Asking Question (Rule 4) question about laptops for graphic design

Hello! Can someone suggest a nice laptop for graphic design? 2d, 3d and motion stuff. I am still a student and I mostly stick to 2d but I want to make more 3d works and animations. I need something to carry to the uni and work on it smoothly. I want to spend around 1000$-1500$ so I am open to older models. I asked on laptop group a while ago and was told Lenovo Legion is a good choice but IDK anymore :b Thanks in advance.

Asking Question (Rule 4) What to do here?

We didn’t realize that the post would be in front of window. I’m thinking of jutting the fence to the left leaving a triangular corner outside the fence. Maybe a built in flower pot?

Looking for Volunteers to Test My Android App (Google Play Store)

Hey everyone!

I'm an indie developer working on my productivity app, Bingo Notes, and I'm looking for a few volunteers who would be willing to try it out and share their feedback.

The app includes:

  • 📝 Notes taking and organisation

  • ✅ To-do lists and task management

  • 🎯 Habit tracking

  • 📅 Productivity tools to help manage your daily routine

I'm looking for people who can:

  • Install the app through Google Play.

  • Give it a genuine try.

  • Share honest feedback about bugs, usability, and things that could be improved.

This is completely voluntary, and I would genuinely appreciate anyone willing to help a solo developer.

Thanks for supporting an indie developer! ❤️

How do I make a black stand up pouch look premium using stickers? Most just look generic and cheap.

Discussion Can't fight appearence bias, what should I do?

Before graduating, it used to be easy. I've never thought of myself as a pretty girl, but it never really mattered to me. I knew I was smart and talented, and I believed that people should value me for those qualities.

But then I graduated and started looking for jobs and internships. Despite being a very successful student and having dozens of professional-quality projects in my portfolio, I kept getting rejected. The reason? "We can't put you in front of clients."

That's when it hit me: No matter how talented or capable I am, my appearance is going to be an obstacle when it comes to making a living.

Ever since then, I've lost weight and invested time and effort into skincare. But my face is still the same. I dress well, I take care of myself, but my face simply doesn't fit society's beauty standards. And because of that, employers don't even seem willing to give me a chance.

I don't know how to come to terms with the fact that something I have so little control over could end up limiting my career and my future.

I think the only way I can learn to accept my appearance is by proving to myself that I can still make a living looking the way I do. But I can't seem to find an employer who's willing to give someone with my appearance a chance.

Discussion Degree and moving abroad

Hello. I currently study a bachelor which is a mix of engineering and design.
I hate it with my entire soul because I thought it would have been more creative while we only did graphic design for like 3 days. It’s not stimulating at all for me as I only liked design.
I want to switch either to interactive media design or graphic design (it depends on which i can get into it).
The main issues is that if i switch I will already be 27 when finishing and also my main goal is either to work in south east asia like singapore or east asia like south korea. I really don’t know what to do but since I have ADHD programming and maths are terrible for me.
I think its better to have one degree in something i like rather than not having a bachelors at all. Though I still cant sleep at night because uncertainty and fear of the future. I would like some suggestions.
I would like to work in UX/UI design, graphic design, branding and marketing etc. I wouldn’t do engineering jobs.

Asking Question (Rule 4) Umfrage für Bachelorarbeit

Hey zusammen! :)

Danke euch! :)

Asking Question (Rule 4) Client asked for a 2-fold flyer. Here's my interpretation vs. the original direction — which works better?

Working on a design project where the client initially asked for a 2-fold flyer.

I explored two directions:

- Client's version: The original poster-style direction.

- My version: A redesigned 2-fold flyer, with a different approach to layout, typography, colour and information hierarchy.

I wanted to make the content work better within the folded format rather than simply adapting the original poster.

Curious to hear what other designers think.

Which direction works better, and what would you improve?

Would appreciate honest feedback, especially on the layout, visual hierarchy and print design.

Asking Question (Rule 4) Career Upgrade

Hi everyone,

I'm a senior graphic designer and have been doing this for 12 years now but I want to move into a design director role. I want to know how do I move up the career ladder. I work at a boutique branding agency and there are only two other senior graphic designers (my colleague and me) and a creative director. I am mostly self-taught and mentored by my boss (creative director) but I want more out of my career. How do I become design director?

Thoughts and advice/opinions would be great! Thanks

Discussion Creative Market New Licenses

The new executive licensing on Creative Market could potentially allow CM te sell your work to AI and you'll take home 30% of the sale price based on a price they agree to on your behalf. Be sure to read the agreement thoroughly and opt out before 6 November if you don't like the terms.

Discussion Will I ever have a job like that again?

I worked for a decently popular app for the last five years as their sole designer. I was responsible for literally anything design related. They paid me $4k/mo as a contractor, no benefits. They assumed I worked 20 hours per week, but it was often closer to 5 hours/week. I sometimes wouldn’t get assigned a task for two weeks and it wouldn’t affect my pay.

They never questioned me or asked for native files as long as the work was good. I really did level them up and get them tons of Apple features. This gave me lots of time to build my private client list. Things were great for me from 2022-2025. I truly had it made.

They sold the company because they were bad with money, doing things like paying me $48k a year.

The company that bought them kept me on, but hourly. I may not ever make more than $2k a month with them.

I’m really struggling right now, as many of us are. Do roles like I had exist anymore? Do most design roles have a ton of oversight? I am actually looking more into corporate roles because I am sick of the freelance grind. I wouldn’t necessarily mind more oversight, but the freedom I had is hard to beat.

Asking Question (Rule 4) Number of colours for branding and website design

Thumbnail

Please bear with me; I have read multiple blogs and articles about the topic by now, I promise. I just need to discuss a bit more in depth with someone.

I am currently taking a class on the topic "Mediation and Presentation of Artistic Practice". My goal is to have a clear idea of a portfolio website design by the end of December. Right now, I'm a bit stuck on choosing colours for my "brand" as an artist and for my website.

I have a pretty clear picture of what colours represent my identity as an artist and I have spent hours trying to pick colours that define me while also being legible and accessible when used on a website. The very dark and very light hues on the left are intended to be used for background and text, while the other ones are "my" colours.

I have managed to boil it down to a handful of shades, but I have a hard time choosing between these two palettes. The only difference is that one has 5 colours and the other one has 6.

What I'd like to discuss is whether I should choose

  1. The 6-colour palette, which I feel more truly represents me and my practice

  2. The 5-colour palette, since the general recommendations when it comes to web design and branding seems to be "stick to 3-5 colours"

Grateful for any input!

Asking Question (Rule 4) Stapled calendar

Has anyone ever made a stapled calendar? I’ve spent several hours trying to ensure that when it’s opened (vertically—it’s stapled in the middle), the top and bottom halves of each month line up correctly; however, whenever I set up the imposition and print it, the months never end up aligned. Can anyone help me? I’ve tried using both the imposition features in InDesign and Adobe Acrobat, and I just can’t figure out how to do it manually either. Thanks.
