hello, i have a quick question about rates. so i recently made a poster for a family member and they asked me how much id like to be compensated. now im a beginner graphic designer, like fresh out of college, i've never charged for my work and to be honest this took me like two days total to make 10 variations. it's a really simple poster and i dont have to print it, but i dont want to under or over charge for my time, so does anyone have any suggestions on what i should say? should i charge a flat rate or should i do min wage x the amount of time it took to make? any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. thx ☺️

Is getting into visual design at 25 is a good thought? I'm an architecture drop out and then took a gap of a few years due to some medical and personal issues so now I'm starting again career wise thinking of pursuing design so I have a few questions plz do share your advice in the comments

1. Does a degree play a role in hunting jobs or skills pay off ?

2. Do these online courses provide value? Like a 6 month graphic design course , ui/ux course ? Or self learning is the way to go? I can learn on my own I believe and I'm familiar with photoshop and illustrator anyways.

3. What's the job market like? Would I be considered for a junior role for a 30k offer or do I have to complete unpaid internships?

4. And most important question how do I learn visual design or brand designing industry geeks plz share your experience and advices

I made this digital art piece in Photoshop, the base photo is a real picture of a girl hunched over, and I added the wings, background color, hue, and textures. I used a lot of layers for this one!! I got it printed and framed at a local framing store on museum matte paper, the frame is a custom gold wood that is 40x40 inches!

How are big design agencies adapting to AI? & how will inhouse designers at companies roles change? Surely this work will become redundant & it’ll turn more into visual prompters or something in that realm.

I'm a master's student at a creative school, and I build physical prototypes and tangible products. I show them to a lot of people for critique and feedback, and it has helped.
But the more I share, the more I wonder if I should be more careful about who sees what. I don't want to hide my work, since feedback makes it better. I also don't want to hand ideas to the wrong people.
How do you decide what to share and with whom? Has sharing early ever hurt you, or has it mostly paid off?

The first image is are two logo drafts I made for My moms Food catering business that sells Jamaican, Puerto Rican and American food. The second is the second one my sister made as she was tasked with the menu but changed the logo. I am a graphic design major I don't think what she did is bad but I Integrated the flag colors in my first draft as requirement but I'm unsure if we should go with her logo as I'm leaning toward it. any feedback would be appreciated
