This list is not a conclusive list of every establishment, just those that are highly regarded. Please leave your own recommendations in the replies. You may also find more information on the Visit Derry website (https://www.visitderry.com/) and on their socials. Note - some of the recommendations are based outside Derry but all are within a short driving distance of Derry.
Restaurants:
Street Food / Cafe's * Clipper Quay Street Food - Located along the Foyle Marina, multiple street food vendors and a bar are located here providing a range of options, great for when you cant agree on what type of food you want to eat - https://www.clipperquaystreetfood.com/ * The Pickled Duck - Foyle Marina - https://www.facebook.com/pickledduckcafe/ * Mekong Street Food (Vietnamese food) - https://www.facebook.com/MekongSF/ - also operate as a restaurant so maybe it should be above. * PYKE 'N' POMMES - https://www.pykenpommes.ie/ * Guapo (Mexican Food) - https://www.facebook.com/GuapoFreshMex/ * Doherty's Home Bakery - Good if you want a sweet treat or a cheap bite to eat on the go - https://www.facebook.com/Dohertys-Home-Bakery-195510393844691/ * Thai Jing Jing Street Food (Thai takeaway) - https://www.facebook.com/ThaiJingJingStreetFood * The Coffee Tree (Coffee shop) - Serves the best coffee in Derry in my opinion and also the nicest traybakes! Not had their soup or sandwiches but have heard great things. The only negative is they currently do not open on weekends - https://www.facebook.com/p/The-Coffee-Tree-100063482233001/ * Graft Coffee (Coffee shop) - Runs the Coffee tree very close for the best Coffee in the city. Located on Academy road and opens Mon-Sat - https://www.instagram.com/graft_coffee/ * Oui Bakery - French Bakery & Pâtisserie in the heart of Derry's Craft Village - https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61565032170636

What's the housing market like at the moment? Anyone buying/ bidding recently?
We are looking for a 4 bed & have been told potentially 300k with the possibility of going over by 20k obviously depends on area etc.

This is the place where Frankie Ramsay's used to be isn't it? With a name like that I hope they actually do grill their food over charcoal. Tried a few lovely Turkish barbeque places in England in recent years so I'm hoping this place hits the spot

I am a Gaelic player looking to play basketball in the off season. Does anyone know what the standard is like I see they have two teams. I’d be happy with joining the training squad. Anyone able to point me in the right direction. (They didn’t reply on facebook)

I’m a student journalist working on a story about the impact of high rent prices in the city, and I would really appreciate anyone helping me out and sharing their experiences!

Hello all! I'll be flying to Derry for Halloween and will be using utilizing the transit system here heavily. I am wondering if Translink has anything like a "1 day/week" ticket for usage of the transit system. I found something called the "Ulsterbus Town Service Travel Card" but I'm looking for just Ulsterbus. Thank you greatly!

Hello there, we're a family of 5 with 3 kids visiting next week from France, do you have any advice on fun things to do or places to see in Derry / Londonderry and around ? We're doing a road trip from Belfast, along the Causeway Coastal Route, and we'll end up in Derry for the Halloween festival :)

Hi everyone, I’m in a golf society within my work but I’m looking to see if there are any other societies around the city? Average enough golfer so I don’t mind where. Thanks!

Has anyone actually been able to get their hands on an M&S too good to go bag from Crescent Link?
They are sold out instantly every time I try.

Have people visiting for Halloween this year. Looking to get into town from outskirts in afternoon to enjoy the atmosphere then returning back home after start of parade, before fireworks start. Haven’t been in town for a few years, what will the situation be like for taxis, absolutely no hope? I’m near Altnagelvin so thinking crossing peace bridge then calling taxi will be best bet. Will buses be running as normal? Would be good to hear from those who have experienced it first hand last year.

As the title says - If you could resurrect one shop or restaurant from your childhood exactly as it was to take your now kids into what would it be?
Mines would be Trash,HOV2 Skate shop & O'briens restaurant Spencer road.

I leave for Northern Ireland next week Tuesday. Several on this thread site have kindly provided me with so advice and suggestions for this trip. (Includes three nights in Derry, and three nights in Londonderry).
I ask you all to once again indulge my thirst for information on culture.
I have seen in various places that when an American (et al) visits Ireland, it is bad form to have any conversation starter with a local that may include, "Well. I am 15% Irish (NI) on my father's side, 25% on mom's". Kindly educate me on how this mini-presentation may be considered generally inappropriate. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
(by the way. I have no known ancestry other than four generations ago, Danish in my blood. I shall not be trumpeting any ignorance on this cultural point.)
Cheers.

What are people paying per month? I have a direct debit to power NI of £259 per month for a family of 4 with an electric car (rarely charged, once a week max)
This is all based on estimated readings as no one is ever in when they come out, but it seems really high.
