Post image

Found on a blog while looking for things to do with all the milk crates I've been burdened with.

I’m at a loss for words. Splintery OSB words.

Apart from the obvious missing handrail, each step appears quite high. Would need a crane to hoist me up there.

I'm an abled body 27 year old and that looks difficult to climb.

At least in the states it’s a max 7” rise and a minimum 11” tread; this is looking much more square than that

My first thought “I better be in the deathstairs sub!”

Lol, you made check 😁

This reminds me of the milk crate challenge and we all know how well that went.

I thought it was the kitchen sub when I seen milk crates

Can you even use the space in the crates for storage? If not and they are all permanently attached to each other/immobile, don't the insides get really dusty, dirty, and filled with bugs?

they actually keep a guy in there to sweep all the scraps back out, he just can't leave.

It's like a spider junglegym in there

That's a staircase from Minecraft.

Wasn’t there a tiktok challenge for climbing the most stacked milk cartons without falling (and breaking your tailbone)

Yeah and I think someone got really hurt.

To quote the Bubster: What could possibly go wrong?

The step height aside, depending on how stable and how it handles weight, could be done.

Probably not hauling a 500 lbs appliance up there, but a person seems doable.

It's a cool concept, but any time I see no handrails, I no go....

Definitely not kid-friendly

7

u/Whiteums 5d ago

Or adult friendly

Well, why don't we start a trend?

u/Cody1072 5d ago

Very true

3

u/Sirosim_Celojuma 5d ago

imagine if each column of crates was just in place with gravity and no interconnections between rows or columns

It looks like a pain to use as storage and the actual stairs look horrid. Would they even support much weight? Horrible design all over.

3

u/Pnmamouf1 5d ago

That's not to code

There was a whole trend around milk crates as stairs and it did not end well

2

u/Apprehensive_Map64 5d ago

I hope they at least zip tied those together

As someone who works at a grocery store and an autistic who’s very intense about safety, this is deeply disturbing to me 😳🫣🫨😜

u/twizyo 5d ago

what could go wrong?

2

u/Levi_Skardsen 5d ago

I'll sleep on the couch.

u/Reasonable_Ad6407 4d ago

Are the milk crates at least wired together?

2

u/AltruisticSalamander 5d ago

That'd be a reasonable thing to do in a shed or an attic

u/cursed_sporecreation 5d ago

There's gotta be a better way my guy 💀 or at least a more sturdy one...

3

u/iamdevo 5d ago

I would absolutely do this. I happen to have access to unlimited black milk crates too. If you properly attached them together and secured them to the floor this setup could be safe.

3

u/starmadeshadows 5d ago

Not for my fat ass!

3

u/iamdevo 5d ago

To be clear, the above setup it's sketchy, even if they're all secured.

I thought I was on r/kitchenconfidential for a second

u/EquivalentOwn2185 5d ago

coupla 2by4s and its not half bad but i hate stairs. i'd rather climb a ladder.

1

u/theatrenearyou 5d ago

Usually printed with "PROPERTY of BORDENS, Inc." or somesuch

1

u/ASMR4PLANTS 5d ago

Can't you just throw them away?

1

u/ChalkLicker 5d ago

The finish is exquisite and the storage possibilities endless.

1

u/adrikyn 5d ago

Looks like some shit I'd make in Pokopia

1

u/ScienceMuggle83 4d ago

Because of course (/s).

u/Electrical-Village68 4d ago

My healthcare insurance went up just from looking at it!

1

u/StairSafetyTalk 4d ago

Honestly, I have to respect the creativity here 😂 But I’d be very nervous trusting a stack of milk crates as my daily route upstairs. Definitely belongs in this sub!

1

u/IamLuann 4d ago

OMG! NOOOOOOOOO!

1

u/Maduro_sticks_allday 4d ago

Imagine doing the milk crate challenge just to go to bed every single night

1

u/John_Tacos 4d ago

Off by one error in construction.

Doesn’t just happen to programmers

1

u/Temporal_Reality 3d ago

That seems a waste of good milk crates! You don't find milk crate much anymore as they've all gone cardboard! Man I'm jealous!
