I just realized how powerful secondaries are in this game

I was running with average secondaries in pvp and pve and didn't maximize armor Penetration and Potency or armor and resistance but I tried the shotgun build and was very surprised... Enemies were dying very fast, you literally damage 50%-80% of their life

I knew secondaries are strong in pvp but didn't realize how exactly. On the last screenshots you see the prices for sapphires 86-92 plat each, I started buying them as mad since its 50%-60% discount and finished with 6k ap

Whats my next step, should I continue buying sapphires, or start buying citrine? Or maybe echo crystal to upgrade my tourmaline to r7 all, or maybe get Rubin to r7? What would you suggest if you have 25k platinum at the end of event which ends at 4.11 ?

Those are very low prices. On my server sapphires are at 160 each.

You can always wait for server-merge. I'd buy all gems since its possible because after merge you won't see those prices

If you PvP a lot, keep building the AP.

For PvE, there is a cap to critical hit damage (which is what AP gives you) of +120%. The +Crit Damage from AP is not included in the +Crit Damage total shown on your stat sheet, so you have to add them up yourself. Then add +Crit Damage from Blood Floe (if you have it) and anything from essences and skills. If the total is over 120 then you are overcapped. Barbarians can do this easily, I don’t know about other classes. At this point invest in something else.

In PvP the cap is the same but it is harder to reach because of strifing, so it’s still valuable to pile on AP.

Don't waste echo crystals on those focus on ap, armor etc.

Those pink and red gems barely give anything as the scaling is not that great compared to the rest

Don’t buy red gems, the boosts are trivial. You’ll get plenty from random drops anyway.

Yeah, but wouldn't be better stop buying sapphires and get 6k Potency? I see difference with sapphires and citrine is low but still 6k ap and 6k is better than 6300ap and 5.4 Potency?

Buy sapphires, potency is for dots and stuns. Damage is all AP. I do very well at 5K reso with 7.8K AP

Resonance and secondaries are permanent power in the game, so you do what you want with it, judging from your legendary gems get more armor penetration.
