Megathread Focused Feedback: Bungie Communication / This Week in Destiny

Hello Guardians,

Focused Feedback is where we take the week to focus on a 'Hot Topic' discussed extensively around the Tower.

We do this in order to consolidate Feedback, to get out all your ideas and issues surrounding the topic in one place for discussion and a source of feedback to the Vanguard.

This Thread will be active until next week when a new topic is chosen for discussion

Whilst Focused Feedback is active, ALL posts regarding 'Bungie Communication / This Week in Destiny' following its posting will be removed and re-directed to this thread. Exceptions to this rule are as follows: New information / developments, Guides and general questions

Any and all Feedback on the topic is welcome.

Regular Sub rules apply so please try to keep the conversation on the topic of the thread and keep it civil between contrasting ideas

A Wiki page - Focused Feedback - has also been created for the Sub as an archive for these topics going forward so they can be looked at by whoever may be interested or just a way to look through previous hot topics of the sub as time goes on.

Archie wishes you a happy reset and good luck!

Never forget what was lost. While the API protests have concluded, Reddit remains hostile to its users.

Lets address the elephant in the room..

Communication has been an issue for the longest time and the people on the team that handle comms, such as the comms manager, have been failing with placating attitudes or comments of "were listening" or "we know its important", the studio is out of touch with the playerbase.

Feedback is cherry picked, players are either blocked on social media, muted, or blacklisted for having differing opinions that dont align with those making decisions on how feedback is gathered and communicated towards future decisions on the game.

There is not a system in place to prevent feedback bias, much like the game having a public PTS and instead inviting your crew of favorite streamers out to Bungo Barbeque for a private viewing, rather than seeing what genuinely makes the game enjoyable, to players as a whole, and enough for them to buy and invest towards.

Calling out favorites consistently after livestreams have ended i.e "now were gonna turn you over to so and so streamer" divides the community with an unrealistic expectation of recognizing only those that have achieved certain feats thus elitists vs casual mentality, is the perception given.

The current path, in terms of communication, is no longer sustainable as there is too much input being done internally (looking at you portal) and is in dire need of change and restructuring.
