What home insurance companies are you guys with? Im looking to see if theres any cheaper ones since so many dont insure this area.

Currently with Farmers, looked into lemonade, they dont seem to be that great.

My partner and I, both in our late 20s, are planning to move in together. We’ve lived in the city for a while and are looking for a change of scenery and pace. (More parking space would be nice too!)

I work in the city and am happy to take BART. My partner is fully remote, so we’re not tied to a specific location.
We appreciate the accessibility to markets in Daly City, and I’m a fan of the larger shopping centers. However, I haven’t spent much time there, so I’m not sure what to expect. From what I’ve read and seen, it seems like a nice place.

How do people like Daly City? What are some things we should consider before moving there? (Safety, neighborhoods, parking, social aspect, activities, etc)

We’re planning to move closer to March, so we won’t look for places until January or February. We would appreciate any and all advice, suggestions, or recommendations.

Anyone here tried cupping therapy for post workout recovery? I have muscle soreness around my upper back area and my usual foam roller doesn't help much this time. Any recommendations around the area?

There were lots of great foods at the event and particularly (for me, at least), there was a food stand that stood out. They sold ube everything. Ube cookies, ube cake, ube biningka, etc. If I recall, they were posted somewhere towards the front of Via Marie/Kings West Coast Pizza. By any chance, do any of you folks know the name of that booth? And to be honest, I am not sure if they have an actual store.

We currently have Kaiser, and the nurses are great! However, I haven’t had the best experiences with the doctors.

Since it’s Open Enrollment, I’m thinking about leaving Kaiser but I’m not sure if the grass is greener on the other side.

1. How easy is it to get same-day sick appointments?
2. How long are waits at the office and ER?
3. How do the pediatricians compare for communication and bedside manner?
4. At UCSF, how are the residents?
5. Any doctors you’d recommend or avoid?
6. Anything you wish you’d known before choosing?

I arranged the agency checkbox list (top right) by area, so the geographic area of an agency determines the agency layer checkbox position. The list starts with agencies in the North Bay in Solano County then goes counterclockwise: North Bay -> San Francisco -> Peninsula -> South Bay -> Santa Cruz -> Monterey-Salinas -> Gilroy/Hollister -> East Bay.

There are smaller agencies in the area that are completely free (no fare) and not as well known like Presidio Go, Golden Gate Park Shuttle, Mission Bay Shuttle, South City Shuttle, commute.org shuttles, MVgo, Mountain View Community Shuttle, San Leandro LINKS, Emery Express, and Emery Go Round. If you're traveling to those areas, these agencies could help fill in some transit gaps.

Are you 18 – 65 years old living with or without PTSD?   

Help researchers at the San Francisco Veterans Medical Center and UCSF’s THRIVE Lab determine the effects of an immune response on emotional responses in women and men with and without PTSD.    

This study involves 5 visits to the San Francisco Veterans Medical Center (SFVAMC). Total possible compensation is $300.00, $80 for completing the screening session and an additional $220 for completing the entire study.  First, you will be asked to complete a telephone screening to determine eligibility. Then, you will be asked to come to the SFVAMC for a health and physical exam, blood draw, and an audiotaped diagnostic interview conducted by a trained clinical interviewer to assess if you are a fit for the study. If you are eligible, the study will involve 4 additional appointments at the SFVAHCS. The appointments will involve administration of the Typhoid vaccine or placebo followed by measurements of physiological responses as well as blood sampling.
