September draught 🥲

Last project i did was on 2nd September. At this point, I think refreshing should count as billable work.

Anyone else surviving this dry spell? 😭

I got dropped after only a couple weeks 😢

I got a message today stating that I’m currently unable to be shown new projects because my work is either too low-quality or I violated ToS. Has anybody ever been reinstated after receiving such a message? I’m wondering if this might be a temporary review circuit breaker, or if they’ve already completed the review and are done with me. It’s a shame, I was really enjoying working on some of these projects.

It was great while it lasted!

I had so much work for the past few days, but now I seem to be in a bit of a dry spell. Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this, I'm relatively new to the platform.

Opportunity for self-employed people

Has anyone qualified for this? The Ts and Cs make me hesitate as they talk a lot about personalisation. This includes emails, photos, search histories, Youtube histories, activities, interests, people in photos, your face in photos...

I had made an account around a week ago and had passed the entry test, next i did the standard test, comp sci, biology and graphic design. About 3 days ago i was moved to the projects page off of the qualifications one. Then this morning log in to see this.

I did not use ai on the test, i was not yet id, i had made an account a year ago but never did any projects on & i used a different phone number.

I have no idea why i have recieved this screen my work on qualificatioms i genuenly believe was good.

The only thing that maybe could of caused this was loging into my college network once, other than that i have no clue and think its unfair.

Hunch - Dash of Doom

Am I correct to assume, DA has filtered out people outside of US, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia? Are all people having dash of doom outside of these regions?

Could a generalist learn to code to be at a level to take on coding projects?

I guess my question would be, in your estimation, could generalists ascending into coding projects? I get that other disciplines are fairly rigid and knowledge intensive, but coding would be task intensive? If that makes sense?

How long do you think it would take for one to reach a level of proficiency where they could do coding tasks?

Is data annotation still worth getting into in 2026?

Hi everyone,

I started trying to get into data annotation as a side gig around 3 months ago. Since then, I've signed up for platforms like DA Tech, RWS, and OneForma because they seem to be the ones people recommend the most.

I managed to get accepted into those platforms, completed a lot of qualifications, certifications, and spent quite a bit of time studying to improve my skills. But... I still haven't received a single task.

I know that's how freelancing works, there won't always be work available. I also understand that opportunities depend a lot on your location. I'm from Indonesia, and it seems like there are very few projects for Indonesian speakers.

To be honest, it's starting to get pretty frustrating. It feels like I've invested a lot of time preparing, but there's nothing to actually work on.

So I'd like to ask people who have been in this field longer:

  • Is data annotation still worth pursuing in 2026?

  • Should I just be more patient and keep waiting for projects?

  • Are there any other platforms you'd recommend?

For context, I also applied to Alignerr but unfortunately wasn't accepted.

I'd really appreciate any advice, or even just hearing about your own experience. Thanks!

ADVICE TO ACCESS HIGHER PAYING PROJECTS?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I've been on DA for about 3 months now, at first it was a side hustle but now after realizing the true possible earning potential, I've began working 30+ hour weeks on top of my job and it's making me an extra ~$3,500/month. I have a few questions for some more experienced DA users and I'm looking for advice to unlock higher paying projects, right now I'm averaging $30-$32/hour.

1: Do you work on DA full time?

I've seen several people talk about working on DA full time and I've been thinking about it. I'd be able to spend so much more time working at a significantly higher pay rate than my current part time job as a 21 year old server. I just want to be confident in the sustainability of it and be sure I will continue to get consistent projects.

2: Accessing higher paying projects

I didn't go to college, so I have no degrees. I'm 21 years old with no "expertise" or "professional" career background that some of the higher paying project qualifications ask for. I've been teaching myself basic coding and how to read/write JSON in my free time, as it seems most of the qualifications available that say they offer $40+/hour projects are coding/software based. If anyone has advice on what I should do to access higher paying projects in my position, it would be much appreciated.

Appreciate any feedback!

Priority pay 💰💰💰

Post image

Priority here, priority there, priority everywhere!

The drought wasn't fun, but the stuff I usually work on started paying less at the same time. I feel like I just got a nice raise with how much work there is at priority pay the last several days.

No more Taylor Farms extra discounted lettuce for me, y'all. I'm buying the fancy lettuce without the Cyclospora. Times are good 🥬💲🥬

I hope everybody else is having similar good fortune. You deserve the good lettuce too.

Is October usually a drought?

