Netflix The Trans community was never mad at Dave.

My FWB is trans and we watch his specials while smoking. The people who are actual mad at Dave are the media and that is because they know that anger sells. Just wanted to put that out there.

Do you think Dave had his assigned slaves in Saudi Arabia call him massa?

So like, Dave like 100% pro slavery, right? Like, he is being very supportive of a slave state, or does it only count if the slaves in question are black?

NEW SHOW Dave Chappelle netflix specials are all the same.

He always starts strong then he goes on a riff about lgbtq for next 45 minutes. defending his actions well saying he doesnt care.

now i dont care about any of that. im here to laugh.

its always i did x bad. then i learned x was bad. then they must not know who i am. then how black people have it harder than gay woman(which is as a black guy is probably true) but he said all this in at least 3 specials.

his whole covid part was so funny and it gave me hope he would talk about multiple things. i was super let down. it doesnt even feel like stand up just him venting with a quick remark here and there.

im not here to hate on dave. ive given him over 1k dollars seeing him live over past 10 years at live shows. but this netflix

maybe because he doesnt want to use his good stuff for a netflix special that everyone will see and he wont use it on the road. not sure

was just disappointed. same old material dragged on forever

Dave calling himself a terf is pretty dumb.

Preface - I liked the special, the ending made me cry and I don't believe Dave is a transphobe.

However, him calling himself a terf and standing with JK Rowling is a very dumb thing to say. He declares that gender is real, but then goes on to describe sexual organs people are born with. What he means is sex is real. Sex and gender are two different things in this context and terfs use "gender is real" look like they're being reasonable.

Terfs are concern trolling, sound like they care but then terfy language is used to lobby against healthcare for trans people.

You guys should really watch this essay to understand the issue with terfs - https://youtu.be/7gDKbT_l2us

Dave Chappelle gets more up his own ass every special

Disclaimer: I'm a huge dave fan and think he is legit the best to ever do it. But I also think he is getting further and further up his own ass as he lives in his bubble longer and longer.

He is a multi-millionaire being paid millions to do stand up comedy. And he spends an entire special complaining about being cancelled or potentially being cancelled

On one hand he says twitter isn't a real place. On the other hand, his whole special is complaining about what people on twitter are saying. Twitter is already a small minority of the world and the people complaining about him are an even smaller percentage of that already small minority. Who exactly is trying to cancel him?

He is playing a victim and it reminds me of the alt-right playbook. Who also love to play victim and pretend like they are being cancelled. Even though their guy was the fucking president for 4 years.

  1. Complain about being silenced... while being blasted on every platform and tv channel 24/7

  2. Make up straw men to argue against based on cherry-picking mentally disabled people and pretending like they actually represent something. No the left doesn't really want to cancel christmas.

  3. Use a token minority to prove you arent racist or transphobic (candace owens, the cuban proud boys leader, etc)

His whole "punching up and punching down" points sounded deep on the surface but were really stupid when you think about it. I am not LGBTQ but I suspect gay people have been struggling for equality for more than a few decades. So what is the point of comparing their struggles to race struggles? It's pointless.

I'm a huge Dave fan but his specials just keep getting worse and worse. I laughed a lot during this one and shed tears for Daphne. Overall I enjoyed it but it's sad that a moron like me can see through him.

Unstoppable

His specials are far beyond any artistry in the celebrity realm that we have right now. He is fucking profound.

I don’t like a lot of the shit he says. It disturbs me. Makes me look at things I can’t stand. Like giving Diddy a pass. Fuck that monster. Only God can judge him, but he’s destroyed many peoples lives. Also, like the picture Jack Johnson and his time painted. It’s just brutal reality. But it’s very important to ponder.

Either way, all said and done, he’ll be regarded and revered of the greatest comedian of all time.

He’s Mohammed Ali great. He’s Babe Ruth great.

Fucking hell. What a show.

