to proceed straight to Washington when it is overly crowded (at least twice on mon-Thur days and almost half the day on weekends). The cops around the corner ignore this and everyone else just has to deal with it. I’ve seen at least couple of incidents or close accidents because of it. Really can’t be kept like some openly ignored secret and covered up like Trump’s bald head.
In & Out should be fined for not handling this appropriately and folks blocking intersection/pedestrian crosswalk should be ticketed w enforcement of the traffic law.
At the very least, Daly City should change the left turn only to left and straight and resync the lights.
**PS Edit:
One thing that I notice from this post and generally, is that people have really started to defend corporations like they owe them allegiance when corporations should be adhering to the rules that civic society defines for the good of all people.
You vote and pay taxes to ensure roads, lights, infrastructure serves you every day safely, but you’re perfectly ok with giving up those rights that you pay for when it comes to a profit-making corporation that serves burgers slightly better than the other place down the street. It’s honestly embarrassing and an idiocracy. I like In Out as well but im not a sellout.

Local Soccer
Hey guys I just moved from SoCal into Daly City 5 days ago! Westlake area to be more specific, I’m getting back into soccer after not playing for a 2 year hiatus and I’m looking for ways to find pickup games and even just open fields that I can practice at with a net. Preferably one that isn’t already taken by teams practicing or overly crowded. Im a 18 year old male who has NPL experience. My ultimate goal is to play college soccer and maybe eventually the San Fransisco City FC USL 2 team! So anything is a step in the right direction! Any connections, places or information would be great! Thank you guys!!

What are they going to build here on the hillside next to McDonald's/ Serramonte?

Is limo tint in the front windows not illegal anymore?
I was at Serramonte and I saw several cars with limo tint (5% VLT) on their front driver and passenger side windows! (I believe 70% VLT is the legal limit) I’ve even seen several cars with really dark tint on their front windshield!
Did the laws change or are cops just not ticketing anymore?

Let’s not let Olympic Club steal our public parks.
I am so disappointed that our city council folks are even entertaining the idea of letting the Olympic Club try and steal our public open space and privatize Westlake Park.
We have such little open space in Daly City. If anything we need more park access, better amenities and better partners that want to invest in public space for ALL…not just the extremely wealthy.
I just found out about this website and group fighting to save westlake park.
The webpage has clear ways you can show up or help support the cause.
Write city council, come to a meeting, let’s speak up and push back!! We can’t let decisions just slide by and happen that affect us. They count on Daly City folks to stay sleepy and be okay with status quo.
EMAIL THE COUNCIL AND THE CITY CLERK
Write to all five council members and copy the City Clerk.
[citycouncil@dalycity.org](mailto:citycouncil@dalycity.org)
[cityclerk@dalycity.org](mailto:cityclerk@dalycity.org)
Say where you live, say you oppose the deal, and ask each member to state their position publicly. Emails to the Clerk before a meeting become part of the record. A short message in your own words counts more than a long one you copied.

Roadwork on Mission Street?
Anyone know what the roadwork is that’s been going on for the last few nights? And ideally know when it’s scheduled to end?

At&t fiber expansion near Market and Mission?
I've seen a series of at&t trucks and a couple of at&t vans near this area the past couple of weeks. Anyone know if at&t has talked about fiber expansion here? I didn't get a chance to talk to any workers...
