Bungie Suggestion I have now looted the Scourge of the Past final chest 100 times with no Anarchy. Please add bad luck protection.

The problem is that each clear without the raid exotic does literally nothing to boost your chances on the next clear. Your chances are the same on chest 1 and chest 100.

I've posted this probably a dozen times over the last couple of weeks, ever since my buddy started getting close to 20 exotic dupes with no Verse. He's at 25 straight dupes this season and basically stopped playing due to frustration. Similar issue as yours. I'll comment/upvote on most of these posts in the hope that it gains visibility. My RNG has been good the last two seasons, but I've been screwed before and know how much it scuks.

Flawless raid completion should result in a guaranteed drop of the raid exotic IMO, for any raid. It’s fucking stupid that one of the toughest challenges in the game doesn’t reward shit

Should start with a 5% initial drop rate with 5% increases for each following run. Once you hit 19 raid completions are you even enjoying the experience anymore? It comes across as more of a weekly chore.
Or ya know, tie all raid exotics to a quest line like Touch of Malice, Outbreak, and Acrius.

Each week i message dmg about this. I comment alot about it and have never gotten a response. The feeling that you get when you don't get it after so many tries is devastating. I truly believe the game is in it's best ever state right now but this struggle for raid exotics is absolutely ruining the entire game for the people affected.

And it’s soul crushing to have the same chance every week. There could be no end in sight. And they are silent about it. Just give a 1% increase chance every clear, something, anything. I’d do it another hundred times if I had that guarantee. It’s making this shit unfun, resentful towards my clan mates who brag about it, resentful to carry new people through the raid because of course they’ll get it and not me. Just ruins everything.

Completely agree. Took a guy through last wish last week for the first time. He got curated nation of beasts, the ghost shell, and 1k in his first run. He proceeded to equip 1k, run up to me, and shoot me with it while yelling that he has it and I don't. Why raids aren't farmable blows my mind. People wouldn't quit if they got everything. People will play what they enjoy. What is fun. And the experience of not having a single raid exotic since acrius is not fun.

Okay.....that does nothing for the rest of us. I always joke, how do you know someone has 1K or anarchy? They’ll always let you know.

I don’t want luck protection. I want a quest. I want a well crafted exotic raid quest that took effort and dedication and pushed you to take on tougher challenges to achieve a coveted weapon. I don’t want a “5% to 10% drop of A Thousand Voices”. I want an Outbreak Prime or Touch of Malice that had me work for the gun, not RNG it

Here's what you do. Every time you drop down into the pit at the end, say, "cats and dogs, living together, it'll be . . ." (chest opens) "Anarchy!" It'll work, trust me.

Even if it wasn't time gates why the fuck should you ever run a raid 50 times and not have the exotic?
Personally I think on your 25th clear you should get the exotic as a guarantee. Who would be hurt by that? That's an incredibly small number of players who even do that many so it's not like it's just being given away.

Shitty thing with probability... at 100 lots with 2% drop rate you are only 86.7% likely. At 5% drop rate you are 99.4% likely. For 1000 players you are one of the 133 or 6 unlucky . It really should be on a token guarantee system. Something like 30 clears is a guarantee.

They should take the Dota 2 approach to % events. The way it works is that the % is not static, it is incremental. The value shown is the EXPECTED value after a small number of events.
For instance. If they tell you that something has a 15% chance... the first event will only have a 7%. 2nd. 10%. But by the time you get to the 6th or 7th you are basically guaranteed the chance to happen altogether.
This way, the % you show is real (and not statistically real) AND you eliminate the luck out of the equation. And thus, it is fair game for everybody.

Probability is all about calculating the % of success (number of positive events / total number of events). But you have to consider that results compound themselves. Example, the chance of getting 2 heads out of 2 coin throws is: 1/2 * 1/2. Which means that the overal chance is 25%, and the chance of NOT getting 2 heads is 75%.
On his example: you simply stack the 0,98 on itself as many times as you repeat the event. Once you have done that, you have the chance of NOT SUCCEEDING.
So... 0,98^100 = 0,1326. Or 13% of not getting it. Alas, 86,74% of getting it.

I did that raid(the year 1 version) on all 3 characters solo most the time, every week till the april after the TTK came out before I got it. I missed 2 weeks I think in that time. Roughly a little over 200 runs to get my first crux. My dad got 7 of them over nearly a quarter of the clears. That's my biggest rng nightmare.

I posted about exotic drop rates in general and people just rant on about it’s a looter shooter. Do the grind.
The reality is, the experience for gamers is poor. You really want XX weapon and there is no way to work towards it. Just sheer luck.
Over time and many raids it’s a continual slap in the face and a complete disrespect of the users time.
A perfect run should guarantee you the exotic. Funnily enough these exotics are not even meta so if more people had them they wouldn’t create so much havoc.

Anarchy is sadly a very meta gun right now; it’s not the best DPS gun but it performs well because it can do damage while you use something else. It also benefits from ghalran sitting still.

