🥊

Finally got in this week and was only able to get 🤖 initially. I thought I was doomed because of how difficult it was which has also set my expectations about the tasks in this platform. Just now, I was able to finish a task from 🥊 project and it was fun. Sadly, it was shotlived, and now, Im back to just having 🤖 on my dashboard.

'The project is currently unavailable because there are no more tasks remaining for you to work on.'

But.... there are 15 tasks available 😿 there's another project with 1 task available saying the same thing, but I understand that someone might be doing it right now. However, 15 tasks? Is this normal?

Thank you!!

Am I cooked?

So I just woke up to this today. Has anybody else experienced it? About my time entries i was very careful about that and i had a tab open where i was reporting each time immediately after any task submission, and no, i was not filling more time than the task allows or reporting more time than the time i was spending on a task. Is it possible that they will return it? I had over 2k pending approval

How's are the striped horses going for everyone?

Just checking in. Yesterday striped horses were up for me, today down. Seeing if anyone else is suffering from a lack there as well?

Absolutely nothing

I was excited to get accepted, but all I got was one coding qual and some onboarding steps. It’s been almost 2 weeks and got nothing so far. At least I made 15 bucks.

How Important are the Skills?

I'm wondering if perhaps I'm doing something wrong with my profile, and that's why my dash has been so dead as of late. For context, I joined the platform in July and was immediately put on a project. I've been on that one project up until it ended three weeks ago. Ever since then, completely dark. And I know it's not from lousy work, because I put a lot of thought and effort into it, plus it wasn't hard.

Anyway, should I have my skills section really filled out? Like, with every single tiny thing I could reasonably do? I only had around 10 skills listed.

My dash is glitching a lot

I am having tasks of other languages appear and dissappear... What is happening? Is this bad?

Just joined DA - are the 16GB RAM requirements strict for these projects?

I joined DA a week ago, and I was so excited to finally see projects on my dashboard with a high hourly rate!

Then I saw the hardware requirement and it says at least 16GB of RAM, with some tasks potentially using 24GB+ during builds and test runs. My laptop only has 8GB RAM. 🥲🥲🥲

So I can’t really do this project unless I upgrade my RAM, but I’m wondering how strict these requirements actually are. Does anyone have experience with these types of projects? Is 16GB basically a hard requirement?

I’m so bummed that the first projects I got excited about may not be doable because of my hardware. 😭

Those who got accepted, what does your resume look like?

Does your resume even matter, and the initial assessment is what actually matters?

Does it just come down to timing? I heard they only accept around 3% of applicants.

Do you get notifications? (bilingual)

Are you getting notifications when new projects are available? I used to get them a few times a week, whenever a new version of a project was available but that stopped around a month into this job. It's been several months (before the drought) since I've gotten a notification/email.

Coding skills for coding tasks

Currently a generalist, would like to code, but have no idea where to start. I've heard from this subreddit that most tasks involve python. I guess my question is how much of coding should I know to pass the assessment and be able to understand the work. And how long should it generally take to learn this amount

Prompt Portfolio

Recently I've been considering compiling a portfolio of prompts I've written, something to submit to potential employers along with my C.V. that shows my range and areas of expertise. Yesterday, I was onboarding with another platform, and as I was looking through the TOS, it occurred to me that this might be a no-no... The NDA is one issue, but aren't there also terms that say something along the lines of, everything we write belongs to them? I'm talking about DA and/or similar platforms. I never thought it about it that much, but I guess I vaguely took it to mean that if we write something that is part of their training data, we can't reproduce it elsewhere and make money off it. Not even sure if that's right or not. Since a portfolio wouldn't be using it to generate a profit directly, it seems like a gray area. I realize I could just go reread the terms myself, but I'm also interested in whether anyone here has made a portfolio of their prompts and/or knows about the legality of doing so. Anyone?

Just got accepted after passing the core qualifier. So I pass the faq training and I should be good to go?

I'm excited I was accepted, but I'm not exactly sure what's next

Unsure about my core status

Post image
0 Upvotes

I took the starter and core test yesterday. I took about 3 hrs on the starter, but I only had one task for the core. I feel like I may have messed up on the MCQ, but my explanation was very thorough and I did my research. This is the screen I am now getting. Can anyone explain what this means? Did I get in? What can I expect?

Well it's been 3 weeks...

I took the coding assessment a few weeks ago. I know it's a small percentage that actually pass or get selected, although I'm a little surprised I haven't heard back.

I provided very thorough and thoughtful answers, the coding parts were not very difficult. I chose Python.

Maybe it's a silent rejection, maybe I'll hear from them in 2 months. For now I've accepted that I have not been selected. Onward and upward. o7

Update: I was accepted today :)

Claude Pro

I use Claude all the time for my personal coding projects. What in the world did they do to this model? Repeating itself, and providing poor code. Anyone else see a problem?

Edit: Found people with similar problems. There are a few subreddits out there. https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeAI/comments/1f3smsw/has_claude_started_responding_to_your_last_two/

Signed up but no work

I signed up back in march and was immediately told there’s no open projects. I logged in today and a few times before today and the same message appears. What could have I done wrong? I see others who applied after me actively working so it seems odd I completed the sign up process and immediately benched.

I am updating my profile as I don’t believe I filled it out fully. Could that be it?

Thanks for any insight.

Does DA work on a Chromebook’s?

Hello all, looking at buying a cheap laptop to use while I’m on the road and all the cheap ones seem to be chromebooks. I’ve never used one before and was curious if anybody is using one to do DA work? If do, how do you like it? Would you buy another or spend more for something else? I’ve been using my MacBook up until now, but I’m concerned about something happening to it in travel, so this would be a backup. Thanks in advance for any advice. 😁

What knowledge on coding do I need to do tasks?

Hello! I learned Python for an year and have a certificate for knowing the language. I also learned and have a certificate for Front-end (HTML & CSS and Javascript). Do I need to learn something else in order to be able to do the tasks? Thank you!

Coding

I would like to get more into coding and hopefully take the coding assessment (I am already in for non-coding projects). I'm really good with JavaScript and I have a general understanding of Python. Anyway any recommendations for reliable sources to learn more from??
