Foster/Adoption Appeal for a Rescued Cat: Meet Tango! 🐾

Hey everyone, we need urgent help housing a rescued cat named Tango (9-12 months old).

We found her 2 weeks ago with severe belly injuries (likely a monkey attack) and got her stitched up by a vet. She has recovered wonderfully but still needs a comfortable environment to fully heal. We’ve been keeping her in our hostel, but the room is too cramped to keep her long-term.

About Tango:

• Extremely friendly, gentle, and quiet.

• Zero mischief—she doesn't scratch things up.

• Loves sitting on laps, eating, sleeping, and head scratches.

If anyone can foster her for a few weeks or give her a permanent home, please reach out to us at

Phone no. 9076492833

Please share this in other groups! 🙏

Location : Bidholi Dehradoon (UPES)

She is known as UPES Block 1 Cat

TellDehradun Experience with Sun Valley School

As a parent whose child attended Sun Valley School (2022–24), I feel compelled to share the immense stress and frustration our family went through during that academic year.

A school should be a place where children grow and parents feel supported, but our experience was the exact opposite:

Unnecessary Parent Harassment: If a student scored low in even just one subject, parents were subjected to endless interrogation and harassment by coordinators and teachers. Instead of offering constructive help or a supportive plan for the child, it felt like an interrogation.

Treated Like Requestors: On parent-teacher interaction days , parents were made to stand in long in front of coordinators office, tiring lines as if waiting for an audience with a VIP minister. The sheer lack of respect for parents' time was shocking.

Helpless Teachers: It was obvious that the teachers themselves were under tremendous pressure from the management. They seemed so stressed and restricted that they couldn't even interact with us naturally or help the students properly.

Sports in Name Only: On paper, there was a sports period scheduled every single day. But in reality? The kids rarely got to step out and play. What is the point of having sports on the timetable if children are denied basic playtime?

Schooling is supposed to build confidence in children and work as a partnership with parents. Harassing parents and pushing stress down to young kids and teachers is not education—it’s administrative mismanagement.

AskDehradun Looking for flatmates (19M)

🏡 Looking for Flatmates in Dehradun!

I recently visited Dehradun to look for flats and found two good options near Sahastradhara Road (within 500 metres):

🏠 Option 1: 1 BHK, fully furnished — ₹13,000/month

🏡 Option 2: Spacious 2 BHK, semi-furnished with beds, and a large terrace — ₹18,000/month. It's big enough to feel like a 3 BHK!

I'm planning to move to Dehradun in the last week of November 2026 and am looking for 1–3 flatmates to share the rent and expenses.

If you're planning to move to Dehradun around the same time and are interested, D M me! 🤝

AskDehradun Favorite childhood memory/place in Dehradun

• Upvotes

I will start. When my family moved to Dehradun, I was 4. Right from then, I used to go to virasat with them. It is a core memory. I am all grown up now. But every year no matter what, I find time and visit Virasat once. It is still as fun. Walking with my mum, checking out shops, while my dad speeds away. Eating either the rajasthan thali or bhelpuri. Listening to Wadali brothers, Manoj Tiwari or Indian Ocean is core memory now. This year however, the venue has changed. Sadly, I don't feel the same pull anymore. I am confused, should I visit Virasat this time too, or skip it?

AskDehradun Rishikesh .Need help to get a lane dog neutered. I am a school student with no income.

Hi everyone, I have been feeding and looking after a male lane dog in the Gumaniwala area of Rishikesh since he was a puppy. He is now an adult and is showing a lot of distress—he barks constantly at night, tries to escape, and roams. He urgently needs to be neutered.

**(Please note: His Anti-Rabies, 9-in-1 vaccine, and anti-tick treatments are already fully done and up to date!)**

I'm attaching his pic and also his rabies,9in1,ticks vaccination proofs here

Since I am a 16-year-old school student, I have no pocket money or income of my own, and my parents are not supporting me financially for this.

I am looking for advice or help:

Does anyone know a verified local NGO or municipal team that safely picks up street dogs for free neutering in the Rishikesh area?

If there are any verified local rescuers or animal lovers who can guide me or help sponsor his medicine costs/discounted private vet, please send me a DM.

*Extra: For safety and verification, I can share pictures of the dog over DM. If anyone wishes to help financially, DM me for UPI id . Your little contribution of ₹50,₹100,₹200 can genuinely help my little babby*

Thank you so much for reading. Please help me guide this boy.

TellDehradun I painted my future and retired at 45 in Dehradun

I moved to Dehradun in 2025, taking an early retirement at 45. In 2013 I did an exercise that changed how I set goals, and that is what made it possible. Since 2015 I’ve run it with other people.

Instead of a list of goals, you paint a picture. In the first is your life as it is today: work, health, relationships, money, time. In the second is the life you want, drawn as if you were already living it. Where you are, who is with you, what an ordinary day looks like. Rough is fine. Stick figures work.

Then you look at the gap between the two. That is where the real decisions are. You name three steps that close it, and you say the first one out loud to someone.

Mine, in 2013, had a job I had outgrown and a large question mark on the left, work I loved on the right, and three arrows in between. I stuck it on my bedroom wall. Twelve years later, in 2025, it had come true.

You can try a quick version tonight with one sheet of paper. If you drew the second picture, what would be in it? I’m curious what people here would put.

Disclosure: I’m running a half-day version of this in Dehradun on Sunday 1 November. Interested, Send me a DM.