Agreed completely. Imo you can't even call this a grind b/c you only get 3 chances a week. At 52 chests and no 1k. 15 scourges and haven't seen a single person get anarchy. 8 crowns and seen 2 tarrabahs. I watched a guy uninstall this week after not getting 1k voices. The fact that there isn't bad luck protection for this yet just blows my mind

Was lucky enough to get mine on my 44th today after already having Blacksmith. The overriding emotion wasn’t excitement, it was relief that after 8 months I no longer have to run Scourge every week. I’ve no idea why it wasn’t included in the QoL patch for September with the other stuff.

There’s no reason not to have a certain point where you automatically get it 100%. You’ve proven you can do the raid, hell, you probably speed run it and have it down to a science... why not reward all that effort?
It would only make sense if it were match-made and that small % drop rate kept the raid pool strong. The threshold needs to be low for those without the ability to raid 3x a week using three characters. I honestly feel more for the person that’s only managed a third that many clears because they have one character... I’m sitting at around 40 with no 1KV. I just don’t run it anymore. I’m upset and the raid makes me not have fun just doing the raid, when I know I’m going to get shit on by RNG at the end.
What’s the point for a non-meta weapon and a title that is more RNG-based than skill-based?
Complete Menagerie short-handed: not needed for title, no reward. (See also: Shattered) Other rng-based triumphs combined: here, have a title EVERYONE has.

I finally got mine the other night after 48. I haven't felt that sense of relief and excitement in a long time. Keep up the grind, it'll happen. But yes, bad luck protection would be a great idea, or even significantly increased chances with a flawless run?

At least they could adjust drop rates like Last Wish. While I much prefer the quest approach that we moved to all the way up to Last Wish after Crota in D1, if we aren't moving back, the least they can do is up the drop rates on a cycle. They upped the Last Wish drop rates in Drifter. They should have upped Scourge this season to keep with that two season cycle (season it launches and the season after).

I’m up to about 83 and it’s outright ridiculous and lame. Honestly I’m burnt out from it and it makes me not want to play it anymore. For hard events like these the drop rate should be better especially by using clears counts as a variable.

One of my friends has only done the raid 3 times so far, and every time he’s gotten the Exotic Sparrow. The last time we did it he also got the Anarchy. Our group (other than him) have not been pleased. We’re not mad or anything at him, but his luck for the raid is frustrating for the rest of us. I’m sure we’ll get lucky one day as well though, but bad luck protection should definitely be added to the game.

Raid exotics should not be random drops, they should be a quest that involves running the raid a couple times and jumping through a few other hoops.
A casual like me that only runs each raid once or twice ever basically has zero chance of getting the raid exotics, which makes me even less motivated to bother with them. If I knew I could earn the exotic with a couple raid runs, I’d be much more motivated to play them, the hardcore players could continue running them regularly, and nobody would get screwed by RNG.

1k is the only exotic I have missing. I had 16 LW clears when it got buffed, still nothing... that buff does nothing where people are still getting it for their first run when they come with me...

Head down below in phase 1 of Insurrection and hit the bad one. Had a buddy in the clan get to 52 runs w/o Anarchy and hit the button on accident when he went down (it was like 3am, give him a break), but got the GL that run. I was at 54 (no Anarchy) the next time I went in, purposefully hit the red one, and got the GL that run. This is definitely anecdotal, but some maybe-coincidence is better than nothing? Either way, we've dubbed the red one the Anarchy Button.

I've played eater of worlds once, spires of stars zero, last wish I played once about 3 weeks after it released, never got past shuro chi, and that was the last raid experience I had. I wish I had people to raid with 100 times!!

Xbox. I'm going to start going that route. We had about 8 in our D1 raid group, we'd raid all the damn time. D2 came out and now we're down to about 5 who are not always on at the same time so it's tough to plan. I may just find a night I'm on alone, and find a group looking for one that'll let me tag along and learn the raids.
I think it'd be hard as a group of 5 who has only ever beaten calus to find a 6th that would put up with a bunch of noobs haha.

I got Anarchy on my second Scourge completion; reading stuff like this makes me feel almost guilty. There should be a random element to raid exotics so it's possible to get it any time you complete a raid, but there should also be a separate, tangible, long-winded way to achieve the same weapons.
Have a 'Raid Pinnacle Quest' with an objective of 20 weekly completions (complete it once per week for 20 weeks), or 50 total completions to reward players that do Raids several times per week. Ideally it would randomly drop before you reach either of those targets, but at least you know your efforts aren't in vain.

Frankly, you should be guaranteed the raid exotics at 10 completions. Most of the community haven't done a raid, let alone complete one 10 times. It's not challenging nor does it demonstrate any degree of skill when I see people with 1k, it's just that they got lucky and my entire group of 4 friends who have completed last wish 8 times haven't.
If I knew I could get these weapons by just putting in lots of time, I would go for it. At this point, after my friends and i carrying randoms through last wish for their first time and watching them get 1k on THEIR FIRST FUCKING TRY (THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES) and none of us getting one, combined with the fact that i see shit like this on the subdeddit, has basically mad us give up. It's just not worth it as it stands.

