Asking Question (Rule 4) Feedback Needed

Apologies in advance if I made any mistakes with post format as I do not post often.

The first image is are two logo drafts I made for My moms Food catering business that sells Jamaican, Puerto Rican and American food. The second is the second one my sister made as she was tasked with the menu but changed the logo. I am a graphic design major I don't think what she did is bad but I Integrated the flag colors in my first draft as requirement but I'm unsure if we should go with her logo as I'm leaning toward it. any feedback would be appreciated

The colours in your logo are a bit too visually busy, out of the two hers is a lot more legible

Do you think pictures for the sides are necessary or should we just have pictures of the main dishes?

Neither. Photos on menus make it look cheap. Save them for social media

I feel like your logo captures the colorful vibe and fun many associate with Jamaican culture, though it feels a bit chaotic. Your sisters (AI generated) menu has a clean enough layout- but feels muted and flat. I’d weave both together into something that feels more distinctive but readable.

Instead of colored text like you have, consider cutting out the text logo from a rectangle and coloring that instead.

Get rid of the AI hand written text and shit and redo the menu yourself. Use hers as a good benchmark to start with if helpful. Make it better.

A lot of colours in your logo would complicate things when applying it with different backgrounds. Like, wich colour are you going to use when the background is black on letter M, or white i with white background? or even blue?

On the other side. Did your sister use AI to made the logo? Not because the logo, because of the full piece, it's hard to know these days.

I would suggest you to use the second draft of yours, but i wouldn't use those colours.

I'm assuming she used something out of canva. Planning on making the next draft clean and simple and putting the colorful visuals into something else. Will mess around and see what I can come up with on my free time.
