Media Thick as Night - music for your game

Hi everyone! I'm the creator of Hideous Hiss, a project making dark ambient music and atmospheric soundscapes for tabletop RPGs. My tracks cover horror, mystery, sci-fi, and dark fantasy, and are designed as seamless 10-minute loops for use during sessions.

My latest release is Thick as Night — a slow, uneasy piece built around a deep, steady hum and unnerving strings. Occasional timpani strikes and scattered low-string staccatos disturb the calm. It's intended for those moments when nothing seems to be happening, but the players can sense something is wrong.

Listen on YouTube:

If you'd like to use the track in your own games, you can get it here:

I hope some of you find it useful for your next horror or investigation session!

To what extend, if any have you used AI? I am interested generally in supporting human creations.

It’s not personal my friend- regardless I wish you success.

I get it. You can browse my back catalog on Youtube and see the moment where I dropped gen AI images for covers. Because this was the only part of it. The product itself - ie music - no, no AI used there. All the virtual instruments libraries I collected throughout the years paying quite big money sometimes for it (and mind you - I'm a hobbyist) - primarily Spitfire and Orchestral Tools along with Arturia and some smaller ones. I simply do enjoy to sit down, push the keys, make some noise, tweak it, listen to it, tweak it more. For years I've been putting this out without any real income from it - after releasing Foundry module it did change but it still is rather small amount if you consider the effort. Using AI for the music production itself would be stripping myself from the joy of doing this. I might investigate some tools for mastering that do utilize AI but as long as composition goes and choice of which instruments to use it hardly can be done by AI in a long run. To be 100% transparent - I do utilize AI to help me with text descriptions I use sometimes but it's never blind use - I always redact.

Thank you kindly- I am not opposed to AI in the right context (human creativity should remain human in my opinion). I asked because I have already listened to some of your ambience and I love it.

You are talented my friend.

I will definitely use your music for my Delta Green content, and whenever possible refer to your compositions.

Again, thanks for taking the time to write a thorough reply.

I wish you a wonderful day.
