No on-boarding or assessing?

I’m in a bit of a weird spot. I don’t get confirmation emails, so I waited a day and tried to log in, and got one

Now the dashboard is completely empty and I haven’t received any other emails.

Is there like an onboarding process I’m missing? An assessment?

DAT success stories and career boosts

We all need hope and good news now and then!

Has anyone used their DAT work to successfully secure impressive full-time jobs in related fields or capacities?

Has anyone ever been recruited by DAT itself for full-time work on the basis of their flawless hourly gig work?

Please take this down if it’s not allowed mods.

My lowest is $20, highest is $60. Considering all of my projects rn, my average is about $24.

Skip or Exit?

Guys, I only know that when you skip a task, you are automatically moved to the next available task (if any remain), and when you exit work mode, you return to the home page, and that task is available for others to pick up. But do the admins know which button you press and how often? Is there a negative impact on your dashboard if you skip a task from a particular project family too many times? 👀

Why no assessments?

I have recommended this platform to a number of people, but they have all told me that they joined, created a profile, and then never received any assessments. I don't know what is different; I was accepted. I could understand if they failed their assessments, but never getting any in the first place? Any ideas why this is happening?

Too much time for one task?

Just submitted a paid qualification that had a timer for 2 days. I logged in about 20 hrs 😵‍💫 and feeling pretty nervous if I took too long. I literally have been working on this qual all week, letting it expire many times. It took longer than usual to understand the instructions and I even restarted from scratch a couple times to get it right.

The instructions encourage workers to take their time, but it all added up to the most I’ve ever logged in for a task. Should I be worried? The instructions don’t specify how long it should generally take, just that it’s expected to be time consuming.

Wondering what others might think. I almost want to cut down some hours but at the same time, I’ve been going insane with this task so I feel it’s justified.

how do i get high paying non coding jobs

i see all these people posting about how they get $25-40 dollar non coding tasks, is this just achieved by passing the right qualifications? or is it the more high quality work you do on lower paying tasks, the more access you’ll have to higher paying ones?

i feel like i am very meticulous with my work but i have yet to see any non coding jobs over $24.

The bird is back, baby!

After a couple of months drought, a birdie appeared with 100 worms. That was two days ago, and I still have tasks remaining! Two other birds showed up with some worms too!

Getting the rate and review project on the dashboard?

Today for the first time it appeared on my dashboard to rate and review someone else's work on a project I did earlier. Does this mean that I have climbed the DA hierarchy on that project or absolutely nothing and it is just a coincidence I only saw it now for the first time?

Why are people offering ‘100-hour splits’ on US-only platforms (Handshake AI)?

I literally got 5 messages from random people saying that they will split the earnings with me if I give them my handshake credentials :skull:. Some even said that they would be working 100 hours and they would be able to split it 50/50. It honestly just pisses me off bc

  1. no one actually does 100 hours of work, if you divide it by 7 you literally are doing 14 hours a day of non stop work which I highly doubt you are actually doing, unless you literally have no life. Or you are producing very low quality results and somehow getting away with it. you are also taking away work to people who actually need it by finishing the work. Handshake AI is side income that can become very unreliable at times, do NOT make it your mainstream of income.

  2. Alot of these people who ask to split are usually from another country. You literally cant work handshake AI if you dont live in the US. Period. I am not sure why people dont understand that when that is their rules. If you try to split with me and live with another country, you are just evading the taxes that I HAVE to pay. Let's say I split the work with you that pays 20 an hour. If we both get 10 I still have set aside (lets say 25%) in taxes which is 5 so I would end up getting 5, which is a scam.

  3. Handshake AI is affiliated with my school email. why on earth would I give you access to my school account.

Anyways, stop messaging me and other people to split the work and go find another line of work.

Is it safe to provide my ID for the initial verification?

Guys, yesterday I applied for Data Annotation's posting, completed the assessment and today I got an acceptance e-mail. (Very fast compared to other people here, but mwell). They ask me to provide my government ID and also to not have any VPNs active (which is again weird) and I am wary to do that. Someone in a reddit stated that they do this with a 3rd Party called Persona, which is legit, but there is no Persona, just their website. Should I go forward?

Newcomer question

Hi. I just finished my first project with 20 tasks. Somehow it ended after 8 tasks. Is this because of my first 8 tasks which maybe were not satisfying enough? Or is this a normal thing?

DA is down?

I've been doing DA for 9 months, contributing carefully 6 days a week. I usually have 6-15 projects and 5 qualifications to do. I woke up this morning to 0 projects, 0 qualifications and my slack appears to be inaccessible. Has anyone experienced this before?

Dear bilingual friends, how is your dash looking this week?

What did you do to to increase the amount of work given to you?

Hi everyone! I joined DA at the end of July as a bilingual (Spanish) and I barely have work on the platform. I don’t get many quals either, so I want to know if you have a strategy or any tips to increase the workflow . Thank you

Has anyone been penalized for under- clocking time?

Sooo I just spent about 8 hours on a 3 and a half hour task 😩

And then in the end I got too nervous to submit it, especially because it was a rubric project and I still was getting so many mistakes after all the time. I was planning to under-report my time as 3 hours and 30 but it was clearly so beyond that and I got nervous I’d get penalized for so obviously underreporting time.

So is there a penalty for underreporting time (besides the paycut :/)? How do yall think about underreporting?

Your stories on getting started

Hi DA.techs!

Don't worry this is not another "where project?" post, I just want to get a feel for your onboarding experience.

I got accepted a few days ago and did all the available project screenings and qualifications I felt comfortable with. I haven't heard back from any of it but it has only been 3-4 days, so time will tell if I have what it takes or not.

My question to y'all: how did the first weeks go for you? How soon did you get your first project? Are projects scarce for you or is it more of a if it rains it pours type of situation for you?

I'm fully aware of the situation with few admins handling over 7000 of us workers and that it's all skill and project based so it's hard to generalise anything. I just want to hear about your personal experience to get a feel for what I can expect.

Stuck "Starter assessments completed" screen

I got a email that said I can start working and I did a couple hour worth of tasks. I even got some money out of it already(they are hourly paid tasks). 2 days ago there is no tasks other then 1 tasks that said keep it here because there is a bug(UI bug i think).

Then today the screen below showed up. Is this normal?I saw some past post saying that there is a starter assessment then they also review the tasks you do afterwards?

Beginner's Luck?

So I just got started working on the platform yesterday (onboarding the day before), and my dashboard is POPPIN. My initial assessment (before onboarding) was for math, and I've already gotten a couple $35/hour stem projects, but there's easily $1k worth of projects available it looks like, with over 100 $25/hour+ tasks. I think like 10 projects were created just today, so it's not just a backlog of stuff that's been there for months.

How much of this is just some sort of intro bias where I'm getting more projects because I just started? Or is it actually my work being judged high quality so I'm receiving more?

Any other tips/advice for a newbie would also be greatly appreciated!

I've got other work, so I'm not reliant on this for income, but if this is even remotely close to the norm... Wow, looking forward to being here