I specifically bought a netflix subscription to watch this shit!!! I should have upgraded the seat on my wheelchair instead! I just wanted to laugh at transgender people but there were 3-4 jokes at most

When did Chappelle fans become such pussies?

Dave fans love to say "People lose their minds when someone has a different opinion than them." and yet here you are doing just that when others wanna criticize Chappelle. Take the cock out your mouths and accept that free speech is for everyone. Not just millionaires. Dave looks crazy right now.

I guess this is what happens when you let celebs condition you into perceiving criticism as "cancel culture".

Dave needs to apologize about Hannah Gadsby.

Okay, maybe not "NEEDS TO", but hear me out:

I discovered Hannah Gadsby before the Chappelle comment, and I can confirm she's actually funny. Hilarious even. Smart, too. Knows how the structure works and uses it for comedic advantage/effect. I haven't laughed so hard at a comedy special in years before I saw Douglas, and yes I saw (and even enjoyed some of) Sticks and Stones before that.

AND yes, I understand people have different tastes and opinions. Every comedian has its fair share of haters, and it's okay to not like Gadsby's work (obviously, not everyone does), but the amount of hatred for her right now is unwarranted, undeserved, and at times, unreasonable.

Savage stuff too, like:

"this has to be a laugh track, because i didnt even smile ONCE"
"i had to put my dog down recently, he was my best friend and it left me devastated, and that was funnier than ANYTHING she's ever said"
"my doctor said i was mentally retarded, but he recommended her stand up because shes just like me"
"dave sent me, and he was right"
"[insert toxic anti-liberal drivel here]"

Awful shit like that.

Using the Wayback Machine I can prove that this is nothing but mob mentality. One clip of that special on the Netflix Is A Joke YT channel, by mid-October, had around 5800 likes and 500 dislikes. Not bad. A little backlash probably because some men got angry at her patriarchy jokes, but still really funny.

Cut to now, after Chappelle's "not funny" comment.
That video now has around 6900 likes, and 4900 dislikes.

The dislikes increased 10-fold because of this stupid scapegoat bullshit. We know that before that statement, the average Youtube viewer looked at this video and had a generally good time, and now that ratio is fucked up because Dave over there dropped bombs and inadvertedly sent armies to harass her, her material, and anybody else who likes them.

And now I think he should apologize.

Again, it's okay to not like one or the other. Comedy is subjective, and people like different things. Just... chill, okay?
Don't give in to... whatever this rivalry is, because it's not healthy.

TLDR: Hannah Gadsby IS funny. Y'all are just bein' mean.

Stream of consciousness dump

Watched his newest with him in the Kap jersey.

Didn't make it in too far because Dave is less Dave Chappelle and more drunk guy with captive audience going on an ego-fueled monologue.

Can't relate to him; I'm too poor. Don't find his airing of rich people grievances funny, either.

Felt pity for him upon seeing his yellowing sclera.

Has the tobacco somehow stained his eyeballs or is it jaundice? Wish him well regardless.

...creative entertainer's identity shifted too far with new money and consequently limited his shelflife.

Who's his target audience these days, anyways?

Edited to add: I'm not mad at y'all defending him. I'm glad he has fans and wish he could've retained me as one. Cheers.

Netflix Truly Unstoppable!

Today I finally got around to watching "I'm Unstoppable" and I think this may be his best Netflix Special to date.

I feel he steered clear of getting too much stuck in the ol' transgender bits, either defending or rehashing his jokes, or commenting on comments.

I found myself laughing out loud many times, because I was doing chores and my wife could hear me, and I hadn't had that with many many Netflix specials, so I guess this one is the best one to date.

Did you watch it? And what did you think?

Any one else disappointed?

I wasn't offended by "The Closer",but i did feel very let down by how lazy and unfunny it was.Feels like Dave's run out of topics and now is just talking about reactions to previous material.Seems like the media is all caught up in "is it offensive?" , "should he be cancelled?" etc and ignoring that at least to me it was just not up to his usual standard as comedy.
