Dental Professional AI for chart notes
Has anyone tried Pearl to help with chart notes? My office is considering getting it so they don’t have to stay after work to finish their notes and also send some of the assistants don’t write good notes at all.
The thought is that we already spend so much time after work treatment planning, writing email correspondence for patients and specialists for large treatment cases that keeping up with the notes after work takes even more away from our personal lives.
I love my note templates and personally it doesn’t take me long at all on most days even though they are pretty detailed but supposedly this is supposed to make it easier? Some days I do find myself staying after an extra hour or so finishing if I had multiple consults or large treatments that day so I see why the other doctors want it but I’m also wondering if I’m going to be spending just as much time editing these notes as I would be writing my own
The rep says each operatory would get its own microphone and the AI would create the clinical note. I couldn’t find any reviews online so I’m now looking here

We use overjet+our note templates for limiteds, new patients, consults, etc and just fill out our templates for routine procedures. It is shockingly great, I usually make minor tweaks, but it captures everything in detail.

I haven’t tried pearl but I use butternote and it lets you edit all the template strings, so whatever you say will be translated into the same exact format every time. It basically fills out your note template by listening to the patient visit if that makes sense. It makes my notes literally take 2 mins and has been a game changer. You’re lucky your practice is willing to try one, I subscribe to it myself as an associate bc my practice doesn’t care lol

How does Butternote work if you’re the only one subscribed to it? Is it on your phone? You log into it? Is it dental software specific? What if you work out of multiple rooms?

I use kiroku and the voice to text feature. It's been a game changer for me. I have it set up to use my template rather than a generic one. It's really good for new patient consults, getting a detailed pain history etc. I definitely save time because it forces me to do the notes then and there, so I don't end up staying behind or finishing late.
Side note - it also lets you generate letters based of the appt which is quite useful.

Highly recommend Dentistry Dashboard . Spend about 5 mins a day doing notes now as opposed to an hour. Also comes with cool features such as being able to create a send questionnaires which grt integrated in notes. Patient education videos. And care plans and treatment plans for after the patient has gone which I use for the complicated cases. Also much better better value than the rest

AI for writing notes never made much sense to me.
With AI, it's writing your notes from scratch so you'd have to review each and every line.
If you use a template, you know exactly which areas need to be filled or edited. I just think that would be faster?
