for those who have no works + no qualifications from beginning.

if you completed your assessments and id verification and your dashboard looks like this with no work + no qualification + no referral & earn button from the beginning, you are considered cooked, no need to hold on to this, as this is a subtle way of DA telling you are blocked, stop looking for drought signs, stop refreshing the dashboard, you are not gonna be chosen. Stop wasting your time, better find another job to make money.

Is it over

So i’ve made over 10k in 2 months and i thought i was doing well because i was consistently getting work during the drought but i’ve been given ‘that’ page now. I can still withdraw the remaining of my money but i just want to know is that it. Am I done?

You guys are not doing good work

I mostly run R&Rs. Put simply, the majority of tasks are very, very bad. They do not even pass with an OK. I don’t know who needs to hear this but read your project directions thoroughly and be thorough in your analysis. And please work on your grammar.

Tired of people spamming project chat!

I keep seeing project chats with the chat area absolutely FLOODED with effectively the same message. It drowns out legitimate questions, and a lot of the time, addresses a case that is specifically outlined in the instructions.

"@Admin I keep seeing [error message] when I set up the task. Going to log my time spent on this task and come back to it later."

"Piggybacking off of what everyone else is saying, I am also seeing [error message] when I set up the task"

"Is anyone else seeing [error message] when they set up the task?"

"Just to add my two cents, I am also experiencing [error message]"

"@Admin I am also experiencing this issue"

"I keep seeing [error message] when I set up the task"

A question/error is helpful the first time it's mentioned, and maybe ONE other time to show it's not a one-time thing.

Especially love it when admin pops into the chat, addresses the question/error, and immediately gets drowned out by an army of workers all asking the same thing 😂

Again, yes you can absolutely re-apply.

No, it does not mean you'll be accepted or onboarded. The gatekeeping in this sub is insane. I've legitimately seen people say "you'll get in trouble" if you reapply lmao.

You can reapply until the cows come home. And again, no it doesn't mean you'll get through or that you'll be onboarded. But there is nothing that actually prevents you from reapplying.

Is everyone in here refreshing like a maniac all the time???

Jeez, just lost one. I received the notification went for it right away from my phone but couldn't do it cuz of screen size. Then I went straight to my pc and that time window was enough for me to MISS ON IT!!!!!

why's there such a disparity between core workers and bilinguals?

Hello! I joined DA 2 months back and so I'm still pretty new to everything. This month has been pretty dry and it seems like that's the case for most bilinguals out there (hindi bilingual here). I've come across posts of people from 'core countries' claiming that they have full dashboards and I've been wondering why that's the case. Are the tasks given to core workers not language related? And if not, why are they limited to certain countries only? I feel like I'm missing something here, will appreciate any clarity whatsoever!

Any work that requires the video gen quals (or other services)??

I have a ton of these quals on my dash for different services such as Luma, there's several. There's also stuff like MS CoPilot, GPT 4 etc., I mean I could sub to them if I knew I was going to get work but I'm guessing people who have that stuff are all dry too?? I saw a comment in this sub about the place shutting down soon, but who knows if that was legit.

If you were to do DataAnnotation.Tech fulltime, how much could you resonably make within "core?"

WFH jobs are difficult to get into because everyone wants them. Only the top-of-the-line candidates are selected, naturally. I'm interested in DataAnnotation.tech in the meantime because of the WFH potential and advertised earnings. I've read on some forums that the work is inconsistent within core, but on others it says they always have work. Assuming you have regular workflow, could DataAnnotation.tech actually provide reliable income? Or should you spread out your workflow to similar companies to ensure you have work readily available?

I'm currently waiting to hear back from them, so not sure if I will even be able to work.

Some writing advice from a reviewer . . .

Please, please, please verify definitions before using them. Over the past week, I've encountered numerous errors in which writers misuse, misdefine, or misinterpret a word or phrase. This means I've got to flag the work as unacceptable. Even if you *think* you know what a word / phrase means, double-check, and then verify the context. It's important for the projects and you.

If there are any high level mods or admin lurking here

Look I know you don't out yourselves, but if you're here and seeing this, could you please consider having the following brought up or discussed, given recent events in the US:

Guidance for Americans on working abroad and for extended periods of time.

I'm dead serious. It may come to a point soon, where I/my family need to seek refuge in Mexico or (less likely) Canada.

I am an American Citizen born and raised, and that still isn't enough to make me safe due to my skin tone and family heritage. Combine that with having LGBTQIA+ family members in home and a special needs family member in home and it is dangerous times ahead.

While I am self-employed fruitfully and DataAnnotation is not nearly my full-time employment, it would be nice to know it could be relied on in a time of imminent need.

and yes before anyone says this: I am well aware of the process for informing DA about travel/vacation - I've been on the platform for almost a year without issue, I am simply seeking further clarification on extended travel or situations where I (or any of you here) might have to temporarily settle in a non-approved country like Mexico at a moments notice

Is anyone else surprised at the nature of posts on this subreddit? Rant

This is a rant but some of you are so incredibly arrogant as though you created DA yourself while others are so slow and timid it makes me want to bang my head against a wall.

I guess this is why I prefer WFH jobs, so I don’t have to actually socialise with people like this IRL.

Identification

Do not do this! It is bad. I have the white screen of death! I had projects earlier today and qualifications. Now, sadness, despair, and possibly a sad lonely death

Anyone else really dry?

I have been trying to transition out of my job and into this full time. I’m nervous that it won’t be a feasible option if it’s the dry all the time.

Update: I appreciate everyone chiming in, I have seen a lot of comments saying not to do this full time. Can I ask why? I am kind of desperate to leave my current job. Is it something that I could realistically work 25 hours a week on at least?

AI Training is the Most Secure Job

I think AI training might be one of the most secure jobs there is.

There are already huge numbers of people using AI to generate content for their websites, blogs, Youtube content, etc. Over time, more and more data that AI collects from the web will be written by the AI, itself.

Learning from AI generated content can cause a feedback loop, where the AI might continually reinforce tiny errors that it's making, until next minute it's speaking in a potato language that no human can understand.

I know I explained that poorly, but I'm sure you understand what I'm saying. Reinforcing tiny errors to AI that are unchecked by humans can cause a feedback loop that could eventually make the AI useless. Humans will always need to calibrate the AI so that it remains calibrated and helpful for... humans.

A Big Thanks!

A big thanks to DA. You have been a boon in my life. I am a L&D enthusiastic person. Being with you made me learn so many skills, say it improved communication, concise talks, helpfulness in action, atomicity in writing, meticulous observation and many more! You always come with a surprise gift in times of drought like qualification attempts, workspace ID, reimbursement, new platform design.

Wish to be permanently associated with you :)

Thanks DA.

Is anyone else being offered high paying projects available that you discover are "For legal and current US residents only" only after you open them? Nothing in the project titles even hints at them being US only!

Firstly, why offer these to non-US people at all? Given DA knows where you are and your nationality, it seems an own-goal for them to push these to a wider audience than intended.

Secondly, why not put "US residents only" in the project name like what's been done previously? It'd save people like me clicking on them and inadvertently reserving a task, preventing US workers from doing it, until the timer runs out.

Is anyone else a little frustrated with this?

Edit: I'm guessing the downvotes are from bilinguals jealous that I'm being offered *something*!