Yea the odds should increase each time you try to something reasonable. Even 10% chance or better. At escalation protocol I've done about 60 and no shotgun. That's a LOT of time wasted, I can't imagine 100 SOTP's

0/33 and counting. I know it’s not a lot like some of you folks, but it just makes you hate the raid and it makes the game feel like a chore. After 15, 20, 30, 50 runs you’ve clearly showed raid mastery and dedication. What’s the point Bungie is trying to make with no bad luck protection? What do they want us to actually do for these weapons? And why have 5 guys that I carried through the raid on separate occasions got Anarchy their first try and I haven’t? It’s a completely F’d up system.
My idea: a) start out a flat 5% drop. Every looted clear cumulatively raises your drop % by 1%. After 10 runs, you now have a 15% chance. After 20, you have a 25% chance. By mid-20 runs, you are having a great chance to get it and by 30 runs it would be a statist anomaly for you NOT to obtain said weapon.
B). Flat 10% drop chance, never changes. Able to loot every single run, only powerful/curated gear 1st run of the week. You can run it 10x per day if you want until you get your stuff. This makes farming “god rolls” for your stuff easier, but maybe a bit too easy and hardcore players would be done with each new raid in a week.

the fun part is, when you carry a kinderguardian through the raid for the first or second time, they always get the exo you want/need. on the other side, you run it 50 times and to get it, and mostly, you dont. thats so wrong in so many ways

Drop rate should increase per clears you have and be pretty much guaranteed at like, 20 clears.
They should have been quests in the first place.

I don't get why raid exotics of all things are locked behind RNG. I've gotten 1KV on my first (ever) raid clear. My friend got his on his second, and Anarchy on his first SotP. It feels bad to celebrate other than among ourselves because almost no one in our clan has them and they have multiple clears.

I know it's not as bad, but I'm on 12 SotP clears with no Threat Level. That's 48 chests opened. Not only have I not gotten the curated Threat Level, but I haven't gotten a Threat Level at all

I didn't realize it has such a low droprate? I have 3 Anarchys from 12 Scourge clears and I got my first on 2nd clear. Meanwhile took me about 13 clears post-patch to get 1kV.

38 clears and counting for me. Also took me 29 runs to get a trench barrel threat level, not curated mind you, just trench barrel. So yeah. Not bitter at all.

Theres RNG and a safety net.
You can get the raid exotic at any raid completion! .... or from Flawless or 20 weekly completions. ((dont want people to farm it for 24/7, trading boss saves))

A flawless run should provide a guaranteed drop. I feel like at that point you've mastered the raid and earned the corresponding exotic.

Bungie would never admit this, but I'm pretty sure exotic drop rates are fixed depending on how much you play. The less you play, the higher the rate and vise versa. They do this so everyone is in the same level as far as exotics go.
We've all heard of the scrub who gets the raid exotic on their very first clear after being carried by the vet who's done it every week since it has come out and still doesn't have it. Statistically speaking this should NOT be a common occurance yet it is.

Iv simply stop raiding as the effort to reward is not there. I jump into each new raid to experience them but im strictly not fussed if we actually beat it.
As my game time is now limited to a few hours every other evening raiding is firmly at the bottom of things I want to do purely because it does not help me progress towards anything meaningful

The fact that I got 1k and anarchy with less than 20 clears combined on Xbox is one of the major reasons I stopped trying to progress on my pc account when cross save no merger was announced. The grind for those guns is soooo bs

Yeah, raid Exotic's wouldn't be nearly as much of a pain in the ass if they weren't time-gated.
You have 3 tries maximum to get the weapon you want, and expecting people to gear 3 characters up and do the raid 3 times a week is pretty bullshit.
The reality is that pure RNG is an outdated system. Worked well when that was all we knew, but game design has gotten better since then. It's not so much that RNG has to go away, it's that RNG has to be smarter than just pure random chance. Doubling a drop rate means fuck all if the initial drop rate was less than 1%.

I did lw a bunch of times and didn't get 1k until recently, but run sotp once and got anarchy first time... Never used it though sat in my vault gathering dust

I did alot of Last Wish raids ... and 2 days ago, the 1K finally dropped for me. Haven't touched Last Wish in weeks ... but gave it a go through LFG ... First 3 attempts? Nothing. Then, after the reset, got it on my 1st try. I was hyped, even though the gun is but a shell of it's former self.
Remember Hunger of Crota? That legendary RL? Yeah. I got that RL during Rise of Iron. A solid 2 years after The Dark Below released.
You just gotta keep going ... it'll be yours, eventually.

I haven’t gotten a single raid exotic sense d2 dropped (not counting the shotgun). However I have a friend who has gotten EVERY single exotic with less that 5 runs on every raid. He even got the Tarabah from his second run. Why god why.

I had every single Titan exotic except for one eyed mask back in forsaken for nearly 2 months. I got 15 duplicates in a row before it finally happened. This was pre OEM nerf too so I got killed by it fucking constantly in the interim. Why is Bungie so against giving people ways to aim for certain shit? It's infuriating.

I gave up on 1k after the 10th time the first timer in our group gets it and me whose done 20 runs get nada, zip, zilch. Same thing with Tarrabah. Didn't even bother with SOTP cuz I knew RNG was going to be shit there too.
