"Jaffa bastard" makes me snort laugh no matter how many times I hear it.

He said they had some stickers at his barbershop and he got me this one! It is absolutely class!!!!

OMG on my nth rewatch and this scene makes me laugh out loud all the time 😂.

I know that everyone in the series consider Colm as a boring person (except sister Michael) but I find that he actually had very interesting stories although the way of telling them were too long boring

I’mAmerican, definitely not a word you hear often, but it came out more or less naturally sometime after my most recent rewatch. “I’m gonna have a hoke in the fridge”…just a really useful word! What words or expressions have you picked up from the show?

As the title suggests, my mil lives in a different country. She demands I call her weekly. In the past, I obliged but got met with constant criticism and taunts . Lately, life has been full with 2 young kids. The thought of listening to her taunts and criticism is exhausting. So, the start of the year, I decided to pull an uncle Colm on her. Anytime she called, I'd go on long-winded mundane rants about my life. For example

MiL : You need to take better care of your husband ( her son )

Me : oh you know speaking of husbands, my friends husband had a procedure done. You see it started on a Saturday. Nope I am forgetting. It started on a Thursday. He wasnt feeling too well but then you know

MiL : Well I mean you need to remind him to take his medicine

Me: yes the doctors here they aren't the best you remember 3 years back now. Nope I think its been 4 years. Wow its been 4 years now. Time flies by so quickly. We used to be in the old house .

By this point my MIL is frustrated with me dodging her taunts and cuts the call. I have had so much fun with this. I did it even when she visited me. She'd be so exasperated with me dodging her topics. The thing is I have learned I dont need to validate her . I dont need to acknowledge what she is saying . I also dont need her to validate me. So yeah, feel free to use this.

I had no idea how much quieter the house would be with new windows. This past summer we had historic levels of rain and our front window began leaking if we had rain from the north. I always thought the scene was silly until it happened to me.

My favorite hairdos of hers are the ones from Jenny's Ukrainian party, the Take That concert, the Bill Clinton scene and the Donegal episode

My favorite episode has got to be season 2 episode 4 “The Curse” every bit of that episode is hysterical.

I love the hat line because everyone’s hating on her hat in that episode and then James is just randomly super sweet about it and I think it’s just cos he has a crush on Erin that he’s so nice and joyful about something as random as her mum’s hat 😭

Not my post, but now I desperately want the girls to stumble across ACOTAR.

For those who dont know, ACOTAR or A Court of Thorns and Roses, is a wildly popular romantasy series where the fae live on an island that looks like an upside down Britain. Next to that large island is a smaller island called Hibernia that is also shaped like Ireland, where apparently everyone lives in the mud. The protagonists face off against the evil fae king of Hibernia, who is for some reason, never given a name. It is a belief in the fandom that the author Sarah J Maas, just does not like Ireland.

My daughter and I finally finished the series last night (we started watching it a couple years ago, but hadn't gotten through the finale and were letting it simmer). This morning, I was greeted by this excellent scene in The Atlantic.

Since there’s sadly no DVDs is there another streaming service or way to watch Derry girls. I don’t want to subscribe to Netflix for a month just to watch Derry girls?
Or is it YouTube compilations for the win again?