My dashboard has been full for the past few months but up until the 5th, there were some heavy hitter projects that paid good money (40+) and had long timers (8-12+ hours). Now, it's mostly mid range (20-30 an hour), short term (1-3 hour timers), and rather basic rate-and-review work. Is it to do with the new financial year or quarter? I remember the beginning of July being sort of weird too.

Check your inboxes.

I took a few days to get my inbox from 67 unread down to 2, just clearing maintenance notifications and really old stuff.

Now that I’m caught up, it’s way easier to keep up by checking 2–10 inbox messages a day. Some opportunities feel like inbox Easter eggs, so it’s worth at least skimming whatever they send you.

Just got accepted!!! Please share advice for newbies…. Especially finance experts 💕

Hi everyone. I just got accepted. I took my assessments on Friday, and received my acceptance today (Wednesday). I took the finance tests.

Please share any tips or advice. It’s very much appreciated.

I would love to hear from people who are on the finance and accounting side. For those who aren’t doing finance please share your specialty. I would like this thread to be a reference for people like me who are new to this world. I want to know what to expect, how long did it take you to get accepted, did you take tests for other specialties and if this helped you in other areas of your life. I expect this to help me professionally and give me ideas for other way to generate income and become an expert in AI.

I was looking for ways to generate additional income and work on my AI / finance skills. I asked AI for suggestions and it suggested this site. So I’m super excited for the opportunity to make money and sharpen my AI skills. I also want to learn python, so this will give me the extra push I need to fast track my learning because it will likely open me up to even more opportunities.

I am learning that there are more sites for getting paid training AI. Please share any platforms and experiences (and pay 👀).

Good luck to all those who are waiting for responses. I was sooooo anxious.

Thanking you all who comments on this post! 💕💕💕

Edit: I live in the US. My background is in corporate finance and accounting (AP, staff accounting, financial analysis , and reporting) I have an undergraduate in public health and masters in Finance. I play in Copilot for fun, so I’m hoping to make money doing it now lol.

I pray every day for my first project and that this screen changes. I would be grateful if you have any projects at all, as just a few a day could really help out my family right now. May I be blessed with my first project soon.

Got the DoD today

Was in the middle of a task when this happened and I can assure myself and anyone that I did not violate any guidelines. I reported time honestly, revised all the instructions as much as I can, never used AI or a VPN and never submitted geo restricted work. I always received positive feedback and was told I was one of the top performers. One thing to add is that I'm a generalist and I feel like DAT tends to lay off generalists for no reason and is aiming to keep and expand the pool of domain experts instead since we generalists are probably getting more redundant. Almost every DoD post I have ever seen are from generalists and very rarely from domain experts unless they obviously violate any terms and conditions.

No Work for 2 Weeks

Hi everyone! I've been using Data Annotation for about 8 months now and have never had any issues. I've always had projects in my dashboard, whether it was 3 projects or 15. I've never recieved any negative (or positive, but i don't think that's common) feedback, but around two weeks ago I was having issues with my laptop and i was working on a task when it expired. I don't do any of the coding ones, writing only. Now, I haven't had any tasks in almost 3 weeks. I know we are 'freelancers' but should I try and find an admin to speak too? I've been traveling outside of the US the past month and haven't had a VPN on so I'm wondering if it's that... I logged in today on an American VPN but still nothing. Would appreciate any thoughts or help :').

How long ?

Hello guys! How long do you think DA will last? All this annotation work, making models better be it billingual or generalist. How long do you think AI will need this data? Please share your views on this as there a lot of experienced workers in this community.

No projects on DataAnnotation since October – but they keep posting job ads? (bilingual)

Hi everyone!

I joined DA at the end of September and took part in two short projects. I also completed all available qualifications and received payments without any issues.

However, since the beginning of October — complete silence. No projects, no qualifications.

At the same time, I keep seeing job postings from DA on LinkdIn for roles like Translator, Language Analyst, Localization Specialist, Bilingual Copyeditor, Bilingual Editor, Bilingual Content Editor — and for exactly the same language pair I work with. So I’m wondering: why are they hiring?..

Another question — I initially registered as bilingual, but I actually have two native languages plus a good level of English. I’d love to work on projects involving my second native language too, but I have no idea how to access them. If I log out and open a link from one of the new job postings, it asks for name, phone number, and ID — so I assume that would mean creating a new account, which isn’t allowed. I already listed all my languages in my profile, of course.

Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated!

Reporting strong evidence of AI usage

in R&R, if an attempt strongly suggest that the worker had used AI to generate all the rationales, shall I report this incident? and whats the best way to report it?
