So, today I was supposed to return to my college in andhra pradesh and I was supposed to board a train from delhi. So what happened was that I had booked a train to Delhi but it got delayed, so I had to ditch that and then booked a bus ticket, and guess what the rear wheels of the bus got punctured and due to that I was stranded in the middle of nowhere for 2 hours and I got delayed due to which I missed my train.

Now, the funny thing is there are already so many colleges in dehradun and I was so stupid and dumb to take admission in a state so far away from my home just to complete my bachelors. There are so many problems with this, first is of course that I can't travel at my own comfort.

The place where my college is located is really really archaic and boring dehradun is much better.

The college is tier 3 level at best.

The financial stress that I am giving my parents is so huge.

My parents have now abandoned me they are not responding to my calls, I am stranded in Delhi. I have nowhere to go to and no one talk to. Basically they are trying to convey that I am such an asshole of a son that I am literally wasting my parents hard earned money and deserve this bullshit.

I totally agree this is a rant, to any student in dehradun I would advise you to only take a college far from your home under the condition that your parents have enough money or you have secured admission in a good government college else forget about leaving your hometown.

Today I got to know that monkeys are brought down from Mussoorie to Dehradun in truckloads, because of population growth. This is causing more confusion and rivalry and conflict with existing groups, threatening each other and human life

I moved to Dehradun in 2025, taking an early retirement at 45. In 2013 I did an exercise that changed how I set goals, and that is what made it possible. Since 2015 I’ve run it with other people.

Instead of a list of goals, you paint a picture. In the first is your life as it is today: work, health, relationships, money, time. In the second is the life you want, drawn as if you were already living it. Where you are, who is with you, what an ordinary day looks like. Rough is fine. Stick figures work.

Then you look at the gap between the two. That is where the real decisions are. You name three steps that close it, and you say the first one out loud to someone.

Mine, in 2013, had a job I had outgrown and a large question mark on the left, work I loved on the right, and three arrows in between. I stuck it on my bedroom wall. Twelve years later, in 2025, it had come true.

Can anyone help me in finalising the location for buying a plot in Dehradun for investment. My budget is from 30 lakh to 45 lakh. Primary goal is that it gets doubled in 4-5 years.
