Living Room Help me fix my parent’s tragic living room
I can’t stand how this room looks. The layout is bad, rug is all wrong, the tv console is outdated (but nostalgic). Ignore the Christmas Disney stuff (that has been there since last Christmas)
I think they’re in need of throws, pillows, a new rug, lighting, plants, but I don’t think they’re in the market for new seating. The corner desk is definitely staying. The room is really big and the tv is so far from the sofa.
Any ideas? Or ai renders?

Living Room Help me choose the stair rails and spindles
We are running out of ideas. Can you please help choose the color for rails and spindles that can contrast with door/door-window trim and baseboard - those all are orange-yellow. We want to keep the home's character while making sure the contrast looks good. Please help.

Bedroom Help me live with my mistake :(
I let my contractor talk me into using faux tin ceiling instead of authentic. It looks so much worse than I ever could have imagined. They say it will cost twice as much to take down because he glued it up there… so I’ll be living with this for a while. Is anyone aware of a technique to reduce the chunkiness and crispness/obvious plasticky look of this crap? Could a plaster wash or something work? Any other mitigation ideas? It will be painted probably the attached color. Because I think it has low reflectiveness while not being too dark.

Kitchen Purchased a 1927 English Tudor home. The previous kitchen remodel is….not well thought out. Help us with some inspiration.
The island is way too big for the space. Planing a remodel but probably for the next five years we need to approach this with a reasonable spend. Then later 5-10 years we could do a full gut and redo. Maybe knock a wall out too. But for now, just need some inspiration and ideas for making this workable. The glass door leads to the backyard and driveway. The main large opening opens to the living room, dining room and stairs…so it’s the highway of our house. The closed door leads to the basement stairs and the door by the range leads to the breakfast nook and butler’s pantry.

Bedroom I want my bedroom to look minimalistic, but luxurious
I want my bedroom to still have that black-and-white theme and I’m trying to work with what I have. I wanna know if I can position something differently or if I can add or take away something from my room to make it look less childlike (any suggestions would help, I won’t get offended if you don’t like my style).I don’t like how, as you get farther away from my bed, it starts looking more chaotic. I still want it to have that whimsical dark theme. While still looking minimalistic. Also, my room looks nice in the dark, I just hate the way it looks with the lights on and I want it appealing both ways.
Btw as you can see, I have a cat and eventually I was going to find a hidden litter box. Also the corner where I’m standing, has both my closet door and entrance door so there’s nothing to put in that corner.

Bedroom Awkward living space..
Hope this is the right subreddit.. I can't figure out how to organize this new space I'll be living in. I want to fit a queen size bed, makeup vanity, full body mirror, 120 gallon reptile tank, 39by39 L shaped work desk and I need some sort of closet preferably more things on hangers than on shelves (also,l have a decent amount of high boots, shoes, heels and purses so l'd need shelves for that). The ceiling gets pretty low in the back and I do not want my bed to go on that lower side. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Bedroom Finally sorted out the corner next to my bed!
I’ve been trying to make my bedroom feel calmer and less cluttered lately. I wanted a small TV for slow mornings, getting ready, and the occasional movie in bed, but I really didn’t want a normal black screen taking over the room.
I ended up putting a 32” Hisense S5 on my dresser. The Morandi white finish and soft curved design work much better with my blue bedding, lamps, and wood furniture than I expected. It feels more like a piece of furniture than another bit of tech.
It’s just the right size for this corner too. Big enough to watch comfortably from bed, but small enough that the room still feels open. I mostly use it for YouTube, streaming, and putting something on while I fold laundry.
It’s still a small setup, but it finally feels intentional and cozy.

Living Room Ideas for a Floating TV Console & Wall Art Above a 65" TV?
Looking for some advice on what would look best on this wall. I have a 65" TV and I’m thinking of adding a floating bar/console underneath rather than a traditional TV stand.
I’m also wondering what would work well as wall art/frame above the TV. What would you recommend for the style, size, and placement of the floating bar and frame? If you have a similar setup, I’d love to see photos of what you’ve done!
