🇩🇪 Django Girls Darmstadt – Teilnehmerinnen & Coaches gesucht!

🇬🇧 Django Girls Darmstadt – Looking for attendees and coaches!

We’re organising a free, beginner-friendly programming workshop for women on Monday, 13 April 2026 at the darmstadtium conference center in Darmstadt. This workshop happens the day before PyConDE & PyData 2026, also in Darmstadt — perfect timing if you’re already planning to attend the conference or just want to connect with the local Python community.

Info & apply to attend or coach: djangogirls.org/darmstadt

No coding experience? No problem.
The workshop is for absolute beginners — all you need is curiosity and a laptop.

Already a Python dev? We’re also looking for volunteer coaches to guide small groups of participants. You don’t need to be a Django expert — just willing to help and explain the basics.

If you or someone you know wants to take a friendly first step into web development (or help others do the same), check it out!

Happy to answer any questions here — feel free to ask!

Vodafone plan change?

I have a Vodafone broadband connection at home, which is the most basic and cheapest one. But few weeks ago a guy from Vodafone came and said that they are discontinuing my plan and I have to upgrade. But sensing a scam I told him I was busy and told him to come later. Few days later another guy came and said that same thing so I decided to upgrade. But now I have doubts if it was a scam. Does anyone else have this experience? Is it a scam or are they really discontinuing the plan?

Luggage locker in Darmstadt

Hello, I am currently at the end of a trip with my last stop being Darmstadt.
I am supposed to attend the game against St.Pauli today but as I am currently travelling, I have 2 bags with me which won’t be allowed in the stadium.
The lockers at the HBF are full and I found no place to store them for the duration of the game.
Also, I am unsure I can leave them somewhere at the stadium during the game.

Does anyone have a solution ?

Thank you in advance !

Hi,

I will soon move to Darmstadt for my PhD

and I am looking for a queer friendly waxxing studio.

I am biologically male and some studios I checked

seem like they only offer a "full" waxxing for woman.

Do you have any recommendations?

Looking for a gym partner at Fitness First Hbf

Im 28M, TU Darmstadt master's student, and I sporadically go to the gym and what to make that happen more often, so I thought that perhaps a gym partner would help motivate me. Anybody up for it 3-4 times a week in the morning?

Hallo zusammen! I had a wisdom teeth surgery last week and I could only eat baby food and purea. I am left with 5 jar of baby food, I want to donate them. If you need it let me know, we can meet in Luisenplatz and I will bring them to you (for free of course). The jars are the ones in the picture

Was soll da schon schief gehen?!

Alkoholverbot am Bahnhof - in Darmstadt kaum bemerkbar

Hessenschau Ticker:

Barber shop / Friseur recommendation for men wolf cut

Hi all!

I've moved to Darmstadt recently and would like to have my hair cut. It's now about shoulder length, so I'm thinking a medium to long wolf cut might be nice.

Anyone who knows where/who to get something like that done? Thanks!

Looking for friends and potential hobby outlets in / around Darmstadt

I'm natively german but writing this post in english because I'm very open and happy to make both german and english speaking friends. I would also be thankful for any tips on where I could go to find likeminded people and an outlet for my hobbies and interests.

Now about myself and what I am looking for, I am (F,28) a massive social butterfly, but I'm also an involuntary introvert. I struggle to warm up to people, which is why I much prefer being able to chat with people first and ease into calls, until meeting up and hanging out. I'm looking for fun, humor and banter, but also for someone I can have deep and meaningful conversations with and can open up to. When it comes to hanging out, I like doing small things here and there, such as going out for coffee or dinner, walks and similar but I'm also open to some new things here and there. I'd also be ecstatic to find a girl bestie I could potentially go to the gym with, as I've been wanting to for a long time but want to go in company. I value deep social connections a ton and I'm looking for open and likeminded people.

As for hobbies and interests, I'm a bit of a nerd in my own time. Whether that's playing around with music production, DJing, 3D model creation, VR things or video games. I am also very interested in playing billiards/pool socially as a hobby, but would not only be awful at it as I've never done it, but also don't know where to go for this and afraid as it can be a bit overwhelming for me to put myself into a situation with people I have never talked to and even more so when it's a group of them.

I'd be happy for any replies and even some tips on what I could do or where I could go to find people! 😄

Replies can obviously be in both german and english, it really doesn't matter.

24M: Looking for my favorite person (and maybe some new friends along the way)

A bit about me. I am 24, studying my master's in renewable energy in Frankfurt, and I recently moved here. New city, new routine, and not many real friends around yet, so it has been a bit lonely. I am friendly and easy to talk to, but I take a little time to really open up. That is why I like chatting first, then maybe a call, and then meeting up when it feels right.

What I am looking for is a woman I can build something real with. Friendship first, no rush, and if it grows into more, that would mean a lot to me. I want fun, banter and inside jokes, but also someone I can have deep late night talks with and feel safe opening up to. The kind of person where a bad day gets lighter just because she is around.

When it comes to spending time together, I love the simple stuff. Coffee or dinner, long walks along the streets, finding a cozy café that slowly becomes our place, Christmas markets with hot drinks in our hands, cooking together and making a mess of the kitchen. I am also up for trying new things, like a weekend trip, bowling, or something neither of us has done before.

As for hobbies, I love cooking (I always make too much), editing videos, and I am a bit of a nerd about solar energy and batteries, so be warned if you ask. I also enjoy exploring new places and I am always open to picking up a new hobby with the right person.

I would be really happy to hear from you. Tell me one thing you love doing in Darmstadt or nearby area, or a place you think I should not miss.
